About a month later, I decided not to use the open flower bed in the front and Bulldog came back out and paved it in without charged, even though it was Pete's suggestion to pave it when we first met. And it has involved a lot of coordination with others (plumbing, landscaping, electrical, etc.). Not only has the work been outstanding with craftmanship that exceeds my hopes, the crew has been nothing short of charming and hard working throughout the heat of the desert. Bulldog worked closely with me all the time and was very efficient in using materials so that waste was minimized. One of the most important things is that when there have been issues (as there inevitably are in any large complex project), Gustavo on site and Pete at the office have been superb. The team has fixed things on the spot, made adjustments (even when it wasn't their fault that things weren't right), and never raised a complaint. The team takes pride in their work and have been a complete pleasure to work with.

From our first meeting, Francisco took the time to clearly explain every step of the process, including obtaining the city permit, demolition, backfilling, soil compaction, and providing a soil compaction/inspection report that will be valuable if I ever decide to build an ADU. He also walked me through the removal of the pool equipment, demolition of the surrounding flatwork, and the proper capping of the electrical and gas lines. His knowledge and attention to detail gave me confidence that the project would be done correctly. On top of that, his pricing was competitive and very reasonable. Francisco and his father, Rigo, make an outstanding team. They arrived promptly at 7:00 a.m. every day, kept me informed throughout the entire project, and coordinated every step seamlessly--from city inspections to imported fill dirt and soil compaction testing. Everything happened exactly as Francisco had explained from the beginning. Throughout the demolition and backfilling process, they worked carefully and professionally, always prioritizing safety and leaving the job site clean and organized at the end of each day. It's rare to find contractors who are this dependable, communicative, and take such pride in their work. I highly recommend Francisco, Rigo, and Colossal Excavation to anyone needing a pool removal, excavation, grading, or site preparation project. Their professionalism, honesty, and quality of work exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.
