Tropical smoothie
John M.

Hands down the best smoothie I've ever had! It's packed with fresh fruit you can literally eat with a fork and blended into the creamiest, dreamiest drink. Every sip tasted super fresh and perfectly balanced. The only downside is the tricky parking situation--but honestly, it's so worth it for this delicious experience!

Very fresh and well priced plates. I ordered the mole enchiladas. Two cheese and two chicken. They also have smoothies which are tasty.

SUPER CUTE SPOT!! The staff was super friendly too which is always a major selling point for me! Plenty of seating for small groups! It's in the heart of Santee Alley area too! Very clean and everything is new inside! The food was LEGIT!! Very authentic! A little slice of Mexico! Street parking or lot parking in the area

Very yummy I ordered a sandwich and it was super good. The mole was also yummy and service was good. And the place is very aesthetic and cool. Also the agua naturales are SOSOSO goood.

Me encanta la comida de este lugar, el alimento siempre está muy bien servido y el servicio es muy rápido. Les recomendó la Cemita de Milanesa.

Don't bother explaining to Jessica that you are a vegan and don't eat dairy or meat simply say veggie burrito like normal people do...

Friendly, clean, fast, reliable, dedicated to tasty quality service. Beware the salsa Verde will blind you and the race childhood memories. The veggie burrito processed chunks of fresh avocado.

They have tacos to quesadillas to burritos Molitas and other stuff like tortas

This is a spot you must try honestly it's amazing I love it to the quesadillas to the hotdogs OMG. You will have food coma for days. The owner and his staff are very friendly. This is a casual please not a high-end restaurant or any of the store it's a simple shoes and a nice white tee and some jeans is also good

Forget Grand Central Market and their $10 burritos! Awesome tacos, burritos, tortas, huaraches, chilaquiles, agua frescas, and friendly smiles at half the price of the Market. This is our new go to place for a quick lunch, and to catch up on "our stories" that are always playing on the tv.

Long story short, I liked the food overall and their price is very reasonable prices.. but I wouldn't order again after I chewed on and found a stapler pin on my chicken salad ..... I'm scared to eat rest of my salad and other chicken dishes that we ordered... I am going to throw them away just to be safe...

Al pastor wet burrito. (As you can see they didn't add the avocado)

Ahhhh so freaking good! I haven't had an açaí bowl in quite some time.. at least 5 years or so, but…read moreRoots & Rye has just reinvigorated my love for them and i'm craving the next one already. I was feeling something healthy-ish and refreshing for dinner this past week, and randomly decided on an açaí bowl. It was super clean upon walking in and the employee who helped me out was so friendly when I told her it was my first time here. They let you sample the bases, and my favorites were the coconut/matcha/blue majik - and ofc chia pudding and overnight oats! You can choose between their plethora of unlimited high-quality options - they have so many types of granola, seeds, nuts, superfoods, nut butters, powders, sweeteners, and really fresh fruit. They're very generous with their toppings and you can ask for things on the side as well. This location is located in a pretty prime but small plaza that has a couple of other solid eateries in addition to a few but clean outdoor tables. We decided to eat outdoors and it was honestly the perfect way to end the night after gymming. Can't wait to be back!

The customer service was amazing, and the 2 young lady's who helped us were very kind and helpful. I wasn't sure what to get, and she recommended the Blue Magic smoothie. I wanted something fresh and fruity, so she suggested adding strawberries, and it was the perfect choice! I love that they offer unlimited toppings definitely a steal! My daughter ended up getting a bowl, which was perfectly presented my total came out to $21 before tip. Parking wasn't too difficult either since they have a parking lot, which was a huge plus. The ambiance was beautiful and made the whole experience feel so welcoming. Thank you, Roots & Rye, for making my daughter's experience so special! We'll definitely be back.

Everything was fresh, good portions and most importantly actually flavorful. The Seoul Bowl was the healthier option and still had plenty of flavor. The Po Boy sandwich was my fav.. not exactly "health food" but not overly heavy either. Just the right balance. I had never tried pea protein shrimp before so I was a little skeptical but it was surprisingly delicious and worked really well in the sandwich. We both like our food spicy and they were great about customizing it for us. They added jalapeños to my sandwich and gave us spicy mayo on the side which pretty much made the meal perfect for our taste. The grilled organic tempeh was the only thing I personally found a little bland but my wife really liked it so probably more of a preference thing than an issue with the dish. The Sunset Smoothie was thick, tasted great and was a very good portion. Yes, prices are definitely on the higher side but unlike some other places in the area where you pay premium prices and leave wondering why, here the portions and especially the quality made it worth it. We would definitely come back.

The pulp of the persimmon was amazing and my favorite part of the actual fruit so it was a great taste for me. The injeolmi mochi latte was fun as you use the cream to submerge the mochi and get a good, flavorful bite. The injelomi taste was strong and nutty but adding espresso was +$1. There is a parking lot in the back! The inside is nice and spacious with a few outlets here and there for people working. The service was good, nothing crazy :)

Their drinks were very generously portioned, and the server was kind enough to give us proper instructions on how to enjoy it. If you got a mochi drink, you're encouraged to dip the mochi in the cream top and enjoy. I obliged and dunked the mochi into the mugwort cream, it was surprisingly good! The mochi itself didn't have great texture but the nutty flavour combined with the cream top was tasty. The drink itself was also pretty good, the mugwort cream was earthy and nutty, it tasted like matcha and black sesame mixed together. It's definitely more of a dessert than drink with how creamy it is, I'm glad I got the espresso shot to cut through the sweetness. The black sesame cream latte was delicious as well! The black sesame had such deep nutty flavour and paired well with the fresh tasting milk. There are a lot of seating available and it looks like a great place to work. All the white walls and how the seats are arranged is a bit sterile for my taste, but if you're looking for a tasty cream drink definitely stop by.
