    3 item combo.

Took my mom to the stores around Herndon and Willow, we worked up an appetite and settled for Mexican. Wasn't sure what to expect. We ordered at the counter and then chose a table to sit at. They then brought out complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is amazing here! I can rarely eat the table salsa because I'm sensitive to spice but this one was super mild and so flavorful! Hot, fresh chips to boot. I was satisfied with just that. The meals soon came out and my very picky mother was impressed, she said if the beans and rice are good then they know what they're doing. She enjoyed that and her taco/burrito combo. My fajita bowl was HUGE. Big portions of protein and good flavor- not too salty or greasy. Service was good as well. No complaints, would definitely stop by again!

Very nice Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating. Our food was delicious, the enchiladas were a hit. And their salsa is just perfect, not too spicy, not too mild. Only giving them 4 stars as one of our forks was dirty. But our waitress was very kind and got us a new one right away!!

I liked the low-key atmosphere of the restaurant. I patronize the full-service Antonio's Restaurant in River Park and like it. The food at the Mex-Express is also good. Some things are different. You grab your own drinks and refills. You purchase chips and salsa separately. But that's ok. You are not expected to tip. And the food seems to be a little less expensive. The staff is very friendly. They hustled to deliver the food and then clean up the tables. I ordered a chile relleno. The egg mixture was well-done. There was lots of cheese. I loved the green sauce. But the chile was very small. But still very good. As I had never had a sope, I ordered one. It looked pretty. And the toppings were tasty. But the bottom was like 3 corn tortillas fried together in a very hard, teeth-cleaning pack. Not good at all. I would not order one there again. It's a great place to bring families. More affordable than most restaurants. More enjoyable than fast foods that seem to be sooooooo expensive these days. I would return for another chile relleno.

This updated review is unfortunate. I've gotten family trays from here four or five times in the past few months, and they've been good...until now. I got home with a tray of tacos and found that the tortillas were so tough and stale that they were impossible to bite through. I tried crisping one up in the oven, and that didn't help. They were so bad that, if this were the first time getting them, I'd never return. There were no salsas for the tacos this time either. It'll be a while before I return.

Place was great! Went to try them out for a late lunch/ early dinner! Got the chile verde burrito and a combination plate!! Salsa had a little too much cumin but otherwise was ok. The chile verde burrito was humongous and very good! The combination plate had relleno with verde sauce, carnitas taco, cheese enchilada and came with rice and beans. Everything was great but the rice could use a bit more flavor but otherwise still good. Great place, friendly service and huge portions! Definitely recommend.

Pretty surprised by this little place! It's an order-then sit kind of place and it's got some traditional Mexican dishes and the typical Mexican American combo plates too. Which honestly was exactly what I have been wanting so I had to go that route. What blew me away was the service, there was a gal at the register that was just the most genuinely kind server I have had in a while. She took our orders and ran our food out when we it was ready...and it seemed like she was doing that for everyone! Even when it got super busy and there was a line to the door that scared off a couple customers! She was still doing her thing with a kind attitude and a smile on her face. She did get some help when the line got super busy, and even they were providing great service at a busy time. As for the food, it's pretty typical California Mexican American food. Like, it's not super traditional, but it's quick Mexican and it does a good job at being that! I LOVED my enchilada, it reminded me of a restaurant I used to go to when I was younger, and the same with the rice and beans. My goddaughter got a heaping bowl of menudo, which she said was "spicy" but I didn't think it was. They serve with tortillas, lemons, and a container with cilantro and onion. My cousin got a side order of the Chile relleno and that was a pretty large side order. All the food was hot and came out pretty quick. All of that with a drink was $40. Not bad at all! Now that I know it's here, I may be back, because I did enjoy the enchilada. Especially since the service is the best service I've had in a long time. Keep it up Antonio's!

