Have you ever seen something online and thought... I gotta have that! That happened to me last…read moreweek. While relaxing and checking out The Gram, I came across an amazing looking cupcake. I'm an Oreo / Cookies and Cream addict. I've never met an Oreo I didn't like... Thin...Regular...Stuffed...Double Stuffed -- You name it, I've eaten it. Now...Imagine my suprise when I found out I could get them at the Farmer's Market 5 minutes from my house!! What?!?!? Of course, you know where I was on Saturday... At the Farmer's Market, checking out Totally Baked. Now let's talk cupcakes. We got half a dozen (yes, I shared). I'll review them as they are listed. Side note: The pictures DO NOT do them justice. If you want to see great pictures, check out her IG page @totallybakedcville -- 1) Cookies and Cream: Ya'll this cupcake had a legit Oreo baked into the cake! Chocolate cake with a light creamy icing. The icing had cookie cumbles and a minature Oreo on top. First bite was great! The mix of cream and cake was amazing. I got a hint of the Oreo in the middle, which made the second bite even better. The cake did a good job of holding up around the cookie. I was worried the cookie might become loose. Great start to the tasting. 2) Chocolate Cherry: I do enjoyed filled cupcakes. This chocolate cake had cherry on the inside of the cake. It was topped with a very light cherry flavored icing. The cherry inside helped keep the cake moist. Solid. 3) Lemon Blueberry: Ok, so this was my least favorite. It was good, don't get me wrong, just not my cup of tea. This was the "suck up" cupcake. I got it to "suck up" to my mother in law. She loves Lemon Blueberry. Again this white cake had blueberry in the middle, topped with a light icing and blueberries on top. Very good, but just not for me. 4) Pistachio: Ummmm.... I'll be honest, I rolled my eyes at first when my better half chose this one. BUT... It was my next favorite after Cookies and Cream. The cake was amazingly flavored. It has just enough of the pistachio flavor to keep me intriged, but sweet enough to keep me around. Paired with the pistachio icing and crumbles, this one is a hit! 5) Sweet and Salty: Solid white cupcake with what tasted like a maple glaze over the cupcake. Pretzel pieces were then placed on top of the icing and glaze. I love the texture the pretzel pieces give the cake. Exactly as it is described... Both salty and sweet! 6) Another Cookies and Cream... What?? You think I wouldn't get two?!? I wasn't sharing that one. Overall, I'm proud that my IG digging found them. I love they are close. They do caterings for any type of event. They even offer free delivery?!?! I mean, if they can't make it any easier. They are officially... on my list!

Amazing and so caring! Brenda is so detail oriented and thoughtful and made an almond cake, almond…read morecupcakes, and carrot cake cupcakes for my daughter's wedding. I asked her to make Texas sheet cake, of which she'd never done, and she discovered there was a chocolate and a blonde recipe out there. She made both, not know which we preferred, and also added a few other cupcakes to add color and more flavor to our assortment - all of her own doing and not asking to charge us extra. We gladly compensated her for her sweet thoughtfulness and for treating our daughter's wedding as if it were thing she had on her plate. She's delightful, dependable, and took our daughters wedding personal to make it a beautiful presentation. We travelled back to TN with the few left over desserts and I seriously have hidden them to eat them myself. Highly recommend. She's very responsive and a pro and her sweet husband helped with the delivery.

Excellent, specialized cupcakes from a lovely at-home store owner. Consider using this home baker…read morefor small and large orders! The chocolate cupcake was fluffy, moist, and evenly filled with chocolate ganache. The peanut butter buttercream frosting was one of the best I've had; not overly sweet and was not at all gritty! The individual boxes that the cupcakes came in were a wonderful, unexpected touch. The process for ordering and picking up the cupcakes was effortless. Brenda, the store owner, was a sweet woman who took my phone call with excitement. She walked me through her flavor profiles and gave me an affordable rate for a half dozen cupcakes. I ordered approximately 5 days before I needed to pick them up with no issues. I even gave her an approximate time I would pick them up at and she made sure to have them ready by then. On pickup day, I drove out to her home which was minutes off Route 29 (behind the CVS on Moore Rd.) Her home, including her kitchen, were immaculate and very, very clean! Just a wonderful experience all around! Please consider giving your business to a local baker!

Beautiful bakery with wonderful service and such an amazing cupcake selection, some unique flavors…read moretoo. Flavors we tried: vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, raspberry white chocolate cookie dough and vanilla with strawberry icing and chocolate shavings (not sure of the actual name). All were very tasty, but for me, the highlights were chocolate (excellent), red velvet and vanilla, just amazing, all moist with the right amount of icing. Really want to come back for other flavors. The staff member that helped us was so friendly and helpful. She let us know that it's a good idea to buy in advance as they sell out quickly. She wasn't kidding! When we came back after lunch to pick up our cupcakes that we did buy in advance, some of the flavors were completely gone! So if you know what you want, get it right away.

Baked on the James is an adorable bakery right on the main drag (the only drag) of Scottsville…read more They have a wide variety of cupcake flavors that rotate seasonally and daily (check their social media for a list of flavors!). They are a small batch bakery so their flavors do sell out throughout the day so I recommend getting their early if you don't have a pre-order. Service is quick and staff are very helpful. Small tables a small selection of gift items in store. Cute little bee mural. The cupcakes we have purchased have universally been moist and the frosting has always been the perfect texture and not overly sweet. My husband particularly enjoyed the maple bacon and our guest loved the M&M cookie dough (even the cookie dough tastes homemade in the best way). We know what stop to make when we have guests now!
