As someone with 12 years of experience in chiropractic clinics, I was shocked to be dismissed over "a $20 late fee" balance -- while recovering from two car accidents and overcoming homelessness. Dr. Erin told me I could pay later. But her front desk staff, Lorraine, harassed me repeatedly and even attempted to charge my card without permission -- a clear violation of trust. This clinic was set to be paid in full through my Progressive auto claim, yet they turned me away via text for $20 they could've written off. That's not healing -- that's hostility. My own chiropractor recommended Dr Erin for my kiddos when I asked him about pediatric treatment for my baby. I think we started treatment with my oldest when she was 9 months old. She's now 5. We went to help with her chronic ear infections, she's so far staved off getting tubes. My second has tubes so it's not going to be a help every child, but they definitely feel better afterwards. She's helped with constipation issues as well. This is not a cure, but it does help supplement changes we try to make as a family. Dr. Erin is so very kind and cares about her patients. Note, kids will cry; chiropractic adjustments are "scary" for adults; doctors in general are scary to kids. It took time for my daughters to adjust just like their pediatrician. I am happy to read that others have had a positive experience with APEX Wellness Center. My family had a rather negative experience for two reasons. 1. We found Dr. Erin to be rough. Two instances stand out. First, my 2.5 year old toddler was placed on his belly and Dr. Erin performed a maneuver where she applied pressure in a quick and firm manner on his back. This maneuver was never performed previously on my toddler. My son began to cry and stated that he did not like what was being done to him and this resulted in the session ending. Second, a maneuver performed by Dr. Erin on my wife resulted in a sharp, deep shooting pain in her left glute. When my wife commented that she was in pain, Dr. Erin brushed her off saying that it was normal and would go away in 1-2 days. Instead of responding to the patient's concern, Dr. Erin then left to attend other patients. My wife's pain persisted for a week at which point we sought the assistance of another professional. My wife still has lingering pain resulting from this adjustment. 2. In October 2022 we returned from a trip and my wife and son were both sick. We needed to reschedule an appointment pending my wife and son feeling better. The appointment was rescheduled for later in the week. In January 2023, we noticed a charge of $79.00 from APEX. We did not receive any notification or bill regarding this charge, it was simply charged to our credit card and I noticed it on my monthly statement. When we called APEX to ascertain the reason for this charge, the front desk explained that it was the result of a rescheduled appointment in October 2022. We believe this charge was applied because we terminated the relationship and stopped visiting so that office was attempting to extract value. I hope my experience serves as a cautionary notice to others. read more

STAY AWAY - This office has shady billing practices. They overcharged our co pay for 2+ months to the tune of $350+. When I pointed out the error, Dr. Erin claimed that they couldn't do anything about it because the insurance claims had already been filed. My husband worked for BCBS, that claim is absolute nonsense. After some back and forth, they honored the credit and then overcharge my subsequent appointments, charged my credit card on file and refused to go through my insurance company at the beginning of a new quarter. The adjustments are mediocre, but it's the billing practices you have to keep your eye on. I have notified my insurance company that this practice has a history of unethical billing and they should be removed from coverage. read more

Dr Erin has been caring for my back for 7+ years. My lower back issues were getting to the point that if I pulled or strained it, the pain prevented me from walking for several days, which is not ideal for an active mom. Before Dr Erin, I never let anybody touch my neck, but it needed care from past injuries and it is much improved. I'm thankful that Dr Erin provides a massage therapist, which makes my life easier. :) Under her care, I graduated from once a week adjustments to once a month maintenance. For the last few years, Dr Erin and massage therapy helped me work through a frozen shoulder and I've got about 95% movement back and almost no residual pain. Great experience from start to finish. Very easy to make an appointment, filled out all the new patient forms online, received very clear and helpful directions to the office. Once I arrived, I was given a tour of the office, and had the iPad sign-in process explained to me for my subsequent visits. Warning: The staff and even Dr. Calaway are not wearing masks. As a pregnant first time patient, I took time off work to schedule an appointment, and when I showed up, no one in the office was wearing a mask. When I asked Dr. Calaway if she would be wearing a mask for our appointment, she said "I'm not masking" and let me know I could leave it if I wanted. I feel this information should be given prior to people coming in, especially for a practice that offers care to pregnant patients. If I would have been told the staff does not "mask", I would not have come in and risked COVID exposure. read more

Dr Erin is a highly skilled practitioner that can do regular chiropractic as well as prenatal and can work on children. I tried it and felt great. I also did the massage there that relived lots of back stress. They focus the massage to relieve muscle tension that goes along with the chiropractic care. I have nothing but warm fuzzies for Dr. Erin at Apex Wellness Center. I started going to her last year for awful hip pain during the latter part of my pregnancy. It's amazing how much better I felt after just one visit. She still works wonders for me! Just last week I managed to do something funny to my back and in I went to find out my ribs needed adjusting in the worst way. I felt so much better immediately! Also, I love the fact the front desk staff is always nice. You never run into a grumpy receptionist here, which is a nice change from many medical type offices. I went for an appointment with Dr. Erin Callaway because I had lower back pain that was not going away or decreasing. I was a bit uneasy at first to get cracked or realigned but she took the time to explain what exactly she'd be doing, why it was hurting and what would fix it. Dr. Erin is someone I trust dearly when it comes to adjustments, and helping me feel 100%. I can tell by the dexterity and precision that she uses as she adjusts that she is confident in her skills and has experience to back it up which is important to me. I tend to feel "seized up" from either lack of movement, or when I'm getting back into shape. Seeing her I notice my body feel itself adapt into a more calm and relaxed state. I went to Dr. Erin for a couple years when I lived in North Dallas. She was the first chiropractor I ever went to, and I think she does well by her patients, especially considering how young she appears to be (late 20s? very early 30s?). She is very knowledgeable, and her and her staff are always nice. Lisa, her massage therapist, is really good. Her hours are pretty flexible and prices reasonable. One thing I didn't care for is that she always seemed a bit smug to me. And now that I've moved to a different part of the city and started going to a different chiropractor that I like much better, I now realize how much rougher her adjustments were than those done my new doctor. I also like how much more mature my new doctor is. So Apex is a fine place to go to if you're in the area and are looking for a new doctor. I, myself, have found something better and won't be back (even if I was living back up that way again). read more

I've left a message and sent an email and will have to wait longer to see if and when they'll be able to see me. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and not happy about this. I have now gone to APEX Wellness form more than 5 years and Dr Erin is great. I have some time gone in "emergency" mode when I can barely walk and within 1 or 2 appointments I am back functioning again. I pretty much fly every week and the impact on my back is terrible.
