This is the summary of my two (and only) experiences at this store... 2 STARS!!! My first Apple Store visit was LAME. I should have known better. I'm a 60 year old dude, probably 20 years behind in tech. I'm a caveman. My only Apple product is a used iPhone SE I got from my elderly mother 2 months ago. She lost it under her recliner, she got a new one, she found the old one, she gave the old one to me, and neither one of us even registered it with Apple. Get the picture? My business partner inspired me to dive into Apple products and to give them a chance. So I decided to drive to the Apple Store at Rosedale, alive and IRL, with $2000 cash to buy the newest iMac in vibrant peachy orange! I also got a wireless mouse, a matching full sized wireless keyboard, yada, yada, yada. What could go wrong? Right? My simple purchase turned into a 3 hour long nightmare. I was actually there for nearly two hours after closing, in a dark empty mall. Apple doesn't take cash payments for their stuff. But they magically take cash for gift cards. So it was my cash...converted to several gift cards...used for my iMac payment. Easy, right? No, not for the great and mighty Apple Corporation. The transaction failed with an immediate halt. And it took geniuses and managers 3 hours to figure it out. Sad. Only Apple could completely fail and turn a simple 5 minute cash transaction into a 3 hour long nightmare. What a joke. To add insult to injury, they kept asking me for my Apple ID. How many times do I have to tell them? I have NO Apple ID yet! I'm a brand new Apple customer. Get it? But no - no they did NOT get it. No comprende, amigos and amigas. Like watching paint dry...I observed multiple managers scratching their heads, lots of honchos in frantic conversations, geniuses rubbing their temples, multiple calls to Apple corporate HQ in CALI, I heard comments hinting at lots of weird corporate obstructions, I made a couple threats to cancel & demand my cash, I got bribes of free items to lure me into not to giving up...etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. I would have preferred to be water boarded. But I'm a stubborn Scotsman...embrace the suck, hold fast til the end. I'm down for the pain. What is the stupid bottom line summary, you ask? After 3 hours...when added up...the cards were 53 dollars short for my purchases. So my transaction failed. I just had to hand them an extra Ben Franklin hundo. Dumb. 4 STARS!!! My second Apple Store experience was GOOD. I was having some basic issues with my "new" used phone. My assigned genius got to me immediately -- no wait. And he was awesome. He helped me reconcile multiple Apple IDs (it's a long story), he gave me the skinny on apps, he helped me cleanup some silliness on my phone, and he answered several of my idiotic newbie questions. BTW, I have to acknowledge and salute the Hipsters, I counted at least 3 man buns on premises at Apple. I spied them in northern CALI trendy spots about 10 years ago. At the time, I predicted they'd migrate East and appear on the crowns of Minnesota Hipsters in 10 years. And I WAS RIGHT! I saw 3 in one day at Apple! I saw a genius wearing a kilt too. That one warmed my heart. Thanks, Apple! You redeemed yourself. I promise to never pay for an Apple product with a United States of America paper note, "legal tender for all debts, public and private", ever ever ever again. I guess Apple sets U.S. monetary policy now. Do I get to vote for the CEO? All hail Apple, I guess. read more

The manager was great but the person who helped us set up our phones told me misleading information that led to me being locked out of my apple account with no way of getting access. I forgot my icloud password. I did the one hour wait thing to reset my password but it wasn't for the right account. I just got off an hour long phone call with apple support and I now have to wait a week to even try to gain access to my account. So now I have one phone that can make calls & texts, and another for my non-apple apps. I learned a valuable lesson today, not all apple stores are created equal. read more

Went to the Apple Store in Rosedale today and had a disappointing experience. I waited over an hour and a half past my scheduled reservation time for a watch repair. The staff didn't seem very friendly and looked frustrated dealing with customers. I get that they were busy, but it still felt unprofessional given how long I waited. Iphone was spontaneously rebooting. Googled, said it was bad battery. Looked in settings, saw battery notice. Got Apple store appt, came in. Hard to figure out who to talk to, staff wears a variety of blue shirts w subtle marks. No real desk. Someone pointed this out to me, got help. Staff person did diagnostic test, sold battery replacement. Came back 2 hrs later, paid, left. Phone rebooted on its own 4 times before i pulled out of parking space! Went back. Different person did different test, showed that circuit board defective. Need new phone. After polite discussion and lots of waiting, still had to pay for useless battery upgrade. Staff agreed w me that it was unfair, they should have run the second test before just assuming it was battery (which did need replacement as well), but they are helpless. So, confusing store layout, poor service to begin with, helpless staff in face of patently unfair policy. Not much choice though with Apple. Sad. read more

