Don't waste your time. This is an average at best course that thinks they are St Andrews. The staff members are real special. James leads the way with an utter inability to reason and think through customer issues in real time. A typical response might be, "nothing I can do, that is policy" when tasked with something simple like a cooler request. They make you buy drinks to get a cooler. Except buying water doesn't count. They offer "free" water that is outside temperature. Think summertime. When I offered to buy the water for the requisite drink price, I was then shown the company "sign" or printout that water is excluded for cooler usage. Well, that makes it official. Apparently, if you do not drink sugary drinks or alcohol, you cannot pay the sugary drink or alcohol price and get the "free" water and the cooler. In other words, rent the cooler with 3 bottles of water by paying the same as you would for the drinks. This should work great in the summer because everyone loves 135 degree free water in lieu of a cooler. Absolute morons!!! Been coming here for 20 years and have been an annual member before. No cooler though for water, policy and all. Go to Augusta, Toka, Superstition, Gold Canyon, they all give you a cooler. Again, don't waste your time here.. read more

This course was great for the price and you definitely get your money's worth since the courses are very long! The view is so pretty too with the mountains. Only thing is there are lots of desert and dirt you will have to hit pass / drive pass so it gets very dusty like driving an ATV at lower speeds. There was a patrol person that kept looking or passing us. They didn't mention anything and just wrote down something on their clipboard while looking at our cart. No idea what that was about. The drinks cart came by once right at the 10th hole. Book an early tee time and you will be able finish before it gets too hot. read more

Great Course that had great views and greens were in great shape. Pace of play was the only buzz kill, $130 for three people with a tee time at 2:30pm and only got through 12 holes when it was time to call the carts in at 5:15pm. Overall okay experience. Upsides: -pricing felt fairly reasonable compared to other courses -location is right off the highway -cart has a ball cleaner -lots of folks searching for balls in the desert -fairway desert make your line drives go 100 yrs further! -fun course obstacles! -lots of greens are forgiving, especially if you tend to over hit -course desert / out of bounds areas are fairly well kept. -pace of play was 4 hours ish for all 18 holes, 4 in our party. Downsides: -Lots of dirt and desert-you'll travel through a hundred of yards of desert between the tee box and fairway -course says no outside drinks, but didn't have someone around the course for cold drinks. -cart comes with no cooler -no water or nice restrooms along the way -park ranger always hovering felt like a hazard and adds to anxiety to the pace of play read more

It's golf, and I love golf. So any time I'm out playing a round. It's a great day. Regarding this course. It's mostly flat, with some dog leg holes. The greens are very inconsistent. Some holes are a lot more quicker then others. This is definitely a desert course, however many balls are still playable. Not enough rough to penalize you from not being on the fairway. Now biggest issue here is there lack of grass to hit off of at there driving range. All you need to to is look at the attached picture. With that said, it's golf! Had a great day. read more

If you leave anything in your golf cart they will steal it. They had my wallet one day and gone the next. My buddy left his range finder and they stole that too. I'm not from AZ, let me use that as a disclaimer. But I have golfed here before and this course wouldn't be on my list to return. Golfers constantly crossing fairways because it's so narrow. I feel like the dirt first 150 yards or so when you tee off was an excuse to be lazy. And if you land in the dirt, well there goes the hole. And your club. Hard, rocky dirt that is hard to hit off of with any club. That said, the greens were pretty well maintained and huge. And fast. Back nine was better maintained than the front IMO. But if you can find another course with availability, I'd probably skip the "desert golf" experience. read more

As many say, I wish I could give this course a 0. I played it yesterday and will never go back and I live less than 5 miles away! I played the course once previously so understand that it's a desert course. The layout is generic but it was in absolutely horrible condition this time. It had rained the night before so it was very muddy and therefore cart path only which I understand and therefore chose to walk instead. The greens were the absolute worst I've ever seen for an $85 dollar round of golf. They were bumpy, inconsistent and just in overall rough shape. The fairways were not in great shape either. There were bare spots everywhere and puddles in the middle of them. The course could really use some work. No cart paths to speak of which I guess was okay as I was walking other than there wasn't anywhere to walk and avoid the mud bogs everywhere. I brought all of this to the pro shops attention and turns out I was talking with the head pro. When I first approached him he asked what the issue was as I was the only one to comment about the course condition. Again, the greens were bumpy and the fairways were not in great shape. The course could use some good maintenance. As I told the head pro, I hope he's successful in gouging the winter visitors because as a full time resident of AZ I will never be coming back to this crappy course! read more

