Antonios has a plentiful variety of meats and deli meats. The brands are excellent. The food they prepare in the Deli are delicious. I have requested special cuts, and they do it for me, while I wait. I have used them for catering. They always come through for me. read more

As a customer for more than 20 years , especially for holiday meals , I have seen many changes over time especially in quality , then came the staffing , and now the service . So I'll keep it simple , ordered in a week in advance : 2 four lb legs of lamb butterflied . Received TWO YEA TWO 10 lb BONE IN leg ! Now if you know anything about lamb 10 lbs piece of lamb is MUTTON , It's tougher than all out , and you always get " It's how you cook it " Which is a bunch of crap ! , Do you or would you think they would call you and ask if this was acceptable !? And how in the hell do you get from 2 four pounders to 20 POUNDS !!! I'd give them zero stars if I could. Lost a customer that's for sure . read more

I've been going here for almost 25 years. I live in Hazel Park and it's well worth the trip. The meats are always fresh, selection is great, and the prices can't be beat IMO. I always receive great service and the staff have made me feel like family. Especially the owner Tony who we've grown very close with over these many years. Unfortunately in the last few years, I've come to know he's had health issues. When I went in today, I found out he had passed away. I felt absolutely horrible. I mentioned to Frank to please pass on my condolences to his family. What a wonderful man, business owner and friend. I only buy my family's meat from Antonio's, now with their new hours I can go there everyday if needed. Their Garlic dip is so good my best friend ask for it every time I go to visit her in Traverse City. This place is an absolute gem to have near my home. read more

This store is really nice. It as a very Italian rustic feel it. They sell liquor which is definitely a thumbs up if you are a drinker. I personally like to shop and get the best deals around and I feel Antonio's is pricey. I can find comparable food/produce/poultry at lower prices at Agrusa down the street or even Costco. Another big thumbs down is the customer service (aka the cashiers). They are extremely rude and very condescending. The last time I was there, I was checking out some groceries and the cashier was on the phone yelling at someone. I do not shop here unless its the last resport. read more

My wife brought home some salads from here the other day. They were the same orzo and three-bean salads that I wrote about before - pretty good if not outstanding. However, the hummus is quite good and the garlic sauce (the skordalia type made from mashed potatoes, yogurt and garlic) was terrific. They have beautiful and fresh ricotta from Windsor. They also have perfect prosciutto and know how to correctly slice it.

Being half-Italian, sometimes our family joneses for some Italian meats, breads, wine, etc. Discovered Antonio's about 13 years ago when I worked at Dequindre and 17 Mile. It may be hole-in-the-wall-ish and claustrophobic (the aisles are REALLY narrow) but really, we go there for the deli. The guy behind the counter (can't remember his name) is always friendly and funny. VERY Italian, he is! Always will let you sample lunch meat before you buy (not that I abuse that!). The quality of the deli meats is very good. We also go for the olives and pickled stuff at the front of the store. I don't do wine, so I can't honestly say whether they have a good collection or not. Like another Yelper mentioned, I too had an awkward experience where one of the bosses screamed at one of the employees, in full view and ear shot of customers. Not cool! But other than that, never had a cross word with anyone who works there, never got any food home and didn't like it. But they don't get five stars because I pretty much just do the deli, produce, pickles and non-perishables. It would be unfair of me to review any other part of the store! read more

Excellent meats, salads, olives and so much more! Try their fresh baked baguettes on top of the meat counter, bet you will eat the whole loaf in one sitting and they are perfect for making submarine sandwiches! Staff is cheerful and so friendly. read more

This is the best market if you're looking for a place to run in and they'll have most everything. I've been shopping here for about six years. It's perfect. You rarely have to go to the huge grocery stores. Everyone is helpful, and really nice. I'll be a customer for a long time. read more

My family has been coming here for over 25 years and the great meat, friendly service, and fair prices have remained constant. Counter staff is the best. They love what they do and seem like one big family... laughing, smiling, even sharing recipes with wanna be cooks like me. Ask Richard for his shawarma and fattoush recipes, you won't regret it. Best Italian lunch meat and fantastic kabobs, beef tenderloin, and fresh bread. Don't judge this book by its cover. read more

One of the nicer Italian groceries in Metro Detroit. A huge selection of meats -- sausages, cutlets, chops, fillets, poultry, fish. You can even buy good old-fashioned baccala there. The produce is always fresh and delicious. They have a huge selection of pastas and pasta sauces, olives, olive oil, cheeses. You know by the smell of the place as soon as you walk in that this is the real thing. Bonus: They're next door to Mannino's bakery, where you find a great selection of breads and pastries. read more

Great great great place to buy choice deli items. feel comfortable buying anything from their meat or deli. all the stuff is good. and i agree with james on the cheese and wine sausages. you cant find these anywhere else. they are seriously the best sausages anywhere. ever. get some mortadella from the deli too (the one with pistachio in it) mmm. and dont forget the proschuto (or however you spell it) good stuff. then stop by maninos right next door and grab some cannoli's :) read more

Just went to Antonio's market at 17 and Ryan in Sterling Heights. As always, there is hardly any counter help so I left and went to Agrusa's at 18 and Dequindre. Antonio's employees said that if they say anything to the owner, he tells them it is their fault for not working hard enough. I say if that is how he treats his hard-working staff, I will spend my money elsewhere. What a nasty person! Great help and doesn't even care. read more

Poor Customer Service! I did what they asked and called ahead of time to order my hamburger, which I order 20 pounds at a time, and ask them to wrap it in 1/2 pound bags, since it is just me. The last time I was there they pretty much asked me not to come back! Said that I wasted their time by asking them to wrap my order that way. Will never go back there, they apparently are making enough money, that they do not want mine anymore, and I would venture to say, they probably do not want yours! Don't waste your time or money in this place, they most certainly do not care about offending customers. read more

James really hit the nail on the head by saying this place is dark. Oddly dark. Like I'm afraid I'm going to get mugged while walking through the isles dark. Can't they turn on one or two more lights? They charge enough for their meats and cheese, I would think they would be able to afford it! I will say that for the extra amount it costs, the quality is definitely there and a potential mugging doesn't seem so bad when I begin to chow down. I head here for meats, cheeses, olives and peppers, then next door for bread and dessert. The results are bellissimo. read more

Such good food and wonderful people! Went in for a simple sandwich and was delighted to find out I could choose from fresh bread, specialty lunch meats, and fresh vegetables and condiments. I came out with an amazing sandwich and my groceries for the week. read more