I had to go in to get my battery replaced on my phone. When I arrived the place was jam packed but for how busy it was, I was seen fairly quickly. The manager (his first name starts with M) was so kind and helpful. I asked him if he thought my Amazon charger ruined my battery and if I should buy an apple charger. He told me he didn't think it was messing with my battery and that it wasn't necessary to buy another charger. I appreciate his honesty so much and will be coming back to him. read more

Customer service is really excellent. The problem is the venue. The main activity at this store is multiple conversations; many going on at once. Yet the interior design is that of a hushed boutique. This disconnect creates a space with a constant cacophony of noise that is bounced and reflected off of the hard floors to the smooth, hard ceiling and walls. A visit to this store could be a pleasant experience with the help of an interior designer with experience in acoustic techniques. It's surprising that a company as well funded as Apple does not have the awareness or resources to make the experience of visiting their store less irritating. read more

Dropped off my daughter's MacBook Pro with a Genius Bar appointment. Didn't have to wait long for Alex to help us. He did a diagnosis on her laptop and found no other problems other than the laptop battery. It's being shipped overnight to their repair facility and it will be shipped back to the store for pickup on Saturday. MacBook Pro (2017 model) has a battery that is part of the keyboard, trackpad and Touch Bar. So changing the battery means replacing it all. $249 for the battery replacement. read more

I would recommend the in store class: Photo Skills-Photography on iPhone for anyone who uses their iPhone camera. Our instructor, Dave was awesome teaching us ALL at LEAST 1-3 things about using the new iPhone camera functions. As an Apple Sage once said, "You know what you know", meaning you probably don't even know what you're not aware of....which I found to be totally true in this class. The "Hidden" feature on our phones, how to SAFELY hand off your phone to strangers for that photo without giving them access to YOUR information, how to lock into the AE/AF...all things I learned in this hour long class! Now Apple has loaded even more photography classes: Photo Editing, Photo Tour (Portraits) (Framing Architecture), Video on your iPhone. I want to be a better Yelper & have great photos (videos coming soon), so this class was invaluable to me. Thank you Dave! (oh yeah-he was the Apple Sage that I quoted above). At the mall north of Minneapolis - Roseville - you will find this Apple Store, and I'm not a big fan of the way that they do things, which is to lock you in for a later appointment when you need something done ASAP, even if it's only a little something. It's a little bit hectic at this location cuz the mall is hectic and sometimes there's a long wait time just to get an appointment so you can come back and then wait again. Since I was leaving town the next day and they had no time for me, I wasted my time being in here in the first place. The "run around on support" is a huge waste of time. One group refers you to another - then that one can't help....then another "solution". When I purchased the iPad I was promised support from the business support team. Hard to get a phone number. Stop by the store....and they try to help and refer me to the business support group. Someone from business support calls and leaves a strange message. I return the call, and no one responds. I call back a week or so later and am perfectly pleasant and from the get go I got nothing but aggressively bad attitude from the business support consultant. Wow. She needs a little training on customer service and attitude!! read more

SHAME ON APPLE!!! Do not trust these people! I brought them my iPhone which had bricked when I updated to iOS18. The tech told me it needed a new board for $350+. That was a lie. I took it to CellTech, which is in the same mall, Rosedale, but in a kiosk. Aryan tried several things, and then restored iOS17, and the phone worked again. The Apple people just wanted to gouge some more money from me. SHAME ON THEM! I'll be back in to discuss this with the manager, and then post it everywhere that I can, including the FTC!!! read more

