I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience at Anytime Fitness Buda, especially how they handled my personal training charges. Back in September 2024, I let the manager, Jessica Cusimano, know (via text) that I needed to cancel my training sessions because I WAS IN INDIA AND MY DAD DIED. She acknowledged my message and told me her boss would cancel the account. I trusted that. But I kept getting charged. In October, I followed up and Jessica confirmed the mistake. She said I could either get a refund or use the sessions later. Fast forward: I was charged for 21 sessions ($554.40), but I only got 4 sessions total. And now they're telling me the rest of the sessions "expired" and I can't get my money back. Even though I have written proof of everything. This is just wrong. I've provided screenshots of our text conversation and copies of my credit card charges, and still--nothing has been done. If you're thinking about doing personal training at this gym, please be careful. Check your charges and get everything in writing. Tried to cancel my membership after I moved away. The manager said I had to request it in writing. When I asked him to email the form he said it had to be in person. Ok, so in person, in writing, and I no longer live there. I would have to drive 5 hours to Austin to cancel my membership? After I requested my cancellation they continued to charge me a total of $500 in fees even though I submitted multiple requests to cancel my membership online and on the phone. None of my online requests were ever responded to and the manager was next to impossible to get a hold of. This should be criminal. And it seems like a lot of other people have had the same problem. read more

Firstly - The machines and equipment here are all rusted and feel like they're about to break. The machines are also too close to each other so half the time you're bumping into other people while working out. So my gym experience as a whole hasn't been well. Also they told us before we signed up that they have employees in their gym every weekday from 8am-5:30. I work from home and workout at 9-10am everyday and have never seen an employee unless they were giving someone a tour. Lastly. Cancelling here has been a nightmare. As mentioned before, they have almost never have any employees in the gym, so cancelling in person isn't an option. We called a collective 16 times over 2 weeks on all weekdays and left voicemails each and everytime and never received a call back. We also never received a text back. Also after 22 emails after 3 full weeks we never received an email back. We finally just had our bank block the charges and they finally texted us back. Moral of the story - The gym is a scam. I recommend the gym down the street at the Buda fieldhouse it is CHEAPER CLEANER and BIGGER read more

I visited this Anytime again over the holidays and it has improved. It's not as moldy or dirty but still a little dusty and overcrowded with old machines. I would NOT recommend this gym to anyone!! I own a cleaning/organizing business and was called to deep clean and organize supply closet. I did walk thru and we set a price. On first day of work I gave gym manager invoice for services agreed upon and began to work. It took four days to get the place back into working order. To say it wouldn't pass a health inspection is putting it mildly. Completed job and was told I would get paid. Waited 10days and followed up... over month later and still no payment. The gym called me... I did service asked and expected to be paid. Not a hard thing right? Well I find it really sad when someone could actually stiff the person keeping people from suing you. The germs and filth a gym generally get from regular use needs to be cleaned regularly. Tell my why a gym that hasn't been cleaned in over 6 months is still open... I have been a member ship at this gym for one year now. I have generally not utilized this gym as it is always filthy, there are almost never sanitizing wipes in the dispensers, and when there are sanitizing options available, most of the people don't use them. Want to work out after work? Wait until 9:00 pm. Otherwise it is crowded, with not even enough room to turn around. Now, I am moving away from Buda, and reached out to the gym to cancel my membership. The closest facility to my new location is 20+miles away. I've worked out at this Anytime Fitness location for a year now. One of my favorite gyms around! The atmosphere is great for anyone wanting to work hard to achieve their fitness goals. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help you out to the best of their abIlity! As you can see from the picture posted, they have a huge selection of dumbbells which are my favorite, but they also have any equipment you need from free weights, to cables, to machines, and much more. Not many options for a gym in Buda, but the extra drive to Austin is probably worth it. It is dirty and stinky. Always crowded. I put up with it for two years, with the attitude that it was close and convenient. I moved to south Austin in November and knew my contract expired soon. When I did call to cancel the manager told me that "I was no longer under contract and that if I came by the gym today or tomorrow to cancel in person I would not have to pay next month's bill." Well I came in the next afternoon and the story changed i needed to cancel 30 days in advance to not be charged and it being 29 days to the next bill I would be charged. The manager admitted to his claim the previous day and that he would make it right. Well that was just lip service I guess. For 40 bucks a month you can do a lot better. read more

