It's supper dark in there, no one at the podium to seat you. So many employees no one greeted the customers, walked around with frown on their faces. No bartender and no one said anything until a customer that has been waiting over 15 minutes and asked an employee and he said that there was no bartender. No manager was in site. So many people walking around doing nothing. I thought if you can lean you can clean and a lot need to be cleaned, windows, light fixtures where people are not sittings, seat wiped down, bar area wiped down and cleaned up from behind. Believe me, it is not often I feel the need to issue a letter of complaint / disappointment- guess you are just one of the lucky ones. My wife and I dined at your restaurant on 14 January (check # 8623-196578 - and I do not know if that is the correct number!). Our order was simple - 2 bowls onion soup, appetizer trio, bourbon st steak. 40 minutes to get a bowl of soup. (Did I mention there were only about 8 people in restaurant?) I thought your staff was growing the onions out back. Another 20 minutes for the entrees. My wife ordered the trio of sauces - and she only got one. My steak was supposed to be served with a side of broccoli. Not there. Server told me "they didn't put it on there. Do you still want it?" WHAT THE HELL WAS I PAYING FOR?? The reason I am not certain of the check number is that when I FINALLY got the check, I received 4 pieces of paper. I had no idea what to sign or what the hell was going on! Normally when we go out, I leave $10 - $12 as tip (I know it is hard out there so I try not to make any one suffer). This time I left $5 - and that was too much. Meal took a little over 2 hours. Food came incomplete. No manager came to our table to see if all was ok (I didn't even see anyone managing the place). This performance was shoddy. There are other places in Albany where I can spend money. I shall be frequentlng them and not spending another dollar at Applebees. Your crap has cost you a customer. read more

Albany. GA it is an older location, like opened in 1991. It has been updated and the staff is friendly. Like a lot of places they have trouble getting good help. The food was good and service was fast. Once things get moving, they don't slow down. Good food for price paid. On par with a good Shoneys or Ruby Tuesday. Nothing bad to say. Dee the Asst. Mgr. After 7pm on Saturday , don't expect to be able to order simple foods like chips or a salad - they ran out of everything! The poor (and only) chef refused to make my nachos, yet the table next to us was served ribs. It just didn't make sense! It would have been better if they had just closed the kitchen. The manager, who I assume was in charge, didn't seem at all apologetic. Instead, he sent the poor waiters to deliver the bad news that they were out of food! Somehow, the waiter mixed up our cards, and mind you, we were a party of three. He claimed there was something wrong with the card reader. The waiter and the rest of the staff seemed really stressed. Maybe the manager should step in and help, especially with being short-staffed. Instead of telling the hostess to attend to other guests while she's also busing tables, he could have assisted with seating or even helped the chef. read more

I was very disappointed. I'm already not a fan of Applebee's but my daughter wanted to go since I was visiting her at school. Upon walking in... the entryway had a horrible smell. Can't quite describe it but it was very off-putting. The staff was great and attentive. So my review is not against them at all. There was actually a guy that greeted us and made sure the area was clean before we sat. I wish I had caught his name. The waitress was also very helpful. Didn't catch her name either. Several things that we attempted to order, they didn't have. That also made the visit not-so-great. I ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. Instead it came out with the meal. No one at the hostess stand for atleast 10 minutes then after finally being seated, did not get waited on for 25 minutes when the waitress finally took our drink order. Then we did not get our drinks for 45 more minutes. No one seemed to know what their job was. 2 more people came to the table after our order was finally taken: one asking if we wanted something to drink and another bringing us menus. We explained our order had already been taken. They both looked confuse. Very poor management. read more

The food is good but the service is not. Very slow, and seems like two of the waitresses have an attitude with everyone. The atmosphere was uncomfortable due to customers at the bar yelling at the television while families were trying to enjoy dinner. We will not be returning to this Applebees again. I had not been to Applebees in a very long time, decided to try it again. Very pleased delicious salad! The breadstick was amazing, could rival Olive Garden. Staff were nice. Plenty of parking. Only downside was the A/C was not circulating well, making the restaurant kind of hot. read more

