We rang Carline wanting a taxi to go to the airport, they were very offhand and brusque on the telephone and made it quite clear that they weren't really interested. Rang DSM Horley and received very good service. So next time we come down and leave our car at our friends' house then book a taxi to the airport, we'll be ringing DSM Horley first, not Carline!

With the discount and the shorter distance the price was still the same. I attempted to discuss how that could be with the driver but he would not budge, telling me the price was fair when it clearly wasn't. I only booked the return trip becuase of the return customer discount.

Disgusting service! Was at Sainsburys in West Green when an old man fell outside in the rain. We…read morehelped him up and Sainsburys brought out a wheelchair for him. He was very wet and said his taxi was 5 mins away. After 15 mins no taxi so we rang Metro who said they hadn't caught his name or address (no idea why didn't just send taxi anyway as the guy was clearly old!) So we booked for him and they said they'd be 15 mins. 20 mins later no taxi, rang again and they said driver was on another job (they knew he was old, had fallen over and was wet & cold so not sure why didnt prioritise? ).Finally after Sainsburys security rang them as well they turned up, an hour after should have been there! We got him into taxi and the driver basically asked us what he wants us to do with him, he's old doesn't want to take him. We explained we don't know him so can't go with him. He then just sped off in huff! We've told Sainsburys not to use Metro and advise that no one does! When we rang to complain to Metro the guy said he didn't understand and was confused (even though was the same guy we'd been talking to all night) and said let me put you through to someone and it just went through to answerphone! They will probably just delete the message. I hope the old guy got into his house OK but don't bet on it as the drivers attitude stank! AVOID

When you're flying out of London Heathrow, there might be occasions when you're happy to use public…read moretransport. If that's the case (and you happen to be heading there from Croydon, Sutton, New Malden, Kingston or Teddington) you're in luck, as there's an efficient express bus service. This single decker runs on an hourly (or thereabouts) basis and has limited stops - hence the improved journey time. For the price of a normal bus ticket (oyster cards are also accepted) you get a smoother, speedier and potentially more relaxing journey. It's an option that works well, so long as you've pre-informed yourself with the timetable (see website link); if you don't live too far from the bus stop and when you're not too laden with luggage. It terminates at Heathrow's central bus station where you'll find sign-posted links and access to all the terminals. I'm always happy to discover ways of cutting the stress, hassle and cost of getting to the airport!