Didn't expect much from the outside of the building, which looks tiny! But after visiting the club, I'm really impressed at the choices Anytime Fitness has made to get the most out of a small space. This club has pretty much everything one would need out of a gym, has a nice design and atmosphere, and the biggest advantage of all: location!! AF tends to pick up smaller markets that the big commercial gyms don't service. I got to thinking, if I'm driving 15-20 minutes to the gym, I'm probably burning at least a gallon of gas per visit. At over $3 per visit, in excess of club fees, doesn't take long before looking at a membership to Anytime makes a lot of sense (even for a person who bought in to a $49/yr lifetime membership deal to 24 Hour Fitness. Glad to see that Anytime hits the mark (and offers real 24-hour access), and I will be returning to look at pricing soon. read more

On any given day there are several machines that arent working. Keep in mind there are only 1-4 treadmills and many people bring their friends in after 7 (gym is not supervised) and the gym may be flooded with non members and kids that break the machines or make an unsafe environment. When brought to the new manager's attention, he says it's up to the members to confront the non members... BEWARE getting trainer! Most members know that the trainers dont stay long and you will be stuck paying the remainder of the gym contract even if you dont use the credits. The trainer contract costs $$$ thousands. Calling the headquarters or managers will result in un-returned phone calls. Try the listed phone numbers, they are NOT working.... If you need to work out when you get off work in the afternoon, you will likely not get access to the machine you want. There are also many days that the access doors are not working, so the place is empty as members arent able to get in...... This location has everything you need to get a well rounded workout in! New management has also been very helpful to me as well. Where to being. First off just DO NOT go here!!! NO NO NO NO NO bad business! After doing a one week trial and dealing with the cramped and dirty facility, I decided to get a membership since it is the closest to my house. When I informed Fernando (sales associate) that I would like to join. The first thing I was asked, was if I had cash or card on hand to get things rolling. I did not at this time. The next day when I walked in again he asked immediately for payment. I gave him my card and was anticipating going over the paperwork before being charged anything. Not the case, he immediately charged my card and when I asked how much for the month to month membership he states it was $56! It seems to be a business practice of AF to get the money first and explain things later. Once I stated this gym is not worth $56 and Fernando agreed. I told him, I do not want to continue. He then calls his manager (forgot his name as this was early October Aaron perhaps). He attempts to slash the price in half to get me to sign up. This gym is not worth $28 either. Then he says, "Well since you haven't signed anything, I guess there is nothing I can do". He then told me his accountant would have to send me a check in the mail (yeah I've heard that before) aka we have your money and you may or may not get it back. I am still wondering his course of action had I signed anything. Since this day the only communication from them is text messages to get me to sign up again. I have called, messaged (through yelp), and text messaged them with no reply. I went in last week and Fernando took my name and number. I guess he threw it in the trash because I still have not heard anything from anyone at the company. Do not give them your money. Planet Fitness is $15 a month for better equipment, staff, and facility. read more

