It appears this location hasn't had a review posted on a very long time - or in modern terms; since the pandemic started. This store, as Apple Stores can be, is usually chocker full and is on the hectic side to say the least. This particular visit, wasn't like that. Not that it wasn't busy, but it wasn't bursting at the seems. It wasn't a weekend and the weather was a bit stormy, so maybe that limited the patrons to a smaller Apple loving herd. What ever the reason I'll take it - since there was no wait to see a team member. They literally said hello, and within a few seconds I was speaking with Hawa who was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. The communications were in down-to-earth easy to understand terms and not the tech speak that sometimes seems requisite in a technology shop. All the questions I had were answered and others that came up during the session. We solved it all and it took less than a half an hour. Overall it was a nice, simple, easy in-and-out-get-er-done experience. So high fives all around! read more

I've never written a review on Google until now. My experience at this store has been so awful that I felt like it was due time to make this public so they can perhaps make some changes (though they have not responded to any bad reviews, so I doubt this will do anything). My MacBook Pro's keyboard was recalled in 2019 for not working correctly. Sticky keys, repeating letters or no responses at all. Read online that this was a problem with MacBook Pro's made in early 2018. Made an appointment after speaking with Apple Support who said it was in fact a problem with this model and that I should be covered under the Keyboard Coverage Program and even though I was outside of the 4-year coverage they would make an exception and I could take it in. When I did take it in, they had it for three days and told me to come back. Upon returning, the technician told me that they ordered the parts and wanted me to pay for a battery. I told them I had no interest in that as this was a keyboard issue. So I came back and dropped off the computer once the parts came in. A couple days later I got an email to call the store. The person I spoke to said I needed to pay over $1000 to replace the logic board and keyboard because there was "water damage". Of course the rep couldn't provide me any more information. I asked for her to escalate it to a manager but never received a call. After waiting, I finally decided to call the Apple Support line and got into quite an argument with the supervisor. Again he confirmed that the keyboard (butterfly keyboard) was covered but they wouldn't work on it because the logic board needed to be replaced. I had NEVER spilt any liquids on my computer even though they said O did and have had no issues with liquids. The keyboard was faulty from the beginning! The Keyboard Coverage Program was put out by Apple less than a year after I purchased the computer so the problem was already existing. The supervisor and I went around in circles with me finally giving up and him saying I could go by the store to pick up the computer. I was just going to have to live with the crappy product they provided me with. Went to the store and waited 45 minutes to pick it up even though I got an email 5 hours before saying it was ready. I was one of the last customers in the store! 30 minutes after they closed! When I got back home, the first thing I noticed was my Touch ID was now not working. It was working when I dropped it off, but not anymore. Unbelievable. Sooo, again, I went in the next day to have them run an AST2 diagnosis so they could serialize the ID to the existing motherboard, which I found here: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/550341/Maximum+Fingerprint+Limit+Reached+after+Top-Case+Replacement A manager came over and I told him what wasn't working and that it was working before I dropped it off. He argued with me saying it was because of water damage and there was nothing he could do. I kept asking if a tech could serialize the touch ID but the manager said "you seem to know more than me, so I can't help you". We went back and forth and I kept saying it was working when I dropped it off. He said it's part of the water damage and refused to try anything. Finally, he laid down my computer on the table, told me to leave the store and he went in the back and closed the door. So I'm sitting there with my computer and no one helping me. I felt so upset and flustered that I left with a broken computer in my hand that they were responsible for breaking. Terrible management. Got home, called Apple Support who agreed that the service was rotten and that they would replace my logic board FOR FREE because they broke it. Unbelievable. Have to go back in tomorrow to drop off my computer for the fourth time so they can replace the logic, so hopefully I won't get more attitude from the supervisors there. Terrible service, terrible management who don't care about your purchases or their customers. I have NEVER been asked to leave a store and am so appalled that they treated me like this! read more

I take really good care of my Iphone, *knock on wood*, so I only come here to check out the latest releases and sometimes to shop around for a new phone case. If anything is broken it would be me headphones or my charging cable. Each time I come in, the staff is nice and helpful. It only takes them 2 minutes to replace broken headphones or a charging cable. As long as you are within warranty, it's free. I find that booking a day in advance always yields the best times. People tend to book their appointments the day of and that's why the schedule fills up fast. I always like coming in here, it's always fun :) read more

