As a former New Yorker, I can honestly say that Antonio's Pizzaria is the most authentic pizza and pasta around!

Not a day goes by that I don't think about eating here…read more I am currently trying to make my way through the whole United States (aka the pizza menu). I love that you order by "state" and that the combinations are SO unique. Such a fun idea for pizzeria! I have to admit, I wasn't sure I would like most of the things on the menu, as I can be quite picky about pizza. However, after just ONE time dining here, I would trust any item the chef puts on the menu. The flavors are just spectacular, the cheese is CHEESING, and I really love that everything is made to order. Yes, this means there's a wait on food, but trust me it's worth it. Excellent prices too! If I was looking for absolute perfection in a restaurant, I would want the ambience here to be more reflective of the "eclectic" dining options. The inside is a bit bland and sterile. However, this means nothing at all to me because the food is MAGNIFICENT. Will be back ASAP!

I'm torn on this one. 3-4 stars depending on the day. I went 3 because it is tasty pizza with lots…read moreof toppings and reasonable prices. Consistent. Their traditional pie has a thin crust which is not my favorite but it's pretty good. The first time I had pepperoni and a friend brought it over. I was pleasantly surprised because I'm picky on my pizza. We went back and they were so busy. The wait was about 25 mins but the staff was hustling. They really need a busser to help with the tables. We got the DC meatball and it was fine. Average. Good but nothing to write home about.

Inside is bigger than you'd expect. It's a long and narrow restaurant. You order at the counter. Options for pizza are either 10 inch personal or the next six up is something like 16 inches. Huge jump in size. After ordering you seat yourself. We had a bit of a wait. Then they holler your name for you to walk up and get it. We ate all our pizza so it was good. But as I said - not great. I have had some excellent pizza places down here. This was probably my least favorite. I would not eschew it but also would not go out of my way to get it again.

Brooklyn Pizzeria has been a mainstay of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for as long as I can remember,…read moregoing back to the days when everyone went to Hardy Court Cinema then walked a few doors down to get pizza. They are the kind of place that has been doing it right for decades. Brooklyn makes New York style pizza, meaning the crust is thin and the pizzas are quite large and flat. Think John Travolta folding a large piece to eat while walking down the street. They also do oven-baked sandwiches, garlic knots, salads, and more. What I love about their pizza is how well they have perfected the process. Their crust is thin but not crunchy, and has just the right amount of chew that make it more filling. Their sauce is the perfect balance between sweet and savory, which I enjoyed. They don't pile up a lot of cheese or toppings so that it cooks evenly and makes for a much more portable and easier to eat pizza. One thing I noticed this last visit was I could pick up a slice from the pan, just a couple minutes after it came from the oven, and none of the toppings slid off - even while holding it vertical for a couple of seconds to transfer to my plate. Try that at other places and you'll likely end up with a mess. The inside of this place still looks like 1980-something with old NY-inspired artwork, simple booth seats, and metal chairs. It is NOT fancy at all, which might turn some people away. It kind of reminds me of some place you might see a movie cop stop by the get some pizza while walking the beat in NYC.

A locally-owned gem with Southern hospitality and delicious Italian food…read more Having been a fan of this restaurant a few years back, I was excited to try it again after recently moving back to the area. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to visit on a Sunday (they're closed!), I finally made it on a Tuesday evening. I was promptly greeted and seated by the friendly host right as they opened at 5 p.m. Our waitress was welcoming and took our appetizer order right after our drinks. We were debating between the mozzarella sticks and calamari, and she recommended the trio, which included both, plus fried zucchini - a great suggestion! Soon after our appetizer arrived, the owner and chef came to our table to introduce himself and check on our food. It was a nice, personal touch that you don't see very often. While the service was a little on the slower side, it was clear that the small but mighty staff was attentive and making their rounds to all the tables. For our main course, we ordered the chicken parmesan, which was a generous portion, easily shareable for two, and came with a side salad. It was yummy. This restaurant has a certain charm with its combination of Southern hospitality and Italian cuisine. I would recommend it based on my experience. They also have some weekly specials (unsure for how long) : -Wednesday Family Night: Large 3-topping pizza for $11.99 -Thursday Date Night: The $5 corkage fee for BYOB is waived, and they offer a "share a bowl" upgrade for $5.99 (usually $9.99), which gives you two servings of protein instead of one. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I'm happy to recommend.