I was disappointed in my experience at this Apple Store. I was greeted at the door, asked if I needed help. I was just browsing (I like making up my mind BEFORE salespeople get involved). The greeter smiled and said to let them know if I had questions. It was a strong start. Which probably made the rest of it even more disappointing. I finally decided on my phone and today was the day to buy. My battery had been slowly declining in health and during the 4 hours in the mall, I lost about 60%. So, I went to the check-in person, another very nice young woman with bright hair (I loved her style!). I asked for an appointment, and she set me up for 3 pm. It's about 1 now, we say that we just got to the mall so can easily kill a couple hours. She says that's great but if I'd rather, I can easily just go online, buy my phone, schedule a pickup, and come back once I get the notification that it's been pulled (I didn't have to wait for the pickup time, just get the notification and head to the table). Sounds easy enough. I wander to a coffee shop, grab a drink, go to the website, apply for the Apple Card to do a payment plan (I have a non-major carrier, don't even get me started on the whole "paying more for us to skip the SIM card" thing), get approved, and TRY to finalize my checkout. By the time I give up on the website, it's been about an hour. I shrug it off and decide to just wait for my appointment. The website, or potentially my phone, issues were not something I blame the store for. I go back to the store, ready with my credit approved, phone decided on, and the $50 gift card I had for redeeming reward points. Check in for my appointment and go to stand by the phones and wait. A nice young woman comes up and she asks if I know what I'm looking for. She takes my order, asks all the pertinent questions, and says someone's pulling it while we finish up the money bits. Am I doing a trade in? Yes, I just need to get my phone set up first and go buy a case elsewhere since they didn't have the Otterbox defender available for my phone. I need a trade in kit sent to me. "You can actually just bring it in." Even if I'm not trading it in today? "Correct you have 14 days." Perfect, I'll be back in a day or two. Am I doing the pay in full or monthly option? I tell her I've already applied and been approved for monthly, so I think I'm good to go on that front. Ready to use my fancy new Apple Card, she says, you actually have to do that option online. I tell her I tried as the other woman suggested. But I couldn't get it to work. Can I try? she asks. I get out my phone and we go back to my cart and get the order in. At the same point in the check out. She also gets stuck. We try it on Wi-Fi and still nothing. So, we use one of their phones to make the purchase. Let me just interject how uncomfortable it made me to put in my account information on a very public phone. I understand that they sign out and erase that data; but it would have been made me feel better to get some comfort from her on that front. Or at the very least be ASKED if I was comfortable with that before being handed a very public phone that was already waiting for my login information. By this time, the new phone in its shiny new box was in her hand. I also could not do a trade in, in store as I was making my purchase online now... ok... And I couldn't use the gift card I had redeemed specifically for the new phone as Apple's website says you can use gift cards for devices... but not as part of a payment plan. I'm sure that's on the fine print somewhere. Apple does love their fine print (and I love reading their fine print but somehow, I still missed that one). But since you can't actually spend only $50 at Apple, I'll likely end up spending quite a bit more than that. Or none at all. My purchase on the public phone was completed. As part of the checkout process, I had to choose a pickup window. The earliest available was 445 PM. This whole conversation took about 15 minutes, so it was approximately 315. Reminder, I had already waited almost 2 hours since the original attempt to use the website did not work. I have to wait until this new appointment over an hour from now? I ask while skeptically eyeing the shiny new box. Yes, we'll see you then! She says brightly and smiles at me. EIGHT MINUTES LATER I got a notification that my phone was ready. On the one hand, I was absolutely delighted that it hadn't taken that long. On the other, I was absolutely annoyed that she didn't just say it would only be a few minutes. By this point, I was feeling like I had been jerked around. I made a careful plan when trying to spend almost $800 (after trade in) as that is A LOT of money to me. 2 stars as the experience was very tedious and frustrating but the people were nice. They can't be blamed for bad policies. Plus, I actually walked out with the product I wanted which was more than some of these other reviewers could say. Even so, I do not recommend. read more

I had a servicing appointment at Apple for my MacBook Air that had a battery service message. I was seated at my scheduled appointment time but it took 10 minutes before I was helped. My computer had been notifying me that my battery needs servicing but after a diagnostic test, the employee said my battery was in the green ... but he still recommended buying a new battery. I wish the employee who helped me at the Genius Bar had explained why the diagnostic test said my battery was fine but he still recommended I buy a new one. He provided vague answers to my follow up questions. He did go out of his way to expedite my battery repair which I appreciate! Overall, not super impressed with the service. read more