There aren't many gym options in Buda. I was going to planet fitness in South Austin and that was cleaner than this small gym. First off, during the weekends no one works, so they run out of wipes and towels and stuff. Second, no one wipes their damn machines. As I work at a hospital, this is just disgusting. Even the "trainer" works with her clients and doesn't encourage them to wipe their machine. Or she will apparently be doing some rotation of various machines, which I think is just inconsiderate, and won't wipe the machine down--thinking they can come back to it cause it's gross. Or because she thinks everyone knows what machines they were previously working on? Or she will sit on a machine and I want to use it. Third, they don't honor the "no slamming weights" rule. Even with the manager there, people don't wipe their machines and they slam weights all the time. He doesn't do anything. Fourth, they don't have lockers. Fifth, this place is so expensive and the equipment is outdated, where the hell does the money go? We even have a bi-yearly expense for up keep of the machines. What a waste. Update: there aren't many gyms in this area so still here. They've been out of sanitary wipes for almost a week and places GLASS CLEANER as an alternative. As someone who works in a hospital, this is disgusting. Management needs to take proper inventory and maybe Even order extra wipes cause this is a common 3rd update: told the manager Thursday two of the four treadmills aren't working and he said he'd take a look. Still not working and no out of order signs. You are not just a customer here but a friend. They genually care about your goals as far as fitness and how you are doing in general. I have been trying to cancel my membership. Initially with Fernando, I went in to cancel and he said he would take care of it. My membership fees were still being auto-drafted after that, I called and spoke with Sal, told him I moved to Round Rock, he said I had to come in to the location to cancel, I went in today and he wasn't even there and nobody was there to help me. Please cancel me, I hate paying for a membership I don't even use, especially when I didn't even like the gym membership when I did go. This shouldn't be an issue, you should be able to cancel me. I thought it would be fine despite the bad reviews, but I was wrong! This is honestly one of the nastiest gyms I've ever been to. The equipment is all old and squeaks, the padding on everything is old and torn. The whole place just stinks the second you walk in, and no one wipes anything down. I honestly can't believe I have to resort to writing a review on Yelp to get management's attention. I asked Johnathan for the Area Manager's contact information, and was given what turned out to be Aaron's number, the Kyle Anytime Fitness manager, who basically said to send an email to the Anytime Fitness email address, as I most likely wouldn't be able to talk to anyone else. Well, guess this is how I'll have to let management know about my experience. I've been a member of Anytime Fitness in Buda for nearly 4 years. I've had issues in the past with the cleanliness and the lack of working equipment, but stuck it out because I would see improvements on and off. I recently made the decision to cancel my membership and join another gym. My reasons, in part, were due to the conditions of the gym, but mostly because it no longer met my fitness needs. This morning I went into the gym to cancel. I originally emailed the gym and they said I needed to come in to cancel. Not a problem. When I arrived, Johnathan was on a conference call. He stepped out of his office and said he couldn't help me right now, but wrote my name down on his spiral notebook and told me to "Go ahead and sign by your name and I'll do my best to sign it like you on the cancellation form when I'm done" to which I replied no and asked when he would be available. I couldn't believe he suggested that. He told me when and I said OK and left. I returned at lunch to cancel my membership. Johnathan was in the middle of working out with his friend. I apologized for interrupting his workout; he said, "No problem let me print your form out." While I was in his office, I happened to look down at his spiral notebook where he had written my name only to see my name circled with an arrow pointing to the word B***h and another arrow pointing to the word C**t. When I asked him WTH?, he said "Oh it wasn't me, it was my friend." I immediately called out his friend who acted as if he had no idea what I was talking about. All Johnathan could keep saying was, "Look I'm really sorry, there's no need to call anyone." He finally gave me Aaron's number after I repeatedly asked for the Area Manager's number. There are no words to articulate how truly offended I am by his actions. To refer to a woman in that manner is beyond comprehension. To have a "manager" treat a customer that way is reprehensible. The decision to put an individual of this character in a management role has to be the biggest mistake this company could have made. I deserve a call from an Area Manager and I hope to get one. PLEASE do not go here! Save yourself from the trouble. I signed up here and though the gym would "do the job" as nothing is really offered in Buda. After a few months my access was stopped due to the billing company(which is a third party) making a mistake on billing. I contacted them and had it corrected...but it took a day or two. No big deal.... A month or two went by and the same thing happened again....again I contacted the manager (Andy) and in a day or two it was fixed. Well after about 5 months same thing happened. This time I gave up and decided not to bother. Well, big mistake. Without any contact 4 months later I get a notice from a collection agency that they have sent me to collection for 600$. I contacted the manager at anytime fitness and he has no idea what customer service is or common sense. Tells me they have been trying to contact me on the wrong phone number (their error). No emails or letter sent to my house....However, they found it easier to sent it to collections. I talked to him on the phone and he is so close minded and black and white it is unbelieveable. I offered to meet him halfway and try to resolve this and explained the error not being my fault. Guy doesn't care. Doesn't listen. Honestly, reasons like this is why buisnesses fail. I will make sure to tell everyone I know how poor the anytime fitness in Buda Tx is...or as a whole. I looked them up after the fact and Anytime fitness has a track record of billing errors and likes to send to a third party to ruin peoples credit... Save yourself the problems and drive the extra 5-10 min to Manchaca or Kyle and go to a place that cares about their people and having some integrity. Nothing like getting up at 5am to go to gym and being locked out several times....then getting a bill and having collections for a companys mistake. The collections agency was very kinda and empathetic. I wish Anytime fitness hired a better person to run this location.
