i took my not-well non-technical sister to Apple Milton Keynes today with queries about her dysfunctional MacBook Pro. She had previously been to the Apple Shop in Kingston and had not had a considered or helpful experience. After today i cannot speak highly enough of Apple Milton Keynes and in particular Alex, who served my sister with courtesy, care and moved on the repair of her MacBook so swiftly and fully, that my sister was in tears. She had felt so let down, and she now felt like she had been heard and understood. the broken machine had caused her a lot of stress, as had being told she was responsible for problems when she wasn't (she did take responsibility for the one thing she had caused). i really want to thank and acknowledge Alex and the store for their assistance today. i assume from this that that there is a culture of great service to customers at this store. read more

This is my favorite kind of store. They allow you to "try before you buy". Apple team is always very friendly and ready to help. Maybe I would give them 5 stars if not the experience after purchasing iPhone 4. After few visits in store and throughout the investigation they finally replaced my phone. If you can not make or take calls (freely) through your new Iphone who should find the reasons? It sounded a little bit funny when they asked me to take notes when the phone disconnects my calls - especially since I use this phone for business calls. Ok, so I totally came here under duress: I was in a total panic because my MacBook was making bizarre noises and the online appointment scheduler claimed that there were literally no London-based "Genius appointments" for days. So, y'know, you do what you have to for YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION. [no, but seriously: it's only when you realize you might lose all of your weird unfinished Word docs and half-watched episodes of The Mindy Project *awkwardcough* that it hits how important the ol' laptop is] So, a lot about this store is standard Apple Store: clean, modern, minimalist, people clustered around tables and a lot of kids on break from school using the computers to...I don't know. I didn't look. I always get a little weirded out when the staff member with an iPad greets you RIGHT WHEN YOU STEP IN. As if the store is VIP-only. Or you have to have a purpose to browse (I know, I know, it's to help with efficiency, but sometimes it's a little jarring). Totally friendly, though. I can't confirm whether the staff are, indeed, "Genius"es, but they did see me within a few minutes of my scheduled appointment time, and no one rushed us (much appreciated). They took my computer (mah bay-bee!), and although they said it could be up to 2 days, they called later that night to say I could pick it up. Great. Thanks. If possible, recommendations: weekdays, first thing in the morning are much less harried than, say, mid-day on a Saturday. Yelp note: I still don't get the concept of pay-parking at a mall. Like, isn't that a *disincentive* to walk around and spend wildly with nary a care about time? This feature ends up being especially tricky when you're fixing your computer and don't know how long it'll take. So what I'm really saying is: if you're heading to the mall in the MK, make sure you have a generous pocketful of change. read more

How nice does the big apple above the door look! Typical Apple store, layout as usual. Upstairs (the glass stairs look lovely but eek! feel too weird to go up them) there is the genius bar where you can talk to someone who knows their stuff. If you log onto the apple website you can book a session with a genius there. I recently had to have my macbook repaired as the dvd drive had failed. I was booked in to see a genius within a day, I took it in at 10 in the morning. I was told it would take around 5-6 days to do but had a call the next day to say I could collect it. And here is the good bit, it was fixed! read more

The Apple store in Milton Keynes is not just a 'shop' but it is a shopping experience. Everything looks very smart and tidy in there and it never feels busy even when it is. They have all of their laptops, desktops, ipods ad speakers out for you to trial and each of the staff have their own ipod on them too, which is a really nice way to get a feel for something you are planning on buying. All their staff ar every helpful and friendly and they are really knowledgeable in what they are selling. There is also a service upstairs which will help you fix any problems you have and answer any questions you have. It's a really nice place to visit, even if you don't have the money to buy! Ladies, the opening of this store is the best thing to happen to this mall. Drop your guy off here, and chances are he'll be more than happy to browse around for a couple hours while you shop! But seriously, Apple stores are amazing. Their staff are uber helpful, you get to try everything before you buy, and the staff even seem reluctant to let you buy something without trying. They're also perfectly happy for you to stand at their computers checking your email, or even the weather for all they care. A brilliant sales strategy. They have a genius bar at this store (I think most do now a days) so if you have any problems with your mac product you can sign up for an appointment with them. read more

It is very easy to book an appointment if you want to buy any Apple products but almost impossible to book an appointment to get my iPhone repaired. I suspect they have blanked out the diary so they can sell more as they don't seem particularly bothered about their customers. They only book up to a week in advance and every single slot is taken. Or I can send my phone off, but I have to pay the FULL replacement cost in advance and if they can't or choose not to repair it, they will just replace it at my expense. read more

