I got my wisdom teeth removed. they told me it was completely paid through my insurance and I signed the paper. 3 weeks later I get a bill for 600-800 bucks and they ask me if I got it written by a dentist or in a video that it's been covered. never paid they sent the bill to one of those company's that buy debt. haven't paid them won't and never going here again. get it in writing or get it recorded so they can't pull the same bs on you! read more

I had an appointment for a cleaning. After examining me, and my assessing my records, the doctor told me I would have a regular cleaning . She walked out of the room . After about 10 minutes, she came back and said " after discussing with the office and reviewing your X-rays I feel that you need a more extensive cleaning procedure for your back teeth ". We need to send your records out to the insurance company for approval. Of course, the cost would be higher. I said , we discussed this already ... you and I agreed to a regular cleaning . I went there for a second opinion about a fracture root canal, they very nice, told me I had to remove the tooth, made the appointment, after getting home and checking prices every single charge was higher then the max charge allow by the insurance. Had to get it taken care went to the appointment and they charge my CC more then the price they quote less then 48 hrs prior to the appointment, make all sort of excuses, they told me they would credit the price difference for the next appointment, we'll see. Medication was supposed to be send prior to the procedure for me to pick up at my way home, 2 hrs after the appointment the pharmacy still has not received. First and last time I will use this place the are a joke. Dr that did the procedure was nice however front desk very shady and very expensive their charge for the crown is $477.00 above the max allow by the insurance. Do not, I repeat, do not use this institution. Had to pay $100 to get a consult in which they quote 12.5k out of pocket. Went to a trusted dentist, and it was $1500. They throw out high quotes to see if you will pay. They change the amounts to suit themselves. My insurance says I pay $18 out of pocket. The dentist office demands $132. They throw in charges that don't make sense. Overall horrible institution to do business with. Others in my area have had the same experience and worse in some cases. read more

Have been going there since July of 2024. Plan was to remove 5 top teeth for a denture. One of the five teeth became infected and they took the money from the dental plan that my mom was paying on plus her deposit to remove one of the five teeth in the denture plan, leaving her with no money towards the top dentures and she now has to start over. This was not explained nor was it told to her that she would wipe out the cost already given to the dentist. So disappointed and I thought they actually cared about their patient. read more

Please be aware of this place. They overcharge & up sell. I sent my son there assuming they would abide by the appointment specifically for a routine cleaning. By the time they did his cleaning they charged him $350 & he had no clue but took his credit card to pay. No cavities, no filings, no root canal, just a cleaning & we have insurance!! They are corporate upsellers. They bill you for more than insurance maximums. Upsell for services other dentists question that insurance won't cover. They bill you one amount (big) then tell you less when you complain and point out insurance guidelines. Turnover in staff pretty high too. read more

I went there to see about getting my final dentures on the upper. I would have walked out had they been transparent on pricing and letting me know the costs of the first visit and X-rays. After all the X-rays were done someone come in to go over the pricing for my upper plate. The lady brought up the entire plan for getting teeth back in my head. Denture upper plate no implants. The bottom line on the screen showed $23,000.00. I asked what is that? The reply was oh that's nothing. Then she continued to tell me that for my upper plate was $5,000.00. I about fell out of my chair. I told them no way I won't be getting them there. Then she wanted to clean what teeth I have left in my mouth and charge me $500.00. no way. I looked up on my insurance and they billed them 1700.00 for my first visit. I have has other dental companies first visit to find out what needs to be done charge Nothing for all X-rays and scans. I found a dentist in Ruskin that I ended up getting my upper plate and a lower partial and scheduled a cleaning all for half what Modern Dentistry was going to charge for just the plate. I do NOT recommend Modern Dentistry due to Extreme Cost they charge. read more

I had my wisdom teeth pulled at Apollo Beach Modern Dentistry. Their removal went find. But on the 6th day, a Sunday, I ran out of antibiotic and pain pills. My right lower jaw was in major pain and the pain spread to my upper jaw and to my sinuses. I called their emergency line and was told some one would call me back within the hour. Never happened. Then I called again. Was told sorry will try again. No one ever returned my calls, the pain increased, my body temperature decreased to 96.5. I decided if the temperature went below 96.00 I would go to an emergency room. I made it until Monday (in pain, etc.) They still had not called me by Monday morning. I called them and demanded to be seen first thing Monday morning, they wanted to book me later in the week, Finally I got my jaw checked out more antibiotics and pain meds. They truly gave a F****. And, on my way out the door they tried to sell me teeth cleaning. Clueless group whose goals are to drain your pockets, and then once empty, throw you out the door. read more