Been here few times with friends. Food not the problem but it's mostly the service. It's very slow which I'll say understaffed. Can't really blame them all on that. But the food alright. The food is top notch, always the same...if you like something, which I DO...it's going to be the same way the next time!! I love the onion soup, the broccoli shrimp, the shrimp platter, and the chicken tenders. The service depends on which waitress you get, same as anywhere. I've never had a waitress that I didn't like. So I'll start by saying I'm not one to usually write reviews let alone bad reviews unless needed. We came to Applebee's with My fiancé, our two kids and myself, to get a late lunch...we ordered two cocktails and kids drinks and then immediately placed an order for the kids (off the kids menu) and two appetizers (breadsticks with Alfredo sauce and boneless sweet Asian Chile wings). We sat for a while enough time to finish our cocktails and then waited to hopefully get ahold of our waitress to order something else to drink and we were still waiting for straws for the kids drinks...we wait 35 mins with no one coming to bring out the appetizers, check our drinks, or even bring out the kids meals, 35 mins...the kids understandably started to misbehave from being hungry and cranky....we asked someone about our appetizers and food afraid it had been just sitting up on the counter getting cold and to put in a drink order, waited another 10 to 15 Mins with nothing, contacted another waitress and asked to please just cancel our food order and pay for our drinks so we could leave...5 mins after we say that another waitress comes out with our boneless wings and breadsticks with Alfredo sauce (or lack thereof) in a bowl...when I say lack thereof it's not just me being picky, it was sad the amount of alfredo...it was like someone put a tablespoon of sauce in the bowl, no silverware to eat our boneless wings....and still, no kids meals. The ONE good thing they did do was remove the food from our bill, we paid for our drinks and left. I worked in the service industry, if you're busy (which it wasn't in there but we had the bartender as our waitress with no one at her bar top I might add) then it takes two mins to go up to your table and apologize for the wait or offer to comp something with managers approval...it's also best to not avoid your table once you realize they are obviously upset...acknowledge your mistake and move on...the customer service was beyond horrendous and they obviously don't check to make sure the food is accurate before leaving the kitchen or they would have noticed the sauce was a JOKE. What a crappy experience it was here... a few weeks ago my friends and I came here and disappointing is an understatement. Out of 5 of us, 1 had water spilled all over her dress (and she was initially given a check), 1 never received her meal at all (found out it was never put in and was still given a check for a drink), 1 had a watered down drink (a Shirley temple and that's not what she ordered) and us other 2 got our food but was annoyed with how bad it was overall for the others. After work, needed a place to go to dinner, and Applebees was right around the corner from the hotel and I knew at least their Won Ton Tacos would be ok and watch the NFL draft. As I parked, I noticed the poor landscaping and the condition of the building, worn and unkept. As I walked inside you could see that it's an older building but not kept up with maintenance wise, and as I approached the bar, I saw the TVs were off and were tilted in a way that they probably have not been in use lately. As I know there is a connection with poor maintenance and poor food quality so I left without even sitting down. Owners, I know it's expensive but if you do preventative maintenance all along, it won't get backed up like this!! read more

The waitress needs serious training on how to serve customers and ensure that she is placing the correct orders. I was in town for a quick college visit, and we decided to go there around 12:30--they had less than seven patrons, yet still very slow. We were seated at a dirty table, so we moved and told the waitress why we moved--she did not attempt to clean the messy table. She got both of our orders wrong--my son ordered the fried chicken sandwich and got the grilled chicken sandwich, and I ordered the small portion of the riblet basket for $12.99--even pointed it out to her. I received the 1/2 rack of ribs for $17.99--but they were so small that I assumed it was the riblet basket. We had to wait for the silverware--2 forks and one knife rolled up into one. The drinks were never refilled, and our plates were never taken away--even though we purposefully placed them on edge. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone--no wonder so many Applebee's have closed! read more