Golf course is kinda nice, fairways and greens are nice. I booked a tee time through golf now app. Did not pay through golf now... my partner did not show up. I played as a solo. The next day they charged me for two players as a "no show tee time" even though it was my partner that didn't show up. I understand I made the tee time but how is it fair on my end. They claimed it was "GolfNow that charged the no show tee time" even though on chase it says charged by apache Creek. Regardless of the fact that online their course said 75 and somehow I got charged 95?? Never golfing here again, every time I've been nothing but problems and people with bad attitudes. read more

The owners of the club should spend their entire 2019 budget on new cart paths and directional signage as these are the two areas where this course needs drastic improvement. I would also recommend booking tee times 10 minutes apart, not 8 to allow for players to not have to wait and hurry up. Our round was sandwiched between two foursomes and we waited almost every hole and then had the foursome behind us pushing us to speed up. This club does have a lot of great things about it - practice facilities are awesome (two putting greens, chipping green with sand trap, and driving range). The views around the course are great, Staff was friendly and I bought a pop before my round and got a free refill at the turn! The course was in great shape, but you better hit it in the fairway because any errors left or right and you're in the desert! Overall, a decent course that is hard to find your way around, but hey you'll have plenty of time! read more

When it comes to valley golf, you get what you pay for. That's the case for Apache Creek. This is mid level desert golf but truly one of the best courses in that category. Love their practice facility, one of the best chipping areas if not the very best among public courses in the area. The range top always has solid, well manicured grass to hit from with plenty of range targets. It's not the prettiest but it's very usable for players of any skill level. The food in the grill is great, the service all around is perfect.. not obnoxious/overbearing but friendly enough. The course is fair and fun to play. It rewards good golf! Conditions are typically on par with any other course in this price range. There are seasonal ebbs and flows but if you've played golf in the valley for any period of time You would know that unfavorable conditions are not a result of lack of maintenance. this place is as good as it gets in this price range, i drive past 4-5 other options on my way out here even just to practice. read more

Called the course and talked to Elisah. She said a time just opened up and told her I'll be right there. Got there and it was given to another person. I gave her my name and to page me if there is a cancellation. Decided to hit some balls by the 1st tee and while I was there saw a threesome teeing off. Talked to the starter and said it just came up which was bull. The truth is that there was 5 guys with only 1 starting time. So they added another group to accommodate this group adding even more of a delay for all the golfers behind them. I have played this course multiple times over the past 7 years and my most recent experience was by far the worst. We played our entire round in under 4 hours but we were hounded by the ranger the entire time. At times no one was even behind us and he still stopped to tell us to 'try and catch up'. I understand keeping up with the pace of play, however rushing people for no reason made the round overall unenjoyable. Drive the extra 4 miles and go to Mountain Brook. read more

I wish i could give this zero stars. When I purchased the cart and time the man said "oh there's some mosquitos" and man did he lie right to my face. There were mosquitoes on every single home. Me and three people literally swatting and dodging them every stroke. I've played hundreds of rounds of golf and this was by far the worst round of golf I've experienced. The mosquitos were so bad that me and my wife skipped the last 9 holes to ask for a refund of 9 holes (because we paid for 18 holes) and the old lady at the end denied us with massive attitude and said "you played for 2 and a half hours." Okay? And 4 people (2 newbies) all having to dodge and weave malaria is going to take 2.5 hours. I also got stung in the face and 4 times in the arm. DO NOT GOLF HERE. I've been reading some if the reviews posted and I wish I could find out more about the people that are writing the reviews. Apache Creek, located east of Mesa, about 40 minutes from Sky Harbour airport, is a flat, desert incorporated golf course. From the back tees, expect just under 7000 yards but most weekend players can choose between 5900 to 6600 yards. Prices vary from peak season to summer rates (like everywhere) but on the whole a good value course. Now. Here are some negatives. The course has dried up a bit. The fairways were well groomed but tight. ANYTHING into the desert requires a few minutes of searching but the drug hard packed gravel will send the ball running for many, many yards.(see my posted photos. No I dont hit that far) I noticed some comments about long stretches of desert before you get to the fairway. Yes. A few holes require a 100 to 160 yard carry off the tee, but you can alwsays play forward from a shorter tee box. Pro shop and restaurant have very typical deals. You can grab breakfast or lunch but I recommend you eat in the patio and not in your cart. Why? There are some VERY aggressive birds and rodents that can find ANY food item left in your cart. Go book a time at Apache Creek. If you enjoy open spaces, this is a good course to play. read more

