Great place to park if you want to visit Little Tokyo and if you do just stop by for less than 2 hours, it's only 1 dollar per hour for the first two hours before 5pm. It's right across the street from the new Kinokuniya which is super nice. Parking lot feels pretty safe and they do have security driving around in their own car. It's located next to a bunch of legit businesses and high-rises so it doesn't feel sketchy or unsafe. Great parking spot for sure. I still wouldn't leave anything valuable in the car though.

The Row opened almost 10 years ago on the edge of Arts District and is spread across 30 acres. As mentioned with the charging, they do have a parking garage which is really nice when coming here. And it's a nice garage, well kept and clean, free for 2 hours with validation. You never need to worry about parking when you come here! Like much of Arts District, it's kind of industrial chic vibes. It's an open-air spot with just lovely landscaping and seating all around. There are some excellent food options like Pikunico and Hayato, as well as Go Get Em Tiger for coffee needs. Very cool stores including concept spots and trendy clothing shops. And i'm def getting my next tattoo at Nonfromseoul. Aside from the brick & mortar shops and restaurants and weekly Sunday Smorgasburg, I've been to some other smaller cultural fests & pop ups here. It's always trendy and cute at ROW DTLA!

The Perishing Square lot has sketchiness as well, but there are several reasons that I choose to park here if I'm going to Downtown LA in areas south of Skid Row. (In areas north of skid row, I'd park in Little Tokyo). First, if you park here on the weekends or after 5pm on weekdays, they have a flat rate for $9. During work hours on weekdays, the rate would be around $20 if you stay longer than 2 hours ($3 per 15 min with $20 max). Second, though the area is sketchy, there is security and this is a covered lot. Even the presence of security is a step up from most of the lots in the area. It may be only as good as a car alarm; however, I'll take it. Lastly, I feel that it's pretty conveniently located to key attractions in DTLA like Grand Central Market, Jewelry District, and some of the hotels in the area. In terms of safety and convenience, DTLA is one of the worst places to park in Los Angeles; however, I think this lot is one of the best of the worst. Note: entrances to this lot can be found on 5th and 6th streets between Hill and Olive. Note: If you are intending to go to Little Tokyo, Arts District, or north of skid row, look up the Aiso parking lot.

Solution: nice security guard saved me: 424 threee oh two 65 one oneeeee! FUCK THIS SHIT. The garage is technically open -- the elevator works and cars can exit via sensor -- but the passenger gate is locked, which makes retrieving a car at night unreasonably difficult. It's strangely quiet in certain sections of the mall and feels a little eerie. There's one restroom on the second floor past a long horror movie hallway. Idk if this "Galleria" is experiencing a resurgence or if it's slowly fading. I hear they have Japanese/anime pop-up markets on select days and other festivities. However, again I see closed businesses. My understanding is that locals still come here and tourists enjoy the accessibility to Coffee Bean. Personally, I only come for Coffee Bean and Miniso (on rare occasion). KBBQ 333 is a pricey Korean restaurant that I also frequent once a year. Other than that, there's not much to do other than the upstairs arcade. Customer service is pretty solid at most businesses.

I wandered through a few of them, including the ones with the gashapon and claw machines, which was a blast. There happened to be a small anime expo going on, so there were cosplayers everywhere and the energy was great. Lots of Japanese food options around. I grabbed ramen at one of the shops, and there is plenty of variety if you want to eat your way through the plaza. It is a great spot to kill an afternoon, whether you are into anime, Japanese groceries, or just good food. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Little Tokyo.

The plaza is mostly clean and safe to walk around. We spent about an hour here. We bough some stuff from Nijiya market, got kimono from Shinyodo gift shop and got ice cream from Little Tokyo Ice cream and yogurt. All staff members in each store were nice. Prices varied from average to high based on products.

Not much in the way of destinations, but definitely gets people to and from their jobs in the area. It also gets me to Restaurant Depot for unconventional cooking supplies (like CO2 cartridges.)

It's hard to beat the price for such a prime location. I also really like that they use the Metropolis parking system. No paper tickets, no fumbling at the gate. Super quick and seamless -- perfect for busy mornings when you just want to get in and out without waiting in line. Clean, well-lit, and easy access. Definitely one of my go-to parking spots in DTLA. I chose this garage because the online pricing appeared to be under $20 for the amount of time I needed. The entry process was not clear. When I pulled in, the machine allowed me to double-tap and pay with Apple Pay, so naturally I assumed I had entered correctly. When I tried to leave less than an hour later, I discovered I couldn't exit. I circled through the structure and eventually made my way to the Hope Street exit, where the attendant's only assistance was pressing the button to connect me with an operator. The operator told me that I was supposed to press a button and take a ticket when entering rather than use Apple Pay. I explained multiple times that this was my first time parking here, that the machine had accepted my payment method, and that I had been parked for less than an hour. Instead of checking whether there was any way to verify my entry time or offering any reasonable solution, she immediately defaulted to charging me the full $55 daily rate. Her explanation was essentially that because I didn't have the correct ticket, there was "no way to know" how long I had been there, and that otherwise overnight parking would cost more than $100. I'm still not sure how that justifies charging a customer who is actively trying to leave after less than an hour the entire $55 daily rate. I wasn't rude, argumentative, or asking to park for free. I explained that I had made an honest mistake because the entry process was unclear and asked whether there was any compromise. There was absolutely no grace, discretion, or attempt to help. I was simply told that the only way I could get my car out of the garage was to pay $55. So I paid $55 to leave a parking structure I had used for less than an hour. Poor instructions are one thing. Holding a customer to the maximum daily rate after an easily explained first-time mistake, with no effort to troubleshoot or compromise, is what makes this a one-star experience. Highly do not recommend. Save yourself the frustration and park directly at your destination, even if the advertised rate looks higher. I certainly will next time.

The second time was a couple weeks ago, when my friend Mike K. wanted to buy some affordable jewelry to step up his look. Santee Alley is part of the larger Fashion District, with its bad parking and general downtown grime. It's not a place I'd send tourists, but it's a fun place to visit during business hours, with over 100 stalls selling all kinds of fashion items. My friends got their fake LV, back in the day, and Mike had his choice of jewelry. We stopped at several stalls and he picked up a couple of gold-plated bracelets from some friendly vendors, at reasonable prices, though there was more precious jewelry available as well. I guess I'm not a Santee Alley regular, but I've enjoyed my time there. It's kind of the opposite of shopping online. I like the people and the unique environment.
