Laura does a gorgeous Russian manicure. Zero pain or irritation of and kind, she's very gentle and also amazing to talk to. I went to her because I heard great things and I got an infection from my last nail salon unfortunately. It's so cool I have such a clean, beautifully decorated friendly spa in this tiny little town! I was so nervous about trying a new salon, but Laura was so friendly and attentive, making me feel completely at ease throughout the whole appointment. She is very professional and the salon is very clean. I loved the way she explained everything she was doing to my hair and used luxury hair products. My hair looks, feels, and smells amazing. I was in and out of the salon in 45 mins, (thick Type 4A curls). The most exciting part of all is: not once did she burn me or push my head. I was able to attend their VIP Spa Gala a couple weeks ago on June 14th and so glad I did! I have never really been that girl who knew about how to take care of her skin and coming to this event not only provided me with valuable information, I also was able to purchase items that I may have needed to go to a dermatologist for. There were a few brands there including SkinMedica, Skinceuticals, Obagi, Glo Minerals, Eminence and iS Clinical (I think). They provided complimentary goodies such as ice cream, cupcakes, pastries, fruit smoothies, cookies, hats, goodie bags with a sponge and cosmetic bag, as well as a coupon for a future purchase and a mirror! The vendors also offered free gifts with purchase, a free gift if you spend a certain amount, extra discounts for 2+ items and raffles all night! I was lucky enough to win a set from Obagi! The Nu-Derm set! Waiting to get it in the mail :) They also had a panel where we could ask questions to the expert reps of each skincare line. The information was super helpful! I am so glad to know about this place and to know it is in Brooklyn! (4 stars because I haven't visited the actual location yet). I am looking forward to getting and trying new products! read more

What a joy to have discovered this jewel of a salon! As a former resident of ridgefield park and a frequent visitor, it is wonderful to find a space to truly get pampered by professionals right in the neighborhood. The space is beautiful and immaculately clean with all the proper pandemic precautions in place. The staff is well versed in their treatments and services, and the head massage and treatment I received during my wash and blowout with Dina left my hair glossy and my body restored, not to mention the bouncy blowout I left with. I moved to the area a few months ago and had been putting off getting a haircut because I was torn between going back to my old salon (which wouldn't be super convenient) and trying to find a new one. Just before I left for a trip, it dawned on me that I was in dire need of a haircut. I booked a same day women's haircut with Laura, having walked past the salon a day earlier and recognized the Apothecarie name/brand. The salon was clean and quiet and Laura was kind and professional. I was only in for a trim but she was so attentive and treated my hair with sincere care. My long time stylist moved away and I booked an appointment at Apothecarie. I live just a few blocks away and I pass by frequently. The space is beautifully done, well lit and welcoming. Laura is amazing! Her knowledge of all things hair is deep. She explained why my hair did not "take" certain colors and the new color we chose is the best I have had in years. I decided to go with a shorter cut that I usually do and it looks great. Laura gave me tips on how to maintain and style it. We chatted for 2 hours and it was like we have been friends for years. It was an overall great experience. I normally let too much time go between treatments. Not anymore! I look forward to seeing Laura every 5 weeks! Walked in to the Ridgefield Park salon with great fear because I had not cut my hair in over 20 years and wanted to donate it to charity. The staff greeted me with great enthusiasm from the minute I walked into the door. Dina explained her long history as a hair stylist. She assured me that my hair was in good hands. During my appointment she sat and reviewed my extreme hair cut and consoled me on what she would do. In the end, I was so satisfied with the gentle spa care my head and hair was given but reluctant to blow dry my hair. I went home and regretted it. So, I called back They said "Of course we will, come back and we"ll finish it for you." At the end, my hair was full of bounce and felt amazing. I love it and have been told by many I look way younger now. lol I went home with a goodie bag full of sample products. I can't wait to start using them. I called to make a same day appointment for a balayage consultation . I was so worried that after spending a year of taking such good care of my curls the balayage would ruin my hair but I put my trust in Dina and she did not disappoint !!! Came to a Yelp Elite event here last year (one of the best events I've been to so far). We all got individual skin consultations, recommendations and left with samples. After a facial gone wrong in 2011, I've been very afraid of skincare products and have stuck with Cetaphil since then. But I came back today after trying one of the samples to get it in full-size. Alison was extremely friendly and I left the store with a new batch of samples. This place is a little out of the way for me (1 hour+ on the subway) but so worth it and they're open on Sundays! UPDATE: So I wrote a bad review the other day based on an unfortunate misunderstanding and experience. I have since then spoken with the head of the company, who was very happy to resolve the situation with me. He explained in detail what went wrong and even comped me on a $90 product and gave me a 20% discount on what should have been a $300 order! I've used this company before many times when it was under another name for years. I love Obagi and I've always trusted this place from which to purchase this amazing product. I am waiting for my shipment, which, by the way, usually comes with lightning speed. They have a really great selection of hard to find lines (like Skyn Iceland) and I've always been very happy ordering from them online. The staff I spoke to on the phone was very nice and helpful too. My bit of advice: CHECK THE HOURS. Really, who closes at 2pm on a Friday? I incorrectly assumed that they were open until 7pm today like most other days (I'd called and asked a few days earlier and didn't think it would be any different today). Had I checked the hours before I could have saved myself two hours on the train out to the middle of nowhere. I got there at 2:10pm to find that I'd taken the trip for nothing so I'll probably stick to ordering from them online because the trip doesn't seem worth it to me, even if they do happen to be open. read more

Do not order anything online from this company. I ordered a product on 12/5/17 and it is 12/20/17 and still nothing has arrived. I've had to call several times to find out when it will be shipped and they have difficulty telling me where the package is. The tracking does not work. It says the shipping has not been updated. I likely will not get this by Christmas and if I had known, I would have ordered it elsewhere. I will never order anything again from this company and I would recommend no one else should. read more

Apothecarie is absolutely the very best store for all of my cosmetics needs! Not only do they carry the highest quality skincare products, but their prices are great, as well. Their website is very user friendly and so professionally done...the products are described very well, which is very helpful in making choices. Besides the great website, Sandy is very educated on product knowledge and I love being able to call and talk to her about any skincare problems I might be having and she will direct me to just the appropriate product. She is caring, compassionate, and so very helpful...it is a delight talking with her. When ordering, the products have always arrived as scheduled, if not before! Be very careful with this company! I order a product in early January and returned it right away. It is now Feb. 14th and I have still not received a refund. They allegedly had a change in their credit card system so were issuing me a refund check that has yet to come. They sent one out that I never received and was "lost in the mail". They then sent another one and ten days later I still have not received. It's entirely too suspect. read more

I ordered some products ten days ago, got a confirmation email, saw the charge pending in my account and nothing has even shipped yet. I've called several times and no one ever answers the phone.