Wish I could give it negative stars. After waiting for an appointment and explaining the issue with my phone and having tests run, I was immediately told that my tests came back showing that my phone couldn't be repaired because the hardware was broken and that I would have to pay for a new one. They then proceeded to waste 4 hours of my time before telling me I would have to come back 3 days later to buy the new phone. I ended up calling the actual Apple people (not from the store) and was informed that the Montreal Apple store people had LIED about the results of my tests. The told me that my phone was broken when in reality my problem was due to a known issue with the iOS 13 and did not have anything to do with my actual phone. They also lied and told me that my phone reportedly came up as having been replaced once before when it hasn't (the other Apple people confirmed that my account never once showed that). All in all this store is employed by a bunch of scam artists only interested in making you buy a new phone. read more

Worst experience ever, cause of the COVID 19, i waited at outside for 5 mins, and one staff came over asked me: " did you checked the product that you going to buy?" I said: "i want to check and see the MacBook Air in the store." Then he goes: "there are photos in the website, you should checked before coming here." I mean WTF? are objects and photos comparable???? the worst was just beginning, i went in and another person came over and i said i want to buy a computer. He then turned on the computer and clicked one website to show me the content on the website......(i mean wtf, i could do that shit at home) so, i asked if you have samples? He pointed to a rose colored computer on the table. Caz i dont like rose colors, i asked him , do you have samples of the other two colors, i want to check out. Here goes the worst part, he showed me one colors on MacBook Pro and one colors on a iPad, and said to me the colors is the same. i havent figured it out until now, does he even understand English？i was talking about the same product, he actually showed me three different products, and there was no introduction at all. i repeated my appeal at the time, however he replied very rudely:"colors are all the same." I guess, we are all human, but we are all not the same. Next, he stood there without saying a word and started to wipe the computer with alcohol, while i still waiting for him to answer me. My experience with Apple Sainte-Catherine Spend 8k on broken laptops at this location the past 9 months. Bring my 6 week old 5,000$ laptop in because the screen went blank. They tell me it's surface damage, there's a crack in the screen, it's my fault and I need to pay 1k. Speak to their manager, she says she feels bad for me but there's nothing she can do (bullshit). Feeling helpless because my business depends on me having a functional laptop (and my 7 month old backup laptop is also broken, a whole other Apple fail story) I tell them to move ahead with the repairs. Call Apple Support on Monday. Speak to a nice Senior Advisor who after an hour of checking everything regarding my case, speaks to the store, and waived my 1k fee because they value me as a customer and there seems to be a dispute on if I did the damage or not. Call Apple Ste Catherine on Tuesday says my laptop will be ready later in the day. Call back later in the day to which they then say only tomorrow. Call back this morning say they will be ready by end of day. Call back this afternoon say they will be ready only tomorrow. After explaining how unfair this is and how they keep feeding me false info which is deterring me from doing work, they finally tell me it will be ready tonight. Get there tonight, tell them what happened, they said there are no notes in my case, that I didn't speak to anyone (treating me as if I made this up in my head) and I need to pay the 1k. Start getting upset tell them I did, in fact, speak to someone and that they are losing a customer. ARROGANT & RUDE MANAGER ACCUSES me of doing the damage to my own computer, Apple Support is a third party hired by them and don't have any say re their practices that no one would ever agree to exempt this charge and that they have final say on everything. Told me I can come back tomorrow but their mind wouldn't be changed, I absolutely cannot get my computer back without dishing out the 1k despite my protests that this was resolved by Apple Support on Monday. Told them they didn't value their customers, they said they treat all their customers the same - BULLSHIT. If all Apple employees treated their customers this way they wouldn't be a multi-billion dollar company. Moral of the story - NEVER step foot in Apple Sainte-Catherine and deal with their incompetent and rude employees if you want to save yourself from an anxiety attack. HR Department should also retrain their staff to act compassionate and understanding to each and every single one of their customers. There are ways to deal with upset customers, and Apple Sainte-Catherine FAILS on all fronts. I would give them a 0 star review if this was possible. read more

