Gahhhhhhh I cannot even put to words how much I FLIPPIN love Apple Farm!!! It's not easy to find a lot of asian brand foods and this is the best place if you are used to shopping from authentic stores. I've been binge buying the noodles, soups and so many other things! The beer/malt beverage selection is fantastic and I love that the hot food items are half off after 6!! DONT be stealing my fave items fellow yelpers lol Some products are 'overpriced' in the way that I believe they might upsell just be they aren't normally easily found in other brand food stores. But the Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other items are so affordable. Oh and the fish market is like something out of an ocean town! So fresh and not the usual fare aka better options!! A nice combination between a fresh market and an ethnic grocery -- we are so happy to have Apple Farm come to Peekskill! I have been shopping occasionally at their White Plains location over the years when I was down there, and then I became a frequent customer in their Croton-on- Hudson location -- but this Welcher Ave (Peekskill/Buchannan) location is bigger and better by far. I really enjoy the fresh produce -- at discount prices! The new Peekskill location even has a butcher and meat counter along with their usual produce, seafood and deli departments surrounding a smaller but still good grocery department. They always keep the lines very short and quickly moving, and the staff were very kind and friendly. As a resident of the area, my wallet and I are especially glad AppleFarm is here! Especially after A&P closing, then KeyFoods sucking and failing. WELCOME!!!! read more

I recently went to Apple Farm looking for fresh produce close to home. I walked into a large, spacious, clean store. I slowly browsed through the produce aisles. Excellent variety of fruits and vegetables, everything looked fresh and plentiful. The disappointment comes from Apple Farm not selling any organic fruits and vegetables. If you're looking for a place with fresh produce, great prices and good variety, Apple FArm is the place. However, if you're looking for organic produce, you're out of luck. read more

This store is starting to go down hill. I buy a lot of produce there. Although you can get some very good buys and some fresh stuff you have to evaluate each item individually. It has gotten to the point where I won't buy any store packed items. The last I bought were lychees which when I got them home, I found they were all rotten with the good side visible in the package. I did not return them. Today we bought cut watermelon and it tasted soapy. Time to stop shopping there. It is a spacious store with a good variety of Asian products and it was first rate when they opened. It is very disappointing. read more

I now shop there regularly, with saving on produce. I can get a head of iceberg lettuce for 1.29 as opposed to shoprite at 1.99. I pick and choose for price is my factor. Can get 2 hard rolls for one dollar where at shoprite I was paying 99 cents for one. Also, eggs at 1.29 for a dozen. I wish their deli had better sales on swiss cheese for I go to ctown for their deli. read more

Were it not for the unfriendly, nearly hostile employees, I'd give this store a higher rating. The hostility is not a one-off; I've shopped at Apple Farm six times during the last few weeks and five times out of six, the cashiers were rude. On my first visit, I complimented the friendly manager on the store's cleanliness and ample food selections; after that, things went downhill. Examples: A couple of visits ago, since I don't like to buy or use paper bags, I brought one good-sized plastic bag with me, and my credit card (no purse). The cashier finalized the order and I paid for it with the credit card before I had finished putting groceries in the plastic bag when I realized there wasn't enough room for everything. I did not have a nickle on me and the cashier was not willing to just give me a paper bag. I had to make a trip to the car, empty some of the items and head back in to retrieve the rest of the items. Ridiculous. Today, I stood in the one check-out line; the folks in front of me, with a large order, headed to the open lane; all good. Then I noticed that two lanes over, the shopper was about finished; she was bagging her groceries and it looked as if she were about to pay. No one was behind her, so I headed over to that lane. Or tried to, only to be yelled at by the cashier in the first lane who loudly proclaimed that the line was behind me (yep, I know that, I was in that line) and gestered for me to go back. That made no sense whatsoever. But I started to, when a man who was clearly confused about the line situation, cut in front of me, heading to another empty check-out lane. He had just a few items, I didn't mind, and said so but the same cashier who had yelled at me a minute or two before yelled at him. So awful. On every visit, the cashiers fail to smile (and yes, they wear masks but it's still possible to discern a smile); they don't help put the groceries in the shopper's bag(s) but maybe this is a New York thing (I just moved here from Arizona). Overall, they act pained, as if they hate their jobs. They do say "thank you" at the close of the transaction, but without one scintilla of sincerity. I do want to mention, though, that a young man stocking the shelves was very friendly and helpful when I asked about a particular type of red sauce. In short: the problem is the cashiers. BTW, there aren't any cart carrels in the parking lot. From what I can tell, most shoppers are nice enough to push the carts back to the front/outside of the store rather than just leave the carts in the lot. We all need exercise so this isn't a bad thing, no, during summer weather but come winter it could be a pain. read more

We spent about $20 there last weekend on fruit and veggies and almost everything ended up in the trash. The pineapple plums peppers tomatoes and some pears were inedible and rotted within a day of purchase. We will not be back. read more