Yes, FIVE stars and very very well earned. And still the best Genius staff in the entire Twin Cities. Why? Because Management in THIS store lead their team with the original philosophies of Steve Jobs : customer service needs to be genuine, patient, gracious and diligent in meeting EACH customer's needs no matter how small. One week before my september 2016 Iphone 7 Plus full warrantee ended, and after hard efforts 4 weeks before to fix it did not completely work, this team approved replacing my phone completely.... i was shocked... tears came to my eyes, my voice actually cracked as i reacted with full blown surprise at this MOST welcome mngt decision. I had purchased Apple care WAY back before T Mobile had an official business relationship with Apple. I wanted Apple Care for i Know it is the BEST insurance available for ANY consumer product made today. I used this coverage quite often the last two years and management in this store honored it. Wow. And today, i came in just to get quick minor help in setting up a two tier security system recommended by tech support on the 800 phone line. Something so simple, yet a wonderful friendly sincere associate who treated me with the same serious attention and respect as a more difficult task. My mom and I spent time here yesterday getting a new phone for her. Several other apple stores didn't have inventory and this one did. Benjamin helped us and he was great. He really wanted to make sure she knew about new features that weren't available on her phone and that she knew how to use her new phone. He was friendly and informative. I've been going to the Apple Store for quite a few years. Whats changed and will result in the reduction of one star, painful as it is for me to do that, is that at least this store is no longer a one stop shop. The service was great, the techs diagnosed my older Mac quickly and we compared options as I purchased a new Mac. Problem: Well now there's no cable for my existing monitor, "you'll have to find one on Amazon", is what I was told. No, so let's go with a new monitor. Not too long ago there was a decent selection of monitors now it's two types starting at $1100. I was told. No, we'll head to Best Buy across the street. I have a great new Mac and a beautiful monitor from Best Buy that was on sale. At least it only takes two minutes to drive to Best Buy from Rosedale! read more

I tried calling ahead to make sure they had a part before I drove all the way to Rosedale for service. The first person transferred me to another person and I had to start from the beginning. The second person said since he couldn't guarantee he'd still have it when I came in, he wouldn't look it up. I kept insisting and the third person, who I needed to re-explain the whole story again, also refused to look it up. He merely said its likely they have it but couldn't guarantee it. I kept insisting but he would not look it up. I got nowhere and hung up. The reason I called in the first place was because the Oakdale Best Buy (they are also apple service places) store said they'd have to order the camera to fix it and they would need to keep my phone until it came in. Seriously??? They said it was apple policy. And they told me to call ahead to make sure the store had the part. So then I was on the apple web site and found there wasn't a way to complain online. Totally discriminated against my husband saying he couldn't wear a bandana. They totally destroyed the store. It used to be nice & you could try the new products. Now they have this crazy security guard surrounding it. They don't have any products for you to try. You can't make an appointment when you get there. They tell you to call which would just piss you off being on hold & the people will try & fix your device over the phone & won't give you an appointment without going through their crap. I have used a store many times. I fully understand that they are so busy that it is difficult to walk in and accomplish a complex task. Consequently, I simply call ahead, make an appointment, and when I arrive there is normally a short wait but then I end up seeing a well qualified person to meet my needs. I needed a battery replaced, and just making an appointment to do so was like, stupid hard. I arrived 18 minutes before my appointment, and had to twiddle my thumbs as I was too early. Finally got in, and the salesperson was good, but the phone was not ready in the time promised. I got handed off to a manager (I think?) who was like, just wait over there, I'll come and find you - no more than 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I went back to the line (which is a freaking production of questions, temperature checks, being sorted into lines, answering more questions, being handed off to different staff...) and could not find this person. Finally saw him in the back of the store got his attention, and he had clearly forgotten all about me. Too much money later, my phone is better, but what a PITA. I am all for COVID precautions, and perhaps Apple has so much coin they just don't care, but the situation is over the top. I'll not come back here. read more

Worst Apple Store. I had a Genius Bar appointment, showed up right on time, got checked in. 30 minutes later, I was still waiting for service, while meanwhile people who had checked in long after me were already being served. After I asked an associate what was going on, it took another 10 minutes for a manager to come and apologize, and indicate I had "slipped through the cracks." 20 associates milling around and nobody bothers to check why someone is sitting there forever and being passed over? Total lack of concern. Finally, I got a tech to look at the hardware issue, and was told within two minutes they couldn't fix it, but I could buy a new one? I specifically came in because their online support told me it could be fixed at the store. In total, this fiasco took 55 minutes -WITH an appointment- including 2 actual minutes of support. The only silver lining is the tech who helped me was savvy and took time to outline why their policy is not to fix the that particular issue. But when local fixit shop A2Z says they can easily fix this issue, it does nothing to change the 1-star review. read more