Apple period has always been an added stress in my life! But this Montreal location is always a trip! Imagine waking up, opening your computer to a black screen "Death Screen" reading TONS of articles and complaints about this, attempting the troubleshooting online with no success! Then having to go into Apple with no physical damage, no water damage, no visible issues! Reminding them that they changed 3 main components THIS time last year OUT OF WARRANTY to hear that this time you have to come out of pocket $600 for a new screen and no one can explain to you how the issue could've happened! I'm exhausted. Meanwhile my keyboard doesn't work! Trackpad doesn't work but they're insistent that I just need a new screen! I have no words! read more

I've had apple products for more than 10 years and in store services have been sinking down. However today the hit the bottom... I had an appointment at 3:30pm. I got there on time. 5 min at the checkpoint outside as if we're getting into a military base, then having to follow a line of 1/2 meter wide and to stand on the tiny red dots and if we move we get a warning in a disgusting way. I chose to leave without getting my macbook repaired as I felt I was treated as if I was in a detention centre. I definitely didn't feel they care about me neither my safety, rather they wanted to give an impression they care while they apply ugly forms of control. They've definitely lost their battle with such exaggerated security measures. read more

I am reviewing the store, not the product here. I adore Apple, I have an: iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, etc. My old MacBook pro served me well, 6 years of kickass service but it had become so slow and I had about 23 seconds of battery life at a time, not good. I skipped on down down to the Mac store on Ste Catherine and it was a quiet night there. I had made an appointment at the Genius Bar so that I could get some tips on how to get all of my old files onto the new laptop that I was buying. 1500$ later and 4 different 'genius' sales people later, I had my new laptop purchased and I was heading upstairs to my genius appointment. They told me that they could in fact, not help me and that I would need to purchase the 80$ Mac One-to-One deal if I wanted help (seriously?) I made it clear that all I wanted was for them to transfer my stuff from iPhoto and iTunes from my old Mac to my new Mac because I am a busy lady. Finally after telling me they would do it but that it would take 3 days, I walked out and said 'screw this' and I figured it out on my own, at home in like 2.5 minutes. Screw you Apple store, you were of zero help. I adore your products, but you should not be walking around calling yourself a 'genius' by any stretch of the imagination you money grabbing punk asses. read more

I shouldn't say it but I will. Dear Apple, suck my left nut. My first iPhone's speaker broke within 3 months. It was fortunately replaced on the spot after much back and forth. My new 4s' power button is broken, an issue so common that you have now authorized replacements on the 5, but not the others (this is also what cost me my itouch). Your Genius Bar tells me its a 2 hr wait despite the number of staff chatting in groups, laughing and saying "you're so bad!" Other than the one staff member who told me that the flaw in your design (that you have acknowledged) is going to cost me $200 the rest of your staff today have been shockingly useless. This is a "flagship" Apple store, as opposed to a standard one. It is singularly unique with bold architectural flare. It looks like no other Apple store you have seen. Of course this also means the narrow minded among us will no doubt complain about something - and perhaps not even come. This might be an additional reason to visit! Pragmatically, it's a good store. Everything I've ever needed has been in stock. It's well staffed and I have always found someone eager to help (unlike some Apple stores where it's impossible to make eye contact with anyone). They have a Genius bar as well as on staff "creatives" who will help with projects and ideas. read more

Updated: I stopped by the Apple store yesterday to set up my phone and activate it on my network. As my previous review will attest, I was pretty impressed with the level of service that I received from Clara a few weeks ago, and truth be told, I was skeptical that I'd get the same high level of service twice in a row. I mean, what are the odds? The guy 'assigned' to me this time around was Brenton (HI!). Based on the number of times his colleagues harassed him while I was there (a LOT), I assessed that I was in pretty good hands because he's the resident iPhone guru. I would dock points off for all these interruptions, were it not for the amazing service that Brenton provided. Not only did he walk me through the set-up process, but he also took the time to answer all my questions (I had a lot!), offered tips and suggestions based on his own experiences, and took a detour to show me the perks of iPhoto (way better than Preview if you're using a Mac and are into photography). Brenton is the definition of customer service at its best - he's knowledgeable, patient and super friendly. He takes the necessary time to get the job done right. Hey Apple - give this guy a raise! Also, get him an assistant - I think he needs one ;) read more

