He came out right away to assess the dryer, and stated he had to order the part and be paid for both the part and the service call up front. $75 for each. After a week of not hearing from him, I called him, he said the part would be in shortly. Another few days I called him again, he said the part just came in and he'd be out to install it. He came out a couple days later replaced the part. We ran a load that same day and the same problem persisted. When I called him he said "it must be a different problem." He said he'd be out again to fix it, that I could just keep the part and he would send me a check for reimbursement. A week later I called him again to see when he was going to send me a check, he said he'd have to come back out to diagnose the problem and put the old part back in for reimbursement. I reminded him of what he said previously, he said he never said that. We had Sears come out who fixed the problem within 1.5 hours. It turns out he was charged with larceny ($30,000) in a real estate scam. Samsung stated in that article that they would do everything they could to assist customers who were taken advantage of by A-1 Appliance. 1 year later and Samsung has NOT done everything to help, in fact countless times telling the same story to a different person, and now today they say "I'm sorry, we can't help you." I will not buy another Samsung product.

My dryer stopped working and was 18 years old so was on fence about repairing or replacing. Dryer…read moreworked when I held the start button in so was hoping was a minor fix. I called Dadd's and told him age of the dryer and he strongly encouraged a repair. He said it could be as low as $130 for a minor repair or $200 at most. He said it was $90 for diagnostic and no charge for travel. He came out 2 days later and was 3 hours into his arrival window. After no more than 5 minutes he said I had a busted belt and I was happy thinking I'd be on the low end of his service charge. He didn't say anything further and took dryer apart to replace it. After a couple of belts he did find one that fit and installed it and then announced my bill was $200. I was a little surprised cuz the work he did couldn't have taken more than 15 minutes and he'd told me on the phone he billed for labor by the quarter hour and didn't know why this small job wouldn't qualify for the $130 price he quoted me on the phone for something that took about 15 minutes! I let him know I wasn't thrilled and he started quoting other places that were allegedly much higher for just a service call instead of explaining his pricing. He never even offered me an itemized bill either showing exactly how he justified that price either! In retrospect I should have demanded one. I thought all professionals would do that for repairs! He didn't even offer a receipt either although I did pay with a check. I thought he was a little unscrupulous quoting me $70 cheaper on the phone than what he charged when the work was done--especially when I would have been hesitant to put $200 dollars more into that old of a dryer--and he was aware of the age of my dryer! I also looked up the serial # of my belt and it was only $10 on Amazon--so if was $90 for diagnostic and $10 for belt he charged me $100 for 15 minutes of work! I would not recommend this company.

One time Kevin came and made fixes to my dishwasher, refrigerator, AND dryer in one visit, all on the same $75. I hit the jackpot that day. One time they told me by my description over the phone that my washer could not be saved, and recommended that I save the money for the service call. Kevin has made a variety of practical suggestions to prolong the life of my machines, or prevent problems. I have never felt taken advantage of in any way. I just called today about my 22 year old dryer. They told me right away that this could be saved, and they'll be here tomorrow. I think I have almost always had an appointment the next day. I am surprised to see any negative reviews of this company at all. I have been extremely thankful to have a good appliance repair person whenever I have needed one.

His office lady said I could get it faster if I ordered it. My complaints were numerous but Kevin could not fix my range. My insurance company gave me another appliance repair company. I only had to call them once. They knew immediately what was wrong, ordered the Part themselves and fixed my range. For the first time... my new range is quiet. Kevin called me upset that my warranty had run out. He knew I had the extended insurance. I'm very unhappy with Kevin's appliance repair. I cannot recommend this repair company.
