A friend of mine found Nep-Thai on Yelp and made an appointment since it was walking distance from our Air BnB. She came back raving about her massage with Bikash so I decided I would go see him as well. I am from the US and did not have phone service in Portugal, and had already checked out of my Air BnB for the day, so I decided to just head there to see if I could get on their schedule. I was hauling all my luggage as my flight was later that evening and when I got there, much to my surprise, Bikash was extremely accommodating and was able to fit me in on the spot! I had never had Thai massage before, and it was definitely outside of the realm of what I normally find in the US for massage, but it was the best massage of my life. I really loved the unique techniques of the Thai massage, moving my body in different ways, stretching and compressing. This was really kind of a spiritual experience for me and I felt like not only was my body in much better condition when I left, but I felt spiritually more open and centered as well. I will go back here next time I visit Lisbon, hands down! Very highly recommended! This is not a typical Swedish back massage that you would find in a traditional spa. She was so fast and sharp and my nails looked just perfect. It was quite challenging cause my nails were pretty short. Epsom salt increases the density of water, so you'll float without drowning. Supposedly the lack of outside stimuli will allow you to totally relax. Moreover, your muscles will be relaxed in the quasi weightlessness. When I found that this place costs almost half of similar places in U.S. I figure it's a nice item to add on my agenda. The spa has only two floating rooms, so be sure to make reservations ahead of time. They also offer massages and stuff. Staff is very nice, both when I called for reservation and when I got there. We were given slippers and tea as we checked in, then led into our rooms. The dimly lit room has the space pod in the center, and a shower in the corner. After shower you can get into the pod. The controls for light and music are located near your feet. Earplugs and towels are provided. Be very careful not to get any water into your eyes and mouth - not pleasant at all!! If you have done meditation or yoga, you definitely will have a easier time quieting your mind, and not going crazy about having nothing to do for 45 mins. It's an interesting experience to be just floating, though I didn't relax as much as I expected. The problem is: breathing. You don't usually hear your own breathing. But try covering your ears with your hands and breath. No matter how lightly you breath, there's noise of air moving through. If you breath very shallowly you can almost be totally quiet, but then it doesn't help you relax - long, deep breaths do, but then they are LOUD. i didn't quite figure out this part, and I would have enjoyed the float a lot more. Slowly the light is turned on, to let you know it's time to climb out of the tub. Afterwards, we were led to the relaxation room, where we could sit back and enjoy some tea.

I have been going to Lisbon Acupuncture once to twice a week for the last two months. I came to…read moreHayley's office with several chronic ailments: hard to control asthma for the previous nine months, hormonal issues, irregular heart rhythm, and also some--or quite a lot--of anxiety. Two weeks after the first treatments, my asthma--for which I had been using control and rescue inhalers every day--had improved dramatically! And after four weeks of acupuncture, I stopped using my inhalers for the first time in months, which I wanted to do! However, on medical advice, I decided to use them again, and my asthma worsened dramatically. Hayley and I worked together to get me off the inhalers again, as that was my wish, and today, after a couple of acupuncture treatments and some ear acupressure, I'm breathing so much better and I'm finally off the inhalers once more. In terms of my uterine fibroids and hormonal issues, my progress has been slower. However, acupuncture has directly helped with my heavy menstrual cramps and periods. My improvement is also noticeable in terms of my arrhythmia and anxiety; I am back to sleeping well and soundly. In general, I feel so much better! Hayley is a highly attentive and responsive practitioner. She also has a very soft touch, gives great advice when you ask her, and is knowledgeable in other health practices besides acupuncture, such as aromatherapy and craniosacral massage, to name a few.
