This is a newly built hotel with modern clean rooms. Service is top notch and there is decent a decent free breakfast buffet option. Except for the coffee, it is barely drinkable and you are trapped as there are no coffee shops in the thriving metropolis that is Goliad. My advice is to spring the few extra $ to stay here.

Hotel should mention this online under the room detail as I didn't know about it. Free internet was good but the instruction given was not correct. First, you have to connect to the hotel SSID. After that it will open up a new window where you enter user ID and password that was given to you with room key. Overall, room definitely needs update and fix. TV remote didn't work, bathroom exhaust fan was loud and distracting, bathroom had a cheap $1 night lamp but had a broken lamp, and room lamps that supposed to have 2 bulbs only had 1 bulb! Also, there was no hand towel in the bathroom and had to go to the front desk to get it. Here is the MAIN point to keep in mind. There is an ACTIVE freight TRAIN that goes right through Jefferson. Yes, MULTIPLE times at NIGHT! it was definitely loud and very noticeable. Very disruptive specially at night when you are sleeping. Unfortunately, it is not just this hotel where you will hear it. What followed was one of the most shocking customer service experiences I've ever had. I spoke with Christine, the manager, who was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She barely let me speak, and essentially called me a liar. I wasn't angry -- I was just trying to explain the situation. Instead, I was treated with cruelty and total disregard. What makes this even more painful is that I'm dealing with serious personal circumstances -- we were there for our aunts funeral, my mother is battling cancer, and I have multiple health issue's myself. Why would I ever waste my time making something like this up? I called to protect other guests and give the hotel a chance to fix the issue. Instead, I was insulted, treated absolutely horrible, and ignored. If you value cleanliness, compassion, or even basic human decency, I strongly recommend you avoid this hotel. Bed bugs are a serious issue, and with all my health issues I have a huge job in front of me, and we don't have the money to hire professionals. I have already spent over $300 for this issue, poison, multiple bag seal containers, a steamer, ext. I had to go see my doctor because with my autoimmune disease this has caused an infection on my skin. However, the room was at least clean and the lady at the front desk was as cheerful as she could be under the horrible conditions. This by far is not a nice hotel. Next time I will definitely do my homework if I hadn't been in the area in less than a year.