I went ahead and canceled my order it took so long to come out. Workers are goofing around and not tending to customers. Couldn't even tell me how long it would take to get my food. I would never recommend this business. This location has not been the best for years but it's the only restaurant in Albany open late. We ordered food last night to go for our family totaling approximately $95. It was horrible when I got home. I ordered two steaks. They were so dry and hard we couldn't eat them. Our coleslaw was missing from one order and no condiments requested were given. We had ribs, they were old and dry. The Icecream in my dessert seemed melted and refrozen and the blonde brownie tasted old and stale... So we had two steaks and ribs we didn't eat and a dessert that was old. My baby didn't eat his burger and he loves burgers. Not one bite. They also told me they were out of steak sauce. The person who took my payment last night was rude and had a very nonchalant attitude. I had to ask for a receipt, which was wet and had a hole in it. We contacted the manager last night, "QUAN"... who told my husband he was working tonight and suggested we could come back tonight and he would "make our order over and make it right". We went back tonight and asked for "QUAN" the manager. He took our receipt and we reordered different dishes. When we got our ticket we were charged $70 after he took off a few discounts. QUAN told us he wrote down what he said but we didn't even give that many details so we knew he was lying. We asked for the manager again, he came out and nothing was settled. We just paid the $70 and left. Never again will we spend one dime here. The food is substandard anyway and the service is next level trash. It smells stale in there too... like they need a good deep cleaning... The manager looked like he was about to go to a rappers convention with the way he presented himself. Honestly we were shocked when the manager came out. . I see why there is never many tables filled here. We were one of only a few tables on a Sunday. Do better Apple Bee's... We are done though! Not one more dime from me! And it's dark in the entrance and parking lot... hardly any lighting. Drinks suck too. This place is like it's running itself on autopilot or being ran by kids. I do not go to Applebee's if I do not have too. The service and food is typically NOT good. This was my first time at this Applebee's because of a work get together. It was horrible. They managed to not meet my already low expectations. I will not be back. The service was horribly slow! Drinks and draft beer were slow being made, when the drinks finally came to the table half were not made correctly, the food was cold, salad was old and wilted, and the server blamed the bartender and cook for everything. I got the hamburger special on Monday for $6.99. This was a great deal and the hamburger came with a generous slice of tomato, purple onion, lettuce, and pickles and unlimited fries. I understand covid protocol is still in effect but after waiting 40 mins for a table and going into an almost empty dining room something didn't feel right. Then we waited another 20 mins after drink order was taken to get our beverages. 2 out of 3 of Our appetizers were right the third was completely wrong. Had to ask for refills after cups were empty. Though it was Veterans Day, they weren't as busy as I thought they would be. The atmosphere was good and the food was okay. They put a lot more sauce on the chicken wonton tacos (my most favorite dish) than I care for, but overall it was worth staying for. Their cocktails and drinks from the bar, aren't worth spending on. I ordered takeout and when I went in, there was already another angry customer that had went all the way home with his order and had to come all the way back because his order was missing things. I don't do reviews but this one finally gets one. The food and service continues to go down hill. Previous cold grilled chicken on salad, no dressing for salads, always cold fries, New Year's Eve was last straw of my support. A cheese burger literally cold and hard to the touch. Like it had been setting on the grill all day, rock cold fries, and after 40 minutes waiting, went inside where the had a crowd waiting, and my order was sitting on the shelf, after I called at 30 minutes asking to pay. I called the manager and told him if they want to be a restaurant, then at least act like one. Done with Albany Applebee's after trying to support them along with other restaurants in the area. Amore', Novak's, Gamberettis, others, I'll continue to support where they appreciate the customer and serve hot food. read more

I am not a huge fan of Applebee's. However, this place has impressed me twice now. The food was relatively cheap and decent. The service has been very good both times I've gone recently and the last time we had a couple of children with us, so that is saying something. I ordered the fiesta lime chicken both times and it was really good the first time I tried. The second time it seemed like they cut some corners. The rice wasn't particularly flavorful and it tasted like it came out of a quick-cook rice package or something. The chicken also tasted a little tough, but the cheese and lime flavor helped me get past this. It was overall very good. My wife ordered one of the Sangria's and she really enjoyed it. It cost more than her meal this time around, though, so there's that. We got the buy one get one special and her drink was about 8-9 dollars. It was a large drink, though. I came here with my boyfriend on a Sunday afternoon expecting a nice chilled dinner. However I do not go to Applebee's occasionally due to the reasons I am about to give. First when we walked in, the hostess was standing far away from the podium. She stared at us after we walked in but it took her forever to seat us so she just stood there staring. We ordered our food which is pictured below of mine. My boyfriend order the same thing but had a baked potato and he ordered The macaroni but they brought him broccoli. He didn't feel like sending the waitress back so he dealt with it. I had the broccoli and cheese and it tasted like it had just came from the garden and they put water on it and added cheese. I can't say that my steak and mashed potatoes were good though. Keep in mind that Applebee's was not full, but I asked our waiter for our check because we had to go; we waited and waited and 33 minutes past. I then went to the bar and I contacted the manager! He brought us our check but lo and behold the macaroni was still on the ticket. I also advised him we had been waiting 33 minutes for a print out of the check. I do not look for free food but I was looking for some type of accommodation for having us late after I stated we needed to leave. I probably won't be back to Applebee's for a minute. read more

The restaurant was slow that day however the customer service was just as slow. The waiter did ask multiple times if we were ready however we weren't yet. When we were ready it took forever for the server to come back and check on us. Individuals who came in after us had been seated, served, and left before we even got our food. When we did receive our food. It wasn't as hot as we were expecting it especially after being there for over an hour. The waiter left as soon as she brought the food so we weren't able to explain what else we needed or if everything was correct. They forgot my bread, I had to ask another waiter to bring me a bread. In addition to that, I asked my waiter to bring me a knife and parmesan cheese; by the time I received all of that my food was cold. I ultimately didnot eat my food and asked for a togo box. They brought the other person a hamburger when they ordered the classic cheeseburger. They didn't bring the fries, we had to ask about those and that took an additional 10 minutes to come. He also asked for mayo and they brought bbq sauce. When asked bout the cheese they brought a slice of cheese on a plate. The experience made me not want to eat there again. read more