I called in the morning to check my Macbook, since the battery needed a replacement. They gave me a very late appointment at 2:30 PM. I come here and I see the huge crowd of customers hovering around tables and there's little space to stand. They take me in and tell me that my laptop will be ready for a pickup later in the day or at most the day after at 11 am. I leave the place and receive a call approximately an hour later and they tell me that it's ready to be picked up. I go upstairs again and I encounter the over crowded scene one more time. Fortunately, they had cleaned my laptop and it made me feel slightly better. They charge a lot for every single thing you need to replace. In addition to the battery, I replaced the shoes of my laptop (Yes, those small black plastic circles are called shoes they tell me) and each cost $10! So, my entire bill came about $194. This store smells so bad. When I walked in the other day it was like stepping into dirty public transportation - that subway/bus smell. I HATE that smell. I think that smell is pretty universal in most public transportation in North America - but to smell that in the Apple Store? Sure, it is the pit stop for the homeless to check their email, but someone has got to kick out the loiterers and hang up an air-freshener. Seriously. There are tons of staff people milling around in their dorky blue shirts being all Apple-culture-y. They are not all that friendly. Some are okay, but some just are plain stoned. You have to wait in a lineup at the top of the stairs to talk to one of the people holding an iPad making appointments in order to do anything service related. They should structure this better. I hate waiting in a line up on stairs. I feel like I'm in school. It just is so disorganized in this Apple store. Service is totally slow, even on a quiet day. I hate the set up of staff just all over the place with no apparent structure. But that is not unique to this Apple store, but to all Apple stores. I guess if I want more organization and rigidity, I have to turn back to my old IBM-Love and his entourage of Microsoft nerds. Okay, in summary AND in order of importance: 1. This place smells bad and they have to do something to freshen the air 2. Make the check-in point for service in a better location so you are not trapped behind the masses on the stairs 3. Just what one expect from an Apple Store. Highly organized and - despite the possibility of wait times at certain moments of the day - always a pretty seemless experience. I've only dropped by to purchase stuff or get a repair, so I can't comment on the customer service experience around returns or "education" (i.e., lessons - which seem to be offered there). I'm not sure why but the Apple Store service has gone down by at least 75% in-store. I used to like going there and listening to the Geniuses and finding out stuff, but lately it feels like unless they are summoned, by waving your hand in front of their faces, they really are just waiting to go on break or go home. Is it customer fatigue...does Apple pay crappy..is it because of the English language laws? I was actually going to buy an iPad when I made it a destination today, but when I had to wave my hand in front of a 'blue shirt' she was like, 'I'm actually dealing with something' and all I wanted was directions to the iPad table, it took her longer to say she couldn't help me, and point me to another agent or the table then it did to explain that she couldn't take any questions and that she was busy. Today I went to check at the genius bar my MacAir which was giving a batttery service warning. My computer is old (2011) but in perfect state. We were attended by a super nice person who said that unfortunately my computer was "vintage" and Apple did not have parts but suggested me where to go and the suggestion was perfect and I had the MacAir repaired. Also he helped me to fix my Apple watch which was stuck because I had to change phone and mess up everything. So the place deserves a 10/10 because helpful, profesional and great. read more

This a review based on multiple visits - I am always served in a friendly and efficient manner. The ground floor has a nice open layout that lets you browse all the electronics with ease. The upstairs has the Genius Bar and all the various accessories. This section is always packed. It's important to book ahead if you can because otherwise your wait could be quite long. I've had to have several repairs done on a variety of apple products. Each time I've had great service and many times the products were replaced without charge. It's a great store to visit and I recommend it highly if you like apple products. read more

