I think this is a nice thing to have in the City of La Pine, being that the next closest major gym is probably Bend. I assume the folks who live here really appreciate it and I found it nice to have as I traveled through the area. I found the owner/manager and folks inside to be pleasant. I did only give three stars though because of a few things; 1.) there was nowhere to get water. I'm always confused by gym establishments that do not have water fountains; 2.) there wasn't a shower squeegee so that I could clean up the inevitable water mess after using the shower; and 3.) there was some equipment missing that I typically use in my workout, such as kettlebells (there were two 30ish lb ones and two smaller odd shaped 10lb or so kettlebells, no boxes for jumping) I didn't notice jump ropes but didn't look too hard after realizing I already needed to modify my workout plan. None of these things are 'necessary' or deal breakers for going. Here are just things that I noticed that I've enjoyed using at other locations and wasn't able to at this one. Also, I'm surprised by a few prior reviews stating they were being told they have to sign a year contract. I'm not sure if I've ever heard of that requirement. I guess I could have been oblivious to that but who knows. read more

This gym is the biggest rip off ever. I had to pay over 100$ just to join, then I had to pay 42$ a month after that. I have never had to pay so much to use a gym. Especially a gym that has such a little amount of equipment. No sauna, no hot tub, no steam room, no lockers or locker room. The only reason this place is still in business is cause they are the only game in town. Also the owner and staff are very rude and unprofessional. This gym is an excellent facility. Has all the equipment one needs for a more than decent work out. The staff is great. Personable and friendly, not to mention helpful if you have any questions. Bridgett, George and Gary are wonderful folks. This facility is spotless. Equipment is in excellent shape. Private bathrooms include private showers and are absolutely clean. Where do you get private showers at a gym!!! No complaints. Priced moderately at $42 a month - do some comparison shopping and see for yourself. This facility is the ONLY gym in La Pine and I'm grateful its there. Every member gets an entrance key so you can go anytime. I've been going to this facility for almost two years now and have no complaints and have found the staff to be nothing but wonderful read more

Wow. We were willing to pay anything to use this gym for just a week, and the rude man that approached us immediately said he can't help us. We would need to sign up for a year commitment to use anything there. Seriously? Plus, there wasn't a single person in there. The men on staff and the owner at this gym are the most inappropriate and unprofessional people I've ever come across. They will treat you like a criminal when attempting to bring guests in. My husband has been an Anytime Fitness member for several years and has always been able to bring me in as a guest without any problems. While visiting our parents for Christmas we decided to go for a workout. We were approached by a man very aggressively who told us that we were not allowed to be in the gym unless we lived in La Pine. He repeatedly accused us of wrong doing and wanted us out of the gym. We then spoke to the owner who was just as aggressive and inappropriate. There seems to be men that stay lurking in hidden areas of the gym watching people as they exercise waiting to be able to jump out and ridicule you at their leisure. These old men really need to get off their high horses and learn some respect. Beware of this gym, do not waste your money on this place. You will only be subjecting yourself to creepy disrespecting staff members. Very disappointed in this gym. read more

Joined fitness center October 2012 and from the get go was a total nightmare. Almost every week it was something terribly new and bad. from don't move weights around , don't breath so hard, why is your face so red and use lighter weights if you have to groan. The owner of the fitness center told me at the beginning his primary job was his Bounce Back physical therapy program, not the fitness center. On or about December 28,2012, I Was on the flat bench working my back with the bar on the bench, with weights on both sides. He picked me up on camera,ran over to my bench and told me he has told me numerous times not to move weights around. He then told me to get out of his gym, handed me 40.00 dollars for December.and told me he was taking me out of the Anytime Fitness system. He escorted me to the door and said never come back. I 'M 65 years old and have been to many fitness centers and never have I been treated like that. So.............word to the wise-distance yourself from the La Pine Anytime Fitness center. read more