This is a corporate dental office whose goal is to separate as much money from your pocket as possible. They upsell every time I'm in there and charge more for a procedure than what the insurance company and they have agreed to. When I pointed it out they said "oh well we'll take that off your bill". Cleanings are included and I've gone to the same dentist in Ohio for 35 years with no problem and the very first time I'm there for a cleaning they tell me I need something that's $650 above what the insurance will pay for a cleaning. Had my teeth cleaned by both hygienist Andrea and Emily Turcotte both very good!! They both hand scaled my teeth and did a great job, I could feel the difference. Originally went in to see Dr Pham, great educational background and very experienced Dentist. He took really good care and manage to take care of the issue I was having. Stay away from this dentist!! Though the actually dental staff is professional and friendly the front desk (payment people) are shady. After getting off the phone with my insurance company I found that they were going to overcharge me for some crowns by $4000. When was originally in the office they stated that the reason the bill was going to be so high was that I had more than likely maxed out my coverage for the year. Lo and behold my insurance company says I have no predetermined max amount. I have a copay and if they are in network (which they are they can only bill my for the copay). Excellent experience from start to finish. This was my first dental appointment since pre-pandemic so I was a little nervous. Upon arrival I was checked in quick since I did all my paperwork online and brought in for x-rays right away. I was so happy to see everyone wearing a mask. The x-ray machine was very modern and hi-tech and I thought this place is already living up to their name. Everyone was super friendly, they offered me drinks etc. Dr. Witelus saw me right away and did the typical check on my teeth and gums. I was expecting a dental hygienist to do the cleaning but since the office is so new there was no hygienist yet, and the doctor actually did my cleaning. My lucky day! He did an excellent job and was able to remove majority of my teeth stains and plaque build-up. Upon leaving I was given a cool water jug and dental goodies. I was asking about whitening treatments for sensitive teeth and was even given a sample of these at home tooth whitening trays to try at no cost. We went to Apollo Beach Modern Dentistry yesterday specifically for our 15 yr old son to have his 4 impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed. Our oldest son had a horrible time at another facility so we were dreading this. To our surprise this place is VERY efficient and friendly! There was ZERO wait time, they were ready for him when we arrived as opposed to the 3 hrs we waited with his brother at the other place. The office staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The medical staff was wonderful. Our son had never had anesthesia or IV before and was very nervous. He had one woman holding his hand for the IV and another even wiping his brow because he was sweating from nerves. The surgeon, Dr Okasha, was very experienced with no complications. A very quick efficient friendly facility all around and the cost was less than we had thought it would be, we HIGHLY recommend Apollo Beach Modern Dentisrty, you will be in good hands!!!! read more

This practice recently opened in Apollo Beach. This is a chop shop. During my first visit, I spent over two hours waiting for X-rays. They also changed my appointment without informing me. While they apologized for the inconvenience, my subsequent visits were no better. I had two teeth extracted during my last visit. While the periodontist was examining my teeth with her probe, I felt a sharp pain and grabbed her arm. She immediately chastised me as if I was a child - telling me not to touch her and that she was trying to help me. It was a reflex and No apologies for causing me pain! When my procedure was completed, the front desk receptionist informed me that they were going to call in some prescriptions at my pharmacy; he said to wait about 30 minutes before picking them up. Note I left the dentist office at 11:00 am. after having arrived at 8:00 am. My husband went to our pharmacy twice between noontime and 4 pm. We called Apollo Dentistry 10 times. Either no one answered or placed us on hold and never came back! I was experiencing a lot of pain due to a bad infection and the extractions. The meds were an antibiotic, pain reliever and mouth rinse. I finally went to my pharmacy at 6:00 pm; the pharmacist said that Apollo Dentistry never called it in. I then drove to their office to find out what happened. The receptionist claimed that it was in the system and indicated that it was the fault of the pharmacy. He then called the pharmacy. I stood and heard him call the prescriptions in; it appeared to me that no one had called it in prior to his call. When I voiced my dismay, he couldn't have cared less- a patient in pain - who cares. I told him that it was clear that they have bad customer service based on my collective experiences. He said it's the growing pains of an expanding practice. I responded that it would not continue to grow if they treated their patients the way they had treated me. He then sarcastically responded, "Over 90 percent of their customers love them." Pretty cocky for a new office who moves around appointments consistently, is unresponsive to calls, etc. Lastly, you should be aware of the fact that they will charge you for optional, non-required services if you don't ask. They charged my husband $1300 and tried to charge me $400 for optional services. This is a tactic to increase your bill and line their pockets! They also collect money (your copay) before you receive services. Everything about them raises red flags. I am a VP of HR and know a little something about healthcare providers.
