So you may start seeing them around town. I called them from work a few days ago and they arrived pretty quickly. I had a little chat to the driver and found that the company is co-operatively owned and run by ex crown drivers and employees, it seems like a really good idea and gives them a chance to own a bit of a business. They claim to be a 24 hour service, which I can't verify for sure. They also have the slightly bigger cars for when there's 5 or 6 of you and it seems silly to get 2 smaller taxis. I spoke to the driver concerned and we exchanged e-mails confirming the date, time and cost. It was a 4.30 a.m. pick up to catch a flight at 5.35 a.m. Richard at Ansom Cabs failed to arrive. I tried to telephone him and left a message asking him to 'phone me back. At 4.50 a.m. my husband decided that we would have to drive to the airport and we caught our flight by the skin of our teeth. They were just closing the gate! We had no petrol in our car and had the worry of how we would get home all through our holiday. Not the most relaxing way to start a long awaited vacation. My advice is do not rely on him. We have not heard a word from him and we have been home 2 days. Utterly useless!

Unfortunately it's not 24-hour, but they go from around 6am to around 10pm (you may wish to check that!) every 20 minutes or so, ferrying passengers on a loop from Clifton via the coach station and Temple Meads, then up through Bedminster to the airport. A taxi will costs you around £22 (so £44 for a return journey) to Temple Meads, while a return on here is just £9 (singles are £6). They're also almost as quick (20 min journey or so), due to the fact that the traffic is so dense for the majority of the journey that a taxi's extra speed is negated (I was running late for a flight once and shelled out for a taxi, only for the bus I'd spurned to pull up behind us as we arrived!). If you're on the route and travelling at a reasonable time, the Flyer beats a taxi hands down for price.

Especially with Cardiff Council's new responsibility to parking fines. Parking in Cardiff can be very costly if you do not adhere to road markings etc and even if you do, the car parks can charge quite a pretty penny depending when and where you are parking. For this reason, why not simply park here and ride the bus. It's only £3.00 to park at this facility which has ample spaces free throughout the day and then you can ride the bus into town for free. It doesn't really take that much longer and there is a bus every 15 minutes so you never have to wait too long before the next bus. The busses are all very new looking and this service is in operation 5 days a week. Monday to Friday the services start at 7:30am and the last services from the city centre is at 7:00pm except for match days when this changes to 5:30pm.
