Decent prices but the proprietor was not wearing a covid mask and was not enforcing mask use with customers.

My…read morehusband was looking to purchase a trap gun after about 30 minutes Dave helped us find the perfect shotgun that both of us were comfortable shooting. Next we were looking for a pistol for me. I explained to Dave that I tried shooting a Remington 380 and it was too difficult for me I don't have the strength in my hand to squeeze the trigger. He showed my husband and I, a Smith & Wesson 380 and truly educated me and taught me how to properly handle my new pistol. So my husband purchased me my new Smith & Wesson. Btw I was thrilled and so happy. This review is truly about Dave, what an amazing salesman who spent the time needed with me to want this gun. Because I felt comfortable and learned gun handling and safety I want to say "thank you" to Big Buck for hiring a truly awesome employee who cares and listens to the buyer. You're lucky to have Dave on your staff.

The store is a little high. But the good thing is they have everything you need or want. And the store stands behind everything that they sell. The only bad thing is I wish I still lived in Wexford Pa. I love Pa but had to move south when my Wife and I retired because of health issues. But at 73 years old I still go back home every year to go Deer hunting. Pa has the best hunting out of every state. I believe Big Buck opened before 1980 because my Wife bought me a Colt Defender 380 for an anniversary present. And I think every time you bought anything in Big Buck you got points that you could use to buy something in the store. I highly recommend Big Buck . A Vietnam Veteran.

Also, the footwear section made me want to kick myself. These underpaid employees don't keep the shoeboxes recovered properly, meaning that a pair of size 14 Brookes may be under the size 7 youth Adidas shelf -- not to mention that the selection is small anyway. I salute Mr. Dick's brand, but Butler can't do anything right. I'm taking my business to Radio Shack and Sears back at home sweet Intercourse.

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to find one here but they were kind enough to take me around and show me what they had that might fit the bill. Ultimately I wasn't able to find what I was looking for, but that wasn't the fault of the great staff that served me. The store was clean and easy to find my way through, and I did end up impulse buying a $99 firepit that they had on the floor. Turns out it was the last one they had, and I felt quite fortunate enough to grab this great deal. It came with a lid, a grill for cooking on, and a fire poker, making it a great deal. It was also pleasingly attractive, and the group that I first used it around was quite pleased with it. It seems quite sturdy, and is bound to serve us for quite a number of years to come.

WAY different vibe than different similar branded stores, in a good way! Everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable, and even though they didn't have what I was looking for this trip I will totally be back next time I have something in mind. They had popular brands like Yeti, Vuori, North Face, etc. and when I visited they had clothing items 25% off so I would call before going to ask if a specific item you are looking for may be on sale!

The layout definitely reminded me of a Dick's Sporting Goods store. Everything was pretty pricey, as expected from name-brand outdoor gear, such as The North Face, Columbia, and Patagonia. I learned that you can actually rent all sorts of gear, including tents, sleeping bags, snowboards, bikes and kayaks. They also offer classes/events, mostly focused on rock climbing for now. I do feel that their climbing rates were a bit high for the limited space that they have. Their climbing wall has only 5 vertical routes with a very small bouldering area, and they charge ~$20 for one hour. As an avid indoor rock climber, I would recommend visiting one of Pittsburgh's climbing gyms instead. Their day passes cost ~$20 as well, and you can climb for as long as you like. I see the benefit of having the wall for trying on climbing shoes if you're looking to buy, but not so much for recreational purposes.