The layout is very generic. It's in horrible condition. Hard pan dirt everywhere just off the fairways and around the greens. Cart paths are full of pot holes. Udate to how awesome this place really is. The pro shop has the biggest selection of preowned equipment I have seen in years. The prices are very good. I saw a set of mizuno mp 62 for under 300 just as one example. Had to inquire so the nice woman in the shop had told me they had purchased someones golf club collection that was massive. Give these people some business if you are looking for equipment. Golf clubs are becoming hot commodities these past two years since the industry has grown so much. May have to go back for some of those titleist putters that were in there :) read more

This golf course was pretty nice. While it was a bit more difficult because there is a lot of desert and less grass areas, it was still a great experience. On-Time for Tee Time: They kept us on the schedule for our Tee off. They didn't have us go early, like I have experienced at other courses. Other courses that start doing that and end up 30+ minutes ahead and then others miss their scheduled tee time, when they are actually on time. Not here. They stuck to the schedule. Pace: The pace was great. There was not the tight management as I have experienced at other courses. We did have a guy come and ask if the pace was ok for us, and we were fine. I didn't feel stressed about keeping up and we didn't really wait all that long by the time we got to the next hole. Other reviews may say the pace was too slow. That is their preference, but I wouldn't mark it down because of that. If you want a faster pace, go to another course that runs it that way. It was a great relaxing time of golf, even though my game that day was horrible. :) Of course, it is always horrible. I need to take some lessons. Hahaha. Layout: It is a bit dangerous with the layout on some of these holes. One of our guys was nearly hit by a ball within 3 feet. Yikes! -- It wouldn't have been so bad, but no one yelled out "Four!" -- That is not the fault of the course, that is the fault of the golfer not being responsible. Included lunch: This was great. The sandwich was full of meat for me. My friend ordered the tuna sandwich and it was packed with tuna. Great lunch after a great game. I would have given this course a 5, but with the dangerous layout of some of these holes, I had to mark it down. read more

This is easily the worst golf course I have ever played. There are several problems with it: First of all, it's a desert course. Not that there's anything wrong with desert courses, but on some holes, the fairway does not start until 150-200 yards off the tee. That's fine on most courses, but on this one, if you don't hit the fairway, it'll be nothing but dirt and rocks. No rough or anything. On most long holes, if you mess up the tee shot, your hole is blown. Second, the layout is dangerous, especially on the back nine. There is one spot where three holes more or less converge, and you are right in the path of errant shots from not one or two, but three holes. You have to keep your eyes open or you can get nailed. Third, there is no enforcement of pace whatsoever. We played there during the summer, and there was a line at the tee for most of the front nine. In all, the game took 5 1/2 hours to play, which is ridiculous. Finally, very few holes have yardage markers. Combine this with no GPS, and it makes club selection very difficult, if not impossible. It's tough to get an accurate measurement by eying it or using the scorecard. The only redeeming part of this course is an island green on the sixth hole, although I should note that it appears as if nobody bothers to repair ball marks there. read more

I want to pass this on about Apache Creek Golf Club, The course it self is unlike most Courses, It is mostly flat, lots of sand so use a older set of clubs so you don't beat up your good set! The course is in good shape other then the driving range which was really beat up. The biggest problem we had was we had a 1:35 tee time, we were able to get to hole 17 because they were so backed up there letting people out with on 5 min intervals! when a worker came to us and said that this is our last hole, our comment: why? there comment: because i said so! the cart needed to be in by 5:30! They don't tell you that when you pay your $45 to play 18 holes! One of our people said why don't you have a ranger out here pushing the play action and his comment was YOU CAN THANK THE SNOW BIRDS FOR THAT!! Never in my life have seen anything like this!! If you get a tee time after 1:30 you will not get 18 holes of golf in and Apache Creek Golf Club does not care!!! They have no problem taking your money and care less if you are a satisfied customer! read more

Made tee time on Golf Now. Called to cancel because two players were sick and did not want to brave the wind. Called the Pro Shop and asked if we could cancel our tee time even thought we had booked with Golf Now because I did not want to be charged. I was told yes, you are good. We were charged by the golf course anyway, even though they had plenty of time to resell the tee time! I spoke with Kelly and she said too bad. We charged you and cannot comp you any golf or refund your $189.00, because you were a NO SHOW. I told her that we were told by the Pro Shop-- that we were okay and would not be charged when I cancelled our tee time. SO, no more golf At Apache Creek for us or our friends. We were lied to and our money stolen! read more