Bing Bang Boom I was outta there in ten minutes. Check this out: The power button on my iPhone 4s wasn't working and my phone was still within the 1yr. warranty. I made an appt. online at the Apple store-this is a MUST people. I was helped by the nicest guy, Nick. Within ten minutes he had backed up my phone, got me a brand new phone and put all the stuff back on it. (That's all technical talk for; "He fixed everything.") Nick even answered my totally beginner question( without laughing) of, "Just how DO you get those little plastic phone protectors on perfectly?" (As soon as I got home I followed his instructions and voila! perfection.) Now don't get me started on the Verizon guy upstairs at the mall who when activating my phone RIPPED OFF MY PLASTIC SHIELD ON MY NEW PHONE! What the HELL? Dude, I just got this brand new phone and you don't need to rip that off to use it. That's my OCD special thing to do! Cripes! Despite my past experiences I decided to go back to apple after discovering some phone issue that my service provider could not fix. I actually had a great experience, Derrick (I believe that was his name) was SUPER informative and helpful, he took the time to explain the new phone features and how to properly back up my phone onto my computer and vice Vera. I am horrible with technology and usually leave the store with confusion and anxiety not knowing what to do, so this was quite the opposite experience. Huge shout out thanks guys! read more

Terrible customer service and they refused to even look at or open up my iPhone that failed for no reason with no damage a few months out of its warranty. -failed Face ID, random shut downs for no reason on a one-year-old iPhone 12. They were extremely rude to me and contradicted themselves many times when they try to explain themselves and get out of repairing under good will or let alone even looking at the phone. -i've had many experience with with Apple and when the products have major issues that are not caused by the user right within a few months of the warranty expiring, they will do the repair out of Goodwill or at least LOOK AT the phone. read more

I went in to inquire about my airpod pros being recalled. I did the proper research, I qualified, made an appointment and showed up on time. I was dismissed (I believe because I look younger) and was asked "Is this an issue that "we" reached out to you about or did you just read this online?" Completely dismissing me and my issue. I was turned away on the basis of not making the proper appointment and the woman I spoke to did not think my product was truly recalled despite it being in an issued statement from apple. I drove all the way out to the store to be turned away 2 mins after arriving and not helped. I went to apple support online and my recall was honored and am now being shipped new ones free of charge and it took less than 20 mins to get sorted out. Will not be returning to this store. read more

The Apple store is a play land for adults. And despite its busy appearance, their efficiency at getting you what you need is amazing. I go here often and always enjoy the experience. This last time I went for two items and was able to quickly get some advice, find the items, and check out via one of the many service reps walking the floor. In and out quickly with exactly what I needed. Thanks for another great experience, Apple. A piece of advice. Due to the popularity of the FREE tech support at their Genius bar, do yourself a favor and make an appointment. Walk-ins can wait two hours or so. I mean really, it's free tech support so do you really expect them to not be busy? :-) read more

The worst customer service I h e ever experienced. I had to go in three times. All were Horrible. The first they told me they couldn't sell me a phone after I ordered and it was the wrong one. The second trip was to go get it (3 days later because that was when I could buy a phone again), except they turned my old phone card off. Then kicked me out because I was trying to get a password (which I was having to do and takes a minute or more); due to covid rules they told me. I said no. My phone has been deactivated and Im not waiting through this line again. They called security because I wouldn't leave the store while someone was working with me! Security even called the cops because my phone was not able to access the internet, make phone calls, call my cell phone provider, look up directions to a different Apple, call Apple...nothing!!!!! I was pissed because I couldn't get help to fix it. Went in 24 hrs later because that is how long I was kicked out. WaiTed for 45 minutes got to the front answered one question and they kicked me out again. Didn't get my phone fixed! didn't get my new phone(refused to sell me my new phone (because I couldn't buy it online, because I had done it within the 3 days and then wouldn't give me any chance after that.) finally get to an internet connection and get ahold of a very respectable human being. I ended up getting $325 for a new iPad. When I say I was going to get a Mac book this year, not happening. I won't ever go into an Apple store again! read more