I was visiting family, and I must say I was presently surprised. The food was so authentic and good! The carne asada was seasoned so so good, homemade tortillas were so soft, however the burrito didn't fall apart. Next time up in central Cali, definitely will make a stop in.

If you are looking for a quick spot to grab some great Mexican food, then look no further than this place. You go up to the counter to place your order for dine in or take out. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. My husband and I grabbed some dinner here tonight. It has a smaller menu than their full scale restaurant but still has something for everyone. We were at our table no more than about 5 minutes before our order arrived nice and hot! I love their Albondigas. If you have never this soup, you need to! Tender meatballs with a chili tomato based broth with carrots, potatoes and two type of squash. Just add a squeeze of lemon along with s side of either rice or beans and flour or corn tortillas and you are in for treat! So nice on a cold night and just hits the spot! My husband decided to go with the Nacho Grande with grilled chicken. That is a delicious platter of nachos with beans, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole and meat of your choice. It's listed under the appetizers but definitely qualifies as a dinner choice. Definitely check them out!

With all my visits, I have never tried one of their breakfast burritos. I ordered a Machaca breakfast burrito and this baddie was huge. Fully loaded with eggs, cheese, and tons of machaca. Machaca is fried shredded beef mixed with onions and peppers and one of my favorite mexican breakfast dishes. Pair this burrito with their Taco Truck verde salsa or their Sunset Salsa, a medium salsa, and you'll be in beefy heaven. We went about 6 PM so not sure if going to a different time would've made a difference. The service was pretty good. There was only two people working. The gal that helped us didn't know how to add my points to their point system and had some issues with the register, she was OK. My wife has the chicken tacos I had the asada. We both left Mexican food, and we both feel that we are very fair when it comes to the food value and the taste. As far as the taste, the meat tacos were a little rough and gum like, probably from sitting out too long. The chicken tacos actually fell apart as my wife was eating them, and the chicken was very, very overcooked so again, probably sitting too long inside the burner. They do not have the right ABC license so you can't drink alcohol and eat hair even though you're sitting inside a liquor store. Overall an okay place, there's so many selections of Mexican food in Clovis, this one was so so.

Now back to the review... I've been here many times now, with my last visit topping them all. The tacos here are amazing and the bar staff is extremely friendly. This time around, I literally ordered every single taco they sell including their rolled taco and... they're all delicious! My fave out of the bunch are the TJ tacos. Small tacos on a four tortillas loaded with carne asada and a mountain of guac! These immediately remind of my days living in San Diego and head to Tijuana for tacos and cheap beers. Their queso taco and red taco are a close second, but honestly I loved them! If you haven't been since 2020; they've redone the bar area and it looks great. A modern mix of Mexico architecture with a touch of Tatooine from Star Wars. The drinks are solid and like I said, if you can sit at the bar and eat, do it! Ordered my food and went to find a seat inside. I noticed the inside wasn't clean much, it was spilled food on the floor & as much empty tables that were available inside the tables were not wiped. I sat outside to avoid having to wipe the table or step on food. Finding a table outside I noticed 3 tables that were full of food/trash. Their condiments table area could've been more cleaned. I noticed the small cups to put sauces were dirty, I had to pick through to find a clean container for my sauces. The lid of the storage for the condiments itself was broken and the area wasn't attended to enough. Sauces were very low & overall messy. While trying to pour my sauces in a very very small container I had to hold the broken lid and swat off flies. That's a lot of work for my green sauce. Our food came out quickly with our drinks. I ordered the 3 street chicken tacos, for my drink I ordered the Guavarita. My friend ordered 3 street chicken & asada tacos & the Mango chilli drink. We both enjoyed the street tacos & both drinks were delicious. This is my second time coming to this location. My first visit was at night. They had a live dj, the place was packed but overall clean and attended to. Overall in the future I may just ordered my food to go if I'm in the area. The food is good it's just the upkeep of keeping areas clean that puts me off from sitting and enjoying my food.
