I was able to score a discount on 2 fancy tea party hats and a small discount on a gemstone necklace. My friends scored a really cool old kids book and a few other finds. The areas are laid out very nicely and easy to navigate and see what's on offer. Staff was attentive and helpful and available to open locked cases. We were impressed with the variety and affordability of many items. They have a clean customer bathroom which is always appreciated. The only antiques mall without a public restroom is in Fredericksburg and they say the old pipes in the building can't manage it. But that's another place all together. Anyway 5 stars for Armadillo Antiques!

If you are an artist, an antique collector, a decorator, or someone who has interests that aren't ever satisfied at run-of-the mill "junk" stores this is your place. The folks who run this place are very friendly and interested in helping you find what you need. They're kind of kooky, too. Just go. An afternoon out wandering through and wondering "what am I looking at" is an afternoon spent well enjoying what Ye-Ya's is all about. I love this place. I can't wait to go back.

Many of my favorite antiques have come from this charming little place in Helotes. Whenever I stop by B Daddy's BBQ next door, I walk over to Old Town Depot Antiques to see what's new. The selection is vast and includes everything from Victorian-era posh to 1950s small-town Americana. As a spiritualist, I'm particularly drawn to the variety of crystals and tarot card decks. As a WWII enthusiast, I am impressed by the variety of American and German guns, knives, and military paraphernalia. The prices are reasonable, and I've found many bargains, including a set of antique doorstops that...well...I really shouldn't talk about here. I know that last sentence sounds mysterious (because it is), but feel free to contact me If you're curious. I assure you it's an interesting story with an accompanying video. The woman who operates the store is friendly and quick to offer suggestions. Unlike many antique store owners (those presumably mindful of potential shoplifters), she will leave you be and let you enjoy your visit. She has given me several great deals over the last few years, so don't be afraid to negotiate. The one-star reviews on this page are laughable; the staff here are very friendly and accommodating to everyone I've ever seen, irrespective of race or ethnicity. If you sensed "bad vibes," then perhaps that's a reflection on *you*, not your ethnicity. Fans of the feline variety, take note: the shop's true owner is "Rascal," a cute little fellow who, if you're charmed like me, will greet you as you enter the premises. Rascal lived up to his name on a recent visit, as he mugged for my camera (see photos) and followed me around the store to offer insight into the various trinkets behind the counter. I found three skirts that I liked and they were priced from $5 to $12. Excellent! There were quite a few that were more expensive and there were lots of name brands to choose from. Gernin also had a good selection of vintage jewelry. You might miss Gernin if you aren't looking for it, as it is set perpendicular to the road. It is located only a few doors down from Fuddruckers and has some well-dressed mannequins in the windows. A tip: parking can be a little crazy in the small lot around lunch time, but any other time of the day should be perfect. Gernin is a fun little place to spend a few minutes shopping for cute, reasonably priced clothing. I will definitely go back there after a few months to see the new stuff what they have in.

Well right next door was a place called Elegant Elephant. I walked in an it was love at first sight. It was room after room of all kinds of little and big treasures. Think Storage Wars! I recommend you visit them when you have time to browse. The Owners are wonderful, friendly and that alone made me return, sans hubby who is not a browser. There is just so much to see. I found on my next visit a dreamcatcher that reminded me of the one that my father had over our door growing up and somehow was lost over the years. when I saw it I instantly wanted to have it.