I started out with an Apple 16K back in the late 70's and actually equipped an office with early Apple products. That was a fun time when Visi-Calc ruled. I met today with Tong, a wonderful young Hmong woman who was just super duper. Can't say enough good things about her. She helped with my computer and my iPhone. I have been looking to buy an Apple Watch and have been to the store twice and have not been able to buy a watch. The first time, I did not have an appointment. I then made an appointment and picked the option for watch for the next day. I showed up and was informed that there was no one that could sell a watch in the store. They knew what my appointment was for, why would you let me drive all the way out there knowing you could not sell me a watch? I called Apple later asking if they could waive the same-day shipping charge due to the horrible experience and they could not. A horrible store that does not care about customers. If you actually want to buy an Apple product, go to Best Buy or maybe online because the Apple store apparently does not sell their own products. read more

I only walk in when I know for a fact that I'm going to walk out having bought something. Everything goes smoothly setting up an appointment to get the item I want that they told me is in stock. In my head I thought it wouldn't take that long, just get the item, pay and then go. Instead they kept telling me about all the features of the thing I want to even though I was dead set on buying it already. How long does it have to take for an associate to check you out? Apparently an hour cause that's the combined wait time for my appointment and wait in store just to be told my item wasn't in stock at all. Customer service at this location is seriously lacking. The staff was unhelpful and my device issues were not taken care of at all. After visiting the Ridgedale location everything was taken care of quickly and everyone was thorough, helpful, and friendly. They also agreed that the Rosedale location (and in particular the technician who was either unqualified or unwilling to help with my repair needs) had handled the situation inappropriately. That doesn't give me confidence enough to ever return to the Rosedale location. Unfortuntely, if you need to visit an Apple store, there are limited choices, but I strongly suggest avoiding the Rosedale location if you can. read more

Very disappointed, got there and was told it was appointment only but they couldn't make one for me. I was told I needed to use my phone to make one but I explained it was broken and that is why I was there. She said I would have to go home and use my computer. Then she said it would probably be at least 2 weeks. When i asked her if I should just go to CPR and get it fixed she didn't seem to even care and said well that's up to you. So I took it to CPR and in less than 2 hours it was fixed. Apple can kiss my apple, never going there again. read more

Went to the Rosedale store today to get my watch checked out. My watch screen popped off yesterday at work so I made an appointment for today. The guy helping me was extremely rude, kept telling me that series 2 screens shouldn't be popping- even thought Apple had replaced my original watch about a year ago for the same issue. After two years my watch was out of warranty and all I could do is pay 230 to get the screen glued back on or upgrade. Why on earth would I pay to get the same watch that has had the same issue twice? . Secondly why would I buy a new watch if the one I have is in perfect condition and needs the screen glued but Apple doesn't want to do it? I have lost trust in Apple. To think I was going in to get I AirPods today and get my phone fixed. Never buying Apple anything again. I loved Steve Jobs and his products but there are plenty of other companies making just as good or better products. Once phone, I Mac and laptop dies I am not replacing them with a fruit again. read more

It's true. I drink the cool-aid too. I spent 15 years building and maintaining my own Windows machines and a couple years ago I decided I just don't want to spend my days and nights fighting with my technology anymore. I made a 100% switch and I could not be happier. But here at Yelp are we reviewing the place or the machines? The people that work here do not make the rules nor do they build what they sell. The only thing we can truly review them on is their service. Your MacBook broke, bummer dude. So you took it back here, tell me what they DID for you to make it better. Maybe it was a crummy hard drive, tell me if they made you happy walking out the door three hours later. I purchased a One-to-One membership which is a one year supply of unlimited training, tech support and general help for you and your new device. I have used it to solve many larger issues I was struggling with and I could not be happier with the service I have received at this store. While not all the Geniuses are geniuses, they are kind, supportive and will do whatever it takes to make sure you leave happy at the end of your appointment time. Last bit of advice, go online and book an appointment for EVERYTHING you do at an Apple store. There is often a ton of people milling about playing with things so it's nice to walk in at your appointed time and have one person dedicated to you and your stuff. It's called personal service and it is awesome. Use it to do more good. read more
