A very unhelpful technician (1-star) came and went in less than 10 minutes, telling me he couldn't smell the odor so I'd "need a second opinion". I called back to SMO for further assistance. Tyrisha Monroe assisted me (5-stars!). Each time I called in, I spoke with Tyrisha. She was extremely courteous, understanding, and helpful. She immediately scheduled a more experienced technician to my case. Within a few hours, Reggie was at my door (5-stars++!). Reginald Morton has serviced our furnace in the past. He is extremely professional, wise in his trade, and a genuinely nice man whom I gladly welcome into my home. Reggie worked hard, trouble shot the issue, explained everything to me, then made sure the entire space was nice and clean before he left. I have always been impressed with Reggie's quality of work and kind demeanor. After today's experience, I requested that he be tagged as my preferred technician (I'm not sure if that's a thing, but I certainly hope it is!) --as long as all you Yelp readers don't start requesting him to the point that he is not available when I need him. ;D Well done SMO, you have two extremely professional employees who care about their work. Beware: Overpriced, Misleading, and Unhelpful…read more I called A&F Plumbing for a $59 service visit to find out why my water heater was not heating -- seemed reasonable. The tech was polite. That's where the positives ended. He relit the pilot light and THEN told me it was $250 just to relight the pilot light -- something most plumbers include in the basic fee. After paying that ridiculous charge, my water still never got hot. He didn't check, wait to see - - just said he relit it. He did make sure he had a sales pitch though. Without fully diagnosing the problem, he jumped straight to recommending a $875 burner assembly or a $5,250 replacement water heater, (complete with estimates) claiming mine was 11 years old, but my house is only 9 years old. Either the math was off, or they were hoping I wouldn't question it. I paid $250 for nothing -- no fix, no follow-up, just out the window, whoever recommended them should be ashamed of themselves. Definitely a bait-and-switch. If you're looking for real solutions and honest pricing, I strongly suggest calling someone else.

Before every appointment, they send a text with the tech's name, photo, and even a little bio including their hobbies. It's like getting a match on a dating app, only this time the person actually shows up and fixes the problem instead of ghosting you. The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. And while Yelp loves photos, trust me -- nobody wants to see what was blocking my drain. That's a whole different genre. Bottom line: Boothe's brings personality and professionalism to plumbing.
