This was our first time eating here and it was REALLY good! We needed a quick breakfast before visiting my Mom and so glad we stopped in here. The place is big inside with a lot of tables and there is a ton of tables on a nice outdoor patio too. The service was great! They were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time we were there. They had cinnamon swirl pancakes with icing and they were fantastic. I also got their eggs and sausage which were very good. My wife got a side of biscuits n gravy which were good, but one was partially burnt. Their iced coffees were out (or not working) which was a bummer. However, overall, we had a great time and a really good meal. Cannot wait to get back here to eat again!!! read more

Antler's is a nice little pizza joint. We met my husband's family while we were in town and it was the perfect spot for catching up w/the relatives. Lots of space - indoor and outdoor seating, and a bar. We liked the ambiance. Pretty good menu selection - meat lovers pizza was tasty. It looks like they either do live music or karaoke, or both, which is a plus in my opinion. Not to mention a handful of TV's to keep you occupied while you wait for your party to arrive. The staff was friendly and always eager to refill the drinks. If we're back through this way, which I believe we will be, I'm definitely going to try the catfish basket. read more

About what you expect in an area where Applebee's would be considered big city fine dining. Simple menu of pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and some deep fried stuff. Double burger was huge. Catfish was nicely fried but too salty for my tastes. Based on the mediocre appearance of the pizza at our table I wasn't compelled to sample a piece. Does the job but I wouldn't go out of my way. 4 stars on the rural Missouri scale. read more

Cute, family-ish friendly tavern. Fairly friendly staff, waitresses a bit scatterbrained. Great selection of craft, non-alcoholic beverages, and a variety of wacky local cocktails. Lots of beers. So bad it was like a cartoon. Place is maybe 20% full, 3 other tables and a booth. We wait 20 minutes for service. 15 minutes after asking for our water and iced tea, waitress comes back to drop off ice water and a glass of tea and to ask for our order. Catfish basket and a prime rib sandwich, but our little bit of ice has melted in our glasses so please, bring some more ice. 15 minutes later the waitress comes back and says, "Sorry, were out of prime rib." No ice. So, I order a half pound cheeseburger with the works, and hey what about the ice? Now it gets stupid. We sat for 15 minutes to get ice for our warm water and tea. Then another 40 minutes for the food. During that time two other groups of folks came in to eat, the place is still mostly empty. The catfish was so overcooled it was mealy, and it was cold, So were her fries, cold. The hushpuppies were not just cold but nearly black from the fryer. How many times did they drop those puppies? We could smell the old burnt grease. My "half pound" burger was served on a huge, stale bun and the meat and cheese didn't cover even half of the bun. Maybe a third. Maybe. No more than 3" across. The single tomato slice wasn't much bigger than a quarter, same size as one of the friggen pickles. All fries cold. Everything sucked. We wait 15 more minutes to finally catch the waitress to tell her the food is horrible and we get told "Yea, I don't understand why they do that. Anything else?" I tell her that "We'll just leave, what's the bill?" 10 minutes later I walk to the register and tell them I need to pay my bill. Never took a bite from my burger, my girl and I ate half of one of the pieces of cold fish and a couple fries. I'm presented with a $12 bill, they are being nice. I pay the $12 and foolishly give the waitress a $5 tip. We leave and get better food from Subway. Subway is better than Antler and half the price. And Subway sucks. That's how bad Antler is. Waited an hour for prime rib and a baked potato. When it finally arrived it was all cold. The au jus must have come out of the refrigerator. The servers tried to smooth things over and do the best they could. read more

OK - this review is about one offering. We have eaten here several times and their pizza and burgers are excellent. This review is about what they call a Calzone. Ordered one, thinking that as good as their pizza is, how could they not make a great calzone....I ordered a basic pepperoni calzone thinking it would be up to a basic pizzaria quality calzone. Bottom line...it was sub-grade and was nothing more than a bit of sauce and pepperoni between a pizza crust which was cooked pannini-style with no cheese whatsoever. Thus, was flat, relatively tasteless and without the cheese was definately not a calzone....I have eaten calzones my entire life and never have been served one without riccota cheese and baked as a pizza and not a sandwich. It was so off, that I politely ate it, paid and left without mentioning my extreme dissapointment to the staff as it was clear that this standard offering of theirs is not a true calzone.... Very surprised that Antlers, given their other excellent food, would even offer such a poor-imitation of a Calzone. All they need is to review what constitutes a true basic calzone (ricotta cheese, protein and cooked in the pizza oven), and provide their patrons with this wonderful alternative to pizza. I would even pay a little more for their basic Calzone. Come on Antlers...really?? read more

The food is very good, which is fortunate since there aren't many (any?) other options in the area. The spinach & artichoke dip is exceptional. The burgers are thick and tasty, and the pizza is very good. They allowed our dogs on the outside deck, which has a nice view but is a bit loud due to the nearby highway. The service was good. The pizza is great - I get it every time I'm in Gainesville. They have outdoor seating in a quiet, rural setting. It's a great place to just hang out and talk. The Antler still allows smoking indoors, but besides that it is a great place to eat. It also has a clean motel and a liquor store. read more

Stopped in with out of state friends. The locals said we could eat outside with our 8# well trained dog. While waiting to order our meal, we observed a large group with several toddlers. The toddlers only clothing were heavy soggy pee & poop drooping diapers, very disgusting look & smell. These children were running through the aisles & screaming. So, we were surprised when the waitress came to our table and ask us to leave, because of our dog. We left immediately & will never return. How ironic that screaming, pee & poop stinking out of control kids are ok on the outside patio & and a well behaved dog is not welcome. read more

We were pleasantly surprised to see the motel we chose also had a place to eat and a store attached. We first visited the store and were pleased to meet the proprietor-Michael or Mike. A very friendly chap -we found him to be very hospitable. Considering we were going into the mountains nearby he offered his contact info "in case" we needed any help. "Wow". So we entered them there hills with confidence, knowing we had someone to call "in case". We purchased items for the room and later ate at their establishment. The pulled pork was excellent, as was the pizza and the prime rib sandwich. Plus we ate a fried pie and wanted more! We'd like more days to eat through the menu but we were only there for two nights. Their burgers were a favorite of my Mom till she passed. My only objection is they came with chips and not fries. Like the option of sitting on the outside deck. They do get local bar sitters, but not a problem. Probably the best burger in town. read more
