From clouds to skulls, you can see the intricacy that is made for each piece. While I was exploring the shop, I noticed the skull design and knew I needed to have it in my collection. Since they didn't have my size available they offered to make one from scratch. After a week or two they called and it was ready for pickup. For a made-to-order piece it was under $100 and I'm so happy with it. I can't wait to wear it on a frequent basis.

Now I can wear it anytime I want. Second time I needed to get battery changed on my fossil watch. $10. It was done less than 10 minutes or so. So well worth it. They are so close to my house. I would hate to drive further out just to save a couple dollars. These are nice people and I have no idea how they stay in business. This is a small 30+ years family business that walking into it feels like walking into a piece of history in a small town. So go find some broken jewelry and see if they can fix it.

We were greeted and asked if we could be helped. My friend said she would like her ring cleaned. And after showing her ID and bringing her account up they took her ring and said it would be about an hour and a half. We walked around the store looking at all their gorgeous jewelry all displayed in glass cases with brilliant lights showing off their sparkle. I took a couple pictures of items I would love. Returned within an hour just to see if my friends ring was done. And it was. She was thrilled it was done and it was gorgeous. We walked outside and she showed me how amazing it is in the sun. I said hang on let me put my sunglasses on, and when she put her hand out in the sunshine. WHOA! Thank God I did put my sunglasses on cause it would have been like staring in to the sun! I don't mean to sound cliche but these folks are a diamonds...and not rough ones…read more I needed a same day ring appraisal for 3 rings for insurance purposes and I called 8 other local jewelers before finding Matt and Kaitlyn at the Diamond Room in Austin. It seems to be a common theme in the jewelry industry that there's a traveling appraiser that visits each jeweler only once every month or two so it's difficult to get a same day appointment. The Diamond Room gave me a same day appointment and excellent service in their beautiful and private Austin location. But I have to write this review because they went way beyond what I expected. They gave an excellent appraisal of course but also inspected, cleaned and polished my rings. The Crown Jewel is that they use appraisal software that hooks into the top rated jewelry insurance company and my appraisals were automatically connected and within 24 hours my application for a policy was accepted and my jewelry insured. I had already shopped around and the price I was offered was fantastic. And the best part...wait for it...is that I never have to get appraisals every few years. Now that my jewelry is described and documented in the system the appraisals are automatically updated annually. With the price of gold doing crazy things...this is huge...and it saves me a lot of time, effort and money. I'd say that it will actually pay for itself from this day forward. After we were engaged I custom created his wedding band to commemorate his grandfather who had passed away and he wanted his old wedding ring. I cannot believe that Marigold - Gateway to India was on S. Lamar when I lived on S. Lamar. Walking into the shop felt like being transported to Bangalore or Rajasthan, India. Marigold is rooted in vibrant color, texture, and uniquely Indian pieces. The overhead draped colorful cloth added to the ambience. The store offers a curated selection of Indian clothing, jewelry, accessories, and gifts. The quality and variety of the merchandise was immediately noticeable.