tried to get an appointment at the genius bar for the imac that has the white screen of death. tried 3 devices to make the appointment but the page with the id/pw kept saying the id or pw was wrong even after resetting it or making a new one. I went into this store last week to get my MacBook Pro checked out, as it wasn't working. I was met by a nice group of employees and the Apple Genius who helped me was great at what he did and was a good conversationalist. However, the problem I experienced was today. It had been 6 days since I dropped off my Mac and I hadn't been contacted. I decided to go to the apple store to check if the repair was completed; this was because I did not have access to my email except for on my laptop and so I thought maybe they tried to contact me. I walked in and asked the worker who first saw me if it was ready and explained that I hadn't received any contact and that this was probably because I had no access to my email. The first thing she said was that I could have contacted them by phone. This was a good suggestion and I appreciate that, but she said it in a condescending tone like I was a child. I'm the kind of person who tries to be a nice customer and understand that maybe the worker is having a bad day, so I let it go. To my luck the laptop was ready for pickup. She goes into the back and brings out my laptop. I ask her if I could be contacted by phone next time as it would be a better way of contacting me. She tells me that they did contact me and that my voicemail was not set up. My voicemail is set up. This whole time she keeps blaming me for not receiving the message. Here is some information that may help in the future. If you are the messenger, in any situation, it is your job to make sure the message is received not the receiver. How am I supposed to know that someone is trying to send me a message? Still through this I say that maybe it wasn't either of our faults and something happened that was just out of our control. Only then does she acknowledge that maybe there was a misdial. However she still said this in a you-are-the-most-stupid-person-I-will-say-this-to-make-you-feel-better tone. To make it so that only one of us would have to walk away with a bad day, I left with a smile on my face, but deep down I was actually really hurt and frusterated. I left the store knowing that someone felt that I was stupid and had to show it to me. This was really annoying as I go to McGill, I do not need some apple worker to make me feel stupid when I am already stressed about university. Secondly, I am a customer it is not my occupation to make you have a good day, you work in customer service, it is yours. Apparently my moral compass is better than the training she received. Lastly, I checked my email and I didn't receive a message from Apple. I normally would not write a review, but I was left with a sour taste from this situation. Have you ever watched a nature doc on the Queen bee and the honey bees are fast at work flying, hovering and stopping, then take off again. If bees wore blue tshirts and had headsets and iphones holstered to their hands then this Apple Store is the hive. Only the Queen in this case, is in Cupertino. So yeah, every time I've come in here, everyone is running around, and swarms of people are hunched over or looking around, people walking up or down the stares with either delight in their eyes, or a certain emptiness where the reflection of a couple of Monopoly moneybags have sprouted wings. It is grand in there, it is large, and probably larger if there weren't so many people there. I had to get a replacement charger from there, and as I lined up to pay, a small blue shirted bee happily poached me and offered to help me out. I was in and out in about 14 minutes. No greeting at the door, in or out, but the second I had goods in my hands, I saw smiles galore and walked out with one monopoly money bag reflection flying away. But it is a Macbook that I have and cherish, and I know I spent more time gazing into it, than any other human or object in the world right now. read more

Though the Genius was unable to fix my apparently coffee-soaked laptop (wha? who?) I can't really hold Apple responsible (though I'd like to) and my review must rest on the ease of booking an appointment online for free smart, friendly tech help in a beautiful building. Booking at 9am was smart since the store was closed the vibe was quiet. The only people there were getting help like me, or learning Aperture or how to check their emails or something. The floor to ceiling windows and soft light and giant tables make the second floor a nice space both to learn and to shop (or mind shop) for beautifully designed and pricey products. read more

Second time here in 2 days...after 3 hours on the phone with apple support. First time I was a few mins late to my scheduled appointment and was told I lost my appointment time because I was late... today I arrived at 9:58 AM and the store was already open, but it opens at 10 AM? Now I've been sitting for 45 mins while the geniuses stand around or help others. All this while I'm on a long weekend vacation... my phone hasn't worked since I landed in Montreal... just searching... Get it together! Fred was great. Bought computer in US so he had to work with manager to get a defective MacBook Pro exchanged. Process was quick and painless. 11:30 appointment and I walked out with a new MacBook Pro right now at 12:10. All things considered, it was pretty amazing. read more

It's plagued with stupidity, ex. walked in with a macbook pro battery that had swelled right up, they tell me apple will replace it, but make an appointment, arg!, so make an appointment and have to waste a good part of my morning the next day again! On the way out, I want to ask a couple of questions regarding my iPhone upgrade with Rogers, "sure!" But you have to make an appointment!!! At this point I just walk out. Next day 25min after my scheduled appointment time, the so called engineer tells me that he can fix it if I pay $200 for a new battery, I was quite insulted because not only did they waste my entire morning, and assumed I couldn't replace a battery that... well fell right out. I wasted my entire morning when I could have ordered online for less then 10min. I decided not to buy it there, apple will still get the money, but not that store, it's the last time I visit that place. read more
