When it was time to officially leave Hogwarts after earning high marks on N.E.W.T. level exams and…read moresecuring a position with the Ministry of Magic that finally paid in big-boy/adult money I needed to find a place to live. I did not really know anyone that could help a brotha' out in referring me somewhere, so I took to Yelp to find me an apartmentlocatorsortofperson. I read through some of the reviews and found someone I wanted to use, but that experience did not go very well and I am not going to give that person any free publicity with this review. So I took to Yelp again and uncovered the hidden gem In the Loop Properties - and they did an incredible job for me. I wanted to find a place quick so I sent my information in over the internet on their form. A few hours later I was given the contact information for the guy that was going to be helping me search. Because I am really impatient I also just went over to the office, because I like dealing with people face to face rather than resorting to the phone. In the Loop is in the strip mall on the left side of the street right next to Rudyard's (Waugh is one way only in this part, north straight to the Heights.) As I walked in I met Ada - very friendly. I dealt with Jorge Bolio (and occasionally his wife Heather) in the search for a place to live. They were both very nice, professional, and valued my time - which was nice to have that kind of reciprocity. Everyone kept in touch with me, they kept me up to date on the search, they kept e-mailing the "info sheets" on properties to read through, Jorge drove me out to look at two of the more promising properties, and finally when I thought Houston had absolutely nothing to offer me in terms of what I was looking for: something great happened and it was wrapped up in a box in 40 minutes. After getting an e-mail one afternoon to the effect of "there is nothing here you really want, but maybe you can live with it?" I received a follow-up e-mail a minute later and a phone call. The perfect place and within my price range had suddenly just become available. I conducted a mad dash to go look at the place, toured the property, and made it all my mine with the stroke of a pen and a bunch of dollar bills. The property had been available a sum total of 40 minutes, and not even hit the internets yet, but Jorge knew about it and since it was a GREAT deal, he knew it would not last long so he was willing to be honest that I should pretty much drop what I am doing and go look at it. If he was not great at what he did, this property would have gone to someone else. He knows what he is doing. Because this is Texas if you are non-traditional in any way as you are looking for a place to live: this company is very open-minded, progressive, and tolerant - confirmed elsewhere and by at least one other person on the internets at http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/1635435 the third comment down - so as you are conducting your due diligence on who you want to do business with, just know you are doing business with good people in this office. I have recommended Jorge and In the Loop to my friends relocating to Houston for work and/or school.

ULR seems to come highly praised however my personal experience has been quite annoying. I asked an…read moreagent over two years ago to help me look for an apartment within a specific price range. Once I no longer needed his service (I found my own place), he continued to spam my E-mail account with invitations to rental/homebuying events to promote his business. I had to ask him a few times with a call to the office to request this to stop. It started with LinkedIn, and then through other similar social media mediums, then E-mail. Finally the office took care of it and I had to take the extra step to block him. Then, two years later, another agent who connected with me through LinkedIn as well began to do the same practice. In no way did I ever ask to opt-in to any of these invitations. That means I'm on another distribution list that I never agreed to. She is sending Evites--without any opt-out buttons. I had to contact ULR again, and another agent profusely apologized to me. I'm not into this spamming marketing practice because quite honestly, it cheapens a business and creates a desperate image. Do some of these agents like getting cold calls from random numbers themselves and pressured into something they don't need? I don't think any of us do! So it would imply that with common sense, you shouldn't do what you don't enjoy yourself, to people who aren't clearly requesting your service. The agent who helped me get myself removed from a distribution list (again) says that she doesn't practice those methods herself and aren't exemplary of ULR as a whole, but no one seems to be encouraging or reminding other agents to stop the SPAM method. I never experience this when I contact an agent through HAR. Bottom line: I get it, it works once on a blue moon, but if you're about branding yourself as a high quality agent, this spam stuff is not a lot of people's cup of tea. Try this instead, reach out to a potential client directly and ask if they're currently interested in renting/buying or would like to remain in touch in the future if neither are currently an option. Don't force me into your impersonal mass distribution list against my will. Here's the Federal Trade Commmissin FAQ on SPAM stating you must include information on how to opt-out of receiving future E-mail and honor opt-out requests immediately: https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/blogs/business-blog/2015/08/candid-answers-can-spam-questions

Richard is by far the one locator that will not only get you the best deals but he will make sure you don't get screwed by apt complexes! I recommend him 100%!!! Thank you Richard! PS. The review by Tristan is completely false. He works for an apt complex that wouldn't uphold what their website was saying with first month free. We decided to go to a different apt complex. I have to say everything happens for a reason because we were about to sign with that complex and then that got weird and was like no and thankfully we didn't because we found the PERFECT place!
