Unit F14 Powder Coating - Powder coated apex wheel

    Unit F14 Powder Coating

I drove up from Austin to Plano specifically for Unit F14 after scheduling an appointment with…read moreDrew, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. From start to finish, this was exactly the kind of professional, high-quality service you hope for but rarely find. Drew was incredibly helpful in the color selection process. I wanted to refresh the look of my Apex VS-5RS wheels on my 2020 BMW M2 Competition (Hockenheim Silver), which were originally in brushed aluminum. After discussing options, we settled on Prismatic Champagne Gold - a gorgeous silver with just a hint of gold that complements the car perfectly. Drew's expertise really showed here; the color choice was spot-on. **What impressed me most:** - **Punctuality:** Drew met me right at 9am as scheduled - no waiting around - **Pricing:** Very fair and competitive rates - **Quality:** The powder coating work is absolutely flawless - **Personality:** Drew is genuinely friendly and clearly knows his craft inside and out - **Turn-key Service:** They offered a complete package deal with discounted wheel dismounting/mounting and professional balancing when the work was finished The finished product speaks for itself - the Prismatic Champagne Gold finish looks incredible against the Hockenheim Silver paint. The quality of the coating is top-notch with perfect coverage and a beautiful, consistent finish. If you're looking for powder coating services and willing to make the drive up to Plano, Unit F14 is absolutely worth it. Drew and his team deliver professional results with excellent customer service. I'll definitely be back for future projects, like a set of F90 BMW Calipers for my 640i GT that I've got my eye on.... *Highly recommended for anyone looking to refresh their wheels or other powder coating needs.*

Absolutely terrible experience!…read more After continuing to experience low air pressure on my front left tire, I had taken my vehicle to Discount Tire on March 17th and was told the rim was bent on the inside. Discount Tire removed my two front rims and installed my factory rims because I wanted the two front rims to match each other while that chrome rim were being repaired. On March 18th, 2026 my friend took my rim to LoneStar Wheel Repair and the repairs were completed, we paid $154.50 and picked up the rim up on March 20th. On March 20th 2026, Discount Tire removed the factory rims, replaced the chrome rims, put the repaired rims on the opposite side. On March 21st 2026 when I got in my car the air was back down to 19, so I called LoneStar Wheel Repair, but they close at noon on Saturdays. So, I went back to Discount Tire they checked the tires/rim and it was determined it wad still bent and needed to be repaired again. On Monday, March 23rd, 2026, I called LoneStar Wheel Repair and was told to bring it in. This time I drove over and when I got out of the car, the Owner, immediately guaranteed me that it was a different rim. Even before she liked at it. The, owner insisted they "mark" all repaired rims but refused to let me see these so called markings. Instead of even trying to understand what happened, she accused me of damaging another rim within less than 24 hours and blamed "the way I drive." Completely unprofessional! They refused to take responsibility and charged me another $154.50 to fix what was clearly the same rim. No accountability, no customer service, and very disrespectful treatment. I would not trust this business especially if you drive a nice vehicle and expect careful honest service. This experience made me feel dismissed, disrespected, and taken advantage of, please stay away

KT Performance Powder Coating - Media blasted machined bearing surface.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS…read more I trusted KT Performance to powder coat 2 motorcycle wheels, they totally destroyed both of them and refused to take any responsibility. This company abrasive blasted the machined area on the inside of the hub that the bearing race is seated in. The owner told me that it's not a problem and the surface can be simply cleaned up with sandpaper. According to another local powder coating shop there wasn't any reason to blast this area of the hub and the rim is no longer capable of safely containing the pressed in bearing. A local machine shop verified this and that the wheels were essentially ruined. It will cost $1,401.64 per wheel to purchase factory replacements or $400-$600 per for used wheels and then another $200-$300 to have these refinished at reputable powder coating shop. At minimum it will cost me $800.00 to replace the wheels. Another shop will complete the job for an additional $200-$300. This company has cost me $1000.00 !!!!!! When I requested the owner compensate me for the damages that he caused his answer was that he'd give my $200 back (the cost of the service) if I'd give him the wheels. He essentially admitted his wrongdoing by making this offer which was an attempt to buy the evidence so that he could not be sued. Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) applies to using this business.