Awful store, just awful. Customer service is non-existent. Don't ever leave the store with an issue unresolved. They'll send you an email, if you're lucky, with a new appointment time but woe betide you if it's not convenient because they won't answer the phone number they've sent you to rearrange so you may never get the issue resolved. Absolutely appalling service with no recourse. read more

Genius Bar upstairs has some people who really know their stuff; one, for example, is a programmer of the old SGI Iris, meaning he's been doing techy stuff for well over a decade. I love the apple store situated in the new Midsummer shopping centre part. Spent many a happy hour or two in here while the wife shops. They have all their latest laptops and iPod equipment on display that they are happy to let you play with. If your wife has dragged you out while the footy or the cricket is on what better place to catch up on the latest. The only thing missing are chairs and a coffee bar. Apple stores are the same the world over some are slightly smaller, some are slightly bigger but they are all staffed by friendly, helpful knowledgeable people who are selling some of the best equipment available what more could youask for. Oh you would like to be able to access the internet free and check your email or the latest football scores - no problem. A wonderful store offering great products. read more

With the huge popularity of iPod's, it was no surprise that this store popped up in central Milton Keynes Shopping Centre. The Apple store is reasonably large and pretty spacious, allowing people to peruse all the latest technology. There are usually several members of staff on the floor and they are extremely helpful, polite and knowledgeable about their subject. I recently wanted to purchase an iPod but wasn't too clear on the technology and what the different variations could do. I thought this store would be the most likely to be able to help me out and I was not disappointed. If you're into your gadget then this is the place for you. read more

I have never had such bad service via the phone help line, Technical Support, and then trying to get an appointment that actually suits you and not the shop or anybody else except me. Previously we have had a few trips to the store with our iphone 6 plus, and you all know that it is not a cheap phone, eventually had it changed and replaced (after 4 months) , and guess what? The new phone wasn't' working neither after just having had it under 24 hours. The technical advisor on the phone (1.5 hours later) realised and stated that it wasn't my computer that had a fault and that it must be the phone and could we make an appointment. So instead of yet cancelling another days work just to change the phone, which should have worked in the first place I wanted an appointment for a Friday. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo We couldn't have an appointment on my day off or on a Saturday that week. Surely you agree with me that nowadays you can't live without your phone for a day, never mind a whole 7 days. Three hours later we had no Luck, no appointment and no phone that wasn't working and to top it all Milton Keynes Store would not pick up their phone and talk to the Technical Supervisor. So maybe instead of having so many staff standing on the door and on the shop floor trying to sell you their products, they should employ somebody to pick up the phone in the store and talk to people who, after now having been on the phone for nearly 3 hours, could have maybe helped me to sort and replace the new iPhone 6 plus. Today my husband and I drove 45 minutes to this location to purchase an imac for our daughter who attends university. When I explained that we would be purchasing the computer for our daughter and inquired about the educational discount, we were told that we would need to produce her student ID. Not wanting to leave empty-handed I tried to suggest various ways that we could somehow prove that our daughter is a university student. I suggested that we have her photograph her ID on her phone and send it over. I then suggested maybe purchasing the computer without the discount and then returning with her and her ID over the weekend and being reimbursed for the discount. -The young man who helped us (if you call it that-he had a pulse) had no capacity to think outside of the box and actually make a sale happen. I don't understand why it's so difficult to actually give people your money for a product these days. -Apple created Apple stores with the vision and goal of giving the customer the most positive shopping experience and stream-lining the purchase process. We ended up going back home and ordering the computer via the Apple website and had no problem at all with recieving the discount by emailing a photo of our daughter's student ID. read more

What a shame. Went in for some accessories for my watch and new iPad Pro 9.7. Selected a case, a watch charging stand and a new strap. Then the hell of trying to pay. I went up to someone who was doing nothing. He directed me to someone who was talking to a customer. Went over and waited for him to become free. He did and then promptly directed me to someone else who 'would be available sooner'. No, Apple, I am not being passed from person to person because you've forgotten what customer service is. I put the items back and started to leave at which point the person who had been too busy doing nothing called over to me and advised he could take payment. Really! You know what? No, I will still buy the accessories because I want them but not from your stores. I'll buy them from John Lewis where they understand customer service and with whom you will have to share your margin, meaning you will now make less on your products. Shame you can't seem to get the service offering right. We all know your products are overpriced but I like them, I like the feeling of security and I like the stance you take corporately on many issues. I just wish you could lose the attitude in the stores and make them better places to spend time, staffed with people who want to provide the kind of service you should aim to deliver. read more
