Very long trip took most of the day. The manager was very helpful in getting everything I needed to get set up. I would come to this McCoy's again.

The person assisting me answers some of my questions, however, they didn't have the answers for some of the most important ones and needed the box to provide that information. While the box was being located, I continued to shop. I didn't receive an update within a few minutes and saw how the workers were talking amongst themselves and looking a little goofy, I asked, "Did you find the box?!" They had not found it so I asked about the store hours and told them I'd be back tomorrow (which it today) to pick up my items. Well, I am here in the store now. I don't see any familiar faces and a sweet lady named Julia asked me is I needed assistance. I told her what I wanted and watched in the background as a conversation began between two employees who obviously knew what was going on with my particular situation. We bought long leaf pine flooring that had been recovered from a house built in the 1850's. It was not tongue in groove, not the same thickness and had different colors of paint depending upon the area of the house it had been removed from. One of the coolest projects I have ever done. Sanding and joining the wood together. The wood had personality, unlike the boxed wood from Home Depot. After sanding and finishing, the floor was beautiful. We sold the house several years later and the wife loved the floor. It clinched the deal. Try getting that out of a Home Depot box.

Don't turn into Hat Creek/Murdoch to get here. Keep going on down the feeder. Once you're inside, it's one of the newly redesigned stores. It looks fresh, and inventory isn't all picked over. More aisles, and each aisle is shorter and logically arranged. Things are actually neatly organized, and lighting is inviting. The checkouts are all in a queue at the front, so there isn't the jockeying customary at other locations for the shortest line. And the staff are actually friendly! I was actually taking the opportunity to return a tube of caulk I had bought in Austin, and was treated just fine even though I didn't buy anything. I was short on time and didn't browse, which was my only regret. It looks like it could be fun shopping in this Harbor Freight store.
