I told…read morethe nurse practitioner that I was short of breath, had a cough, low fever, fatigue, loss of taste and smell. She told me I had a virus to go home. No tests were needed. I asked if she could order a chest X-ray and if I could get tested for covid-19 - or at least the flu. I tried to tell her I had recently took a flight to Miami, Florida to see family - but she cut me off, saying: my symptoms were not consistent with covid-19 & that she was not going to "waste a test on me". My husband and I were stunned at her response! She made me feel as if I was "acting" or "seeking attention". It was a HORRIBLE experience! The worst one I have ever had - To feel that sick & be treated so poorly by a medical professional. It's not right!!! In the end, she did order a chest X-ray, but did not do any other tests. She smugly told me that the x-ray was clear, "as she knew it would be". I went to work the next few days - I'm a high school teacher. Four days later my husband had to rush me to the hospital b/c I could not breath. I tested positive for influenza A, influenza B, Epstein Barr - & COVID-19! I was sent to Houston and hospitalized immediately. My husband had to contact the school. By God's grace, none of my students tested positive for covid-19. Hindsight is 20/20. I should have questioned her... gone to Beaumont for another opinion. But I trusted her b/c she is a medical professional! I've debated writing this review. I live in Mauriceville. My children have grown up here & I love my small town. My PCP is in Orange, my dentist in Vidor. So I did not want to cause problems. However, the lady that treated me should be aware that she was dead wrong & that her negligence could have caused an unimaginable amount of repercussions!! I could have died, leaving my husband and children alone. I could have infected all of my 157 students. I could have infected my family, friends... So many things could have happened. If she was tired, she should have gone home! It is my hope that the correct people read this review & that steps are taken so that this situation NEVER happens again!!!

Was told to book an APPOINTMENT online when I called two hours prior to coming because I didn't want to wait 2 hours with a newborn. So I booked an APPOINTMENT (which it clearly states on their website) for 6pm. Got there just to be told it's not actually an appointment and I'd have to wait behind the 7 others that got there 30 minutes ago - and the wait was still going to be around 2 hours with 1 provider there. What a wreck. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere.

They have always been able to get me well without having to go back again for that illness whatever it may be. I have even referred family and friends to Broussard Family Practice. They have experience the same quality of care and we're pleased. I feel very comfortable and confident that we have the best in Beaumont.

They will work you in as fast as possible!!! You will not have to wait long before being brought to the back to the nicest exam rooms, full of great working toys and original artwork adorning all of the walls! The art is created by Lana Griffith herself, and it has such a cute and whimsical feel, as well as pictures of her family! (Which makes me feel so at home!) The ladies checking your vitals are always so friendly and smiling, making you feel like family. After a short wait you will meet Lana or Randall, who are genuine and wonderful people who actually care to spend the time getting to know your story, history, medical issues, etc! When walking out, you will feel thouroughly taken care of, and satisfied. For the kids, there's a great treasure chest full of goodies to choose from while mom or dad is paying! They don't even accept my insurance but I will go there every single time because of the happy feelings I have upon leaving! I have literally been in and out in 20 minutes before!! It's amazing to me! I've never had any problem they couldn't help me with, and all the while, giving me the care and concern of a family member. After sitting in waiting rooms for hours on end, waiting in the exam room for another hour, and feeling rushed the whole appt at most other dr offices, Griffith Family Health is a refreshing change!
