Along with smooth and high quality machines, everything was kept clean and organized. It was definitely bigger than I thought and I enjoyed the layout of the gym. The gym is great probably when it is not crowded and different clientele. If you don't mind that vibe then this gym is your place! Parking was filled, no street parking. The gym looks a lot bigger than what it is. The guy at the front was cool, nice, good staff. They had the music really loud which was rad, loved that.

Living in Hillcrest has so many components that make it a terrific place to live, and one of the…read moreforemost among them is having Prime Fitness just around the corner from my house. Conveniently located on First Street and accessible 24 hours, the gym is clean and well-maintained. Occupying the entire ground floor of a building, it has a feeling of spaciousness about it. Doors that open to the small patio area, along with ceiling fans, enable good air circulation throughout the space. Fellow gym-goers are friendly and always willing to engage when you approach them about routines or exercises. No attitude at this place whatsoever. People are genuinely happy to share their successes and reflections on their own self-journeys to fitness, which makes the gym feel like not only a place the place where you can go to work out, but also a place where you can continually learn from other gym enthusiasts about ways to improve your own focus on physical improvement. A sense of a community among people with a common interest in health and fitness, and a willingness to share it, are two of of the most unique and notable characteristics of this gym. The owner, Keith Deidrich, pays meticulous attention to the gym's layout and functionality, resulting in a nice rotation of machines and weights throughout the space. It's exciting to come in to find a new machine, such as the very impressive cable crossover set up, complete with high bars for dead-hangs and pull-ups, or a one-of-a-kind lat pull-over machine that requires the force of your elbows, placed on pads and pushing down, to accomplish the exercise. It's like a squat machine for the upper body. In addition to the machines and freeweights, the gym has add-on weight blocks in gradations of two-and-a-half pounds that are custom-made to be inserted on top of the machine pulley racks to increase the resistance in smaller increments when the built-in 10- or 15-pound increases are too much of a step-up. Being able to use these blocks has enabled me to slowly increase the amount I'm lifting without making a jump up to a higher weight that is just too heavy. And there are plenty of cardio machines as well. In short, this neighborhood-centered gym with its relaxed vibe, excellent equipment, and friendly and respectful members makes working out a highlight of my daily schedule.

First time we came around 11am on a Tuesday and it was super packed. They have a whole parking garage next to the gym and we had to park on the roof. The next time we went around almost 8pm and it was a LOT better, way less crowded. ---- There are multiple sections of the gym and with 2 indoor sections and a large outside section. I like the outside for better air flow. I'm short at only 5 feet tall so some of the machines do not accommodate my height for the full range of motion, like the hip abduction machine. ---- Overall: it's a pretty great gym, huge facility, my issues are that it gets reallyyyy crowded, and that not all of the machines allow for a full rom if you're shorter

Chris helped me turn all this around through not only improving my health, fitness, and physique--but through my attitude and ability to push through tough workouts and tough times in life. I cannot recommend my trainer Chris Keith enough. His private studios are INCREDIBLY CLEAN. Unlike regular gyms, the studios and equipment are cleaned regularly and the clients who share the space are all like-minded and keep the gym very very clean. Additionally, cleaning and maintenance crews come regularly to make sure the equipment is functioning perfectly and is pristine, disinfected, and sanitized. Chris has become more than a trainer to me. He is someone who pushes me to be my best self, motivates me to work hard for the sound mind and body I've always wanted, and he makes everything fun. Personal Training with Chris has changed my life and both he and the studios are worth every penny. As someone who isn't a "gym person", I've always felt comfortable because Chris is very personable and his other clients are friendly, welcoming, fun (and some are wildly hilarious...which always makes a great start to my mornings)! If you're looking to get fit, push yourself, and change your life for the better, I assure you there is no better trainer than Chris Keith. Everyone who works out with Chris knows each other and it feels like a family-vibe whenever you go with just amazing people around.
