This is by far, the worst hotel I've ever had the displeasure of staying in. The place is old and filthy. I don't know when it was actually cleaned. I know it's been awhile. The manager is abrasive and clueless. The same price is assigned as the big hotel chains but none of the services. They don't offer any breakfast or even decent coffee. Just the room coffee and those coffee machines also need cleaning. The assumption is that you'll use the gas station down the way for breakfast. I would prefer a big hotel chain with breakfast and clean rooms. Thanks but no thanks. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. To say this business is unprofessional is an understatement. We had gotten stuck in town due to 1-80 shutdown, and this was the ONLY hotel that was claiming it had vacancies online. I booked a room, and had a confirmation from the hotel that my check in time was approved. We waiting outside of this business for about 2 hours, the sign on the door said closed, and nobody picked up the phone. We left to get food and came back, nothing had changed except a young boy answered the phone and told us that his mother, the owner, was not at the business. We saw a group of people standing in the hotel office and went inside. The lights were on, door left unlocked, and there were room keys scattered all over the front desk. We all sat inside the office and nobody had a clue what was going on. We knocked next door and the same little boy had come out claiming he was the manager at first, and told all of us to leave. He told me my reservation was "bullshit" and that I was a "fucking liar" and kept telling us to leave even though I kept showing him the reservation confirmation. This kid was probably 14?? He then admitted he was not the manger but his mother, the owner "left him in charge". Of a hotel??? Legalities of this anyone??? He continued to call us liars and telling us to leave so I called an officer to the location to help us out. The little boy then admitted his mother left her business abandoned to "play cards with friends" to the officer. It was less than ten degrees outside and we were going to have to camp out in our car freezing for the night. Luckily the officer made some calls for us and got us a warm place to sleep for the night. There were dozens of people waiting in the freezing cold for you to take care of your OWN business claiming it was OPEN and VACANT. Sort your priorities out. People left town back into the dangerous weather because you couldn't manage your business properly. What a poorly managed place. Don't waste your time here people. read more

Dirty, funky, no A/C. Part of somebody's old sandwich was kicked halfway under the bed and was covered with ants. There was blood on the toilet seat. The very nice woman at the front desk came and cleaned the toilet, but....NO CASH REFUNDS! Skip this spot and try the Best Western a little farther up the road. read more

Antler Motel - Antler Motel - Hotels Near Me - Kemmerer, Wyoming

Note: this review is based on a 15-year-old experience, so it may no longer be relevant. My parents and I stayed at Antler Motel during our first trip to Yellowstone in the summer of 1998. The three of us had flown to Salt Lake City and drove from there to Yellowstone and back. The original plan was to spend the night in Montpelier on our return trip, but we had to change our plans due to numerous road closures. All of us were extremely tired after driving for twelve hours straight, so we decided to stop at the nearest town and pick whatever lodging that was available. We passed a small town called Kemmerer, and Antler Motel was the first place that came up, so that was where we stayed. Finding a place to stay was quite a relief as it was already 2:45 a.m. The rate was pretty low - it was just below $30 a night if I remember correctly - so we figured it'd be a good deal. Big mistake. The first thing we noticed was that the room looked old and unclean. The restroom was even dirtier, and taking a shower there was a rather unpleasant experience. And don't even get me started on the toilet. The service was also sub-par. There were only enough beds for two people, so my parents went to the front desk to ask the hotel staff to bring in a third bed. They brought in the bed as requested, but only after a considerably long time. Granted, it was in the early morning, but letting people wait until 3:30 a.m. before they could go to bed is not exactly world-class service. I understand this was over 15 years ago, and it's entirely possible that the hotel has greatly improved since we stayed there. I certainly hope that's the case. -- TL;DR version -- Highs: Low nightly rates Lows: Dirty rooms; slow service Bottom line: Antler Motel may have very attractive rates, but the price reflects the quality of the rooms and service. Final verdict: 1.4 stars (rounded down to one) read more

They never answer the phone. I don't recommend ever going someplace where they don't answer the phone.

Nice guy at the front desk. Be sure to ask for a room in the building across the street from the main part of the motel.

The non smoking rooms are great, the staff upgraded my room for free, they were very friendly & kept the room clean. The wifi was very good & they let me & the guys from work use their grill during our stay. Other than the city itself being a bore this was a great stay read more

Okay & inexpensive. This a basic little old motel. The staff was willing to show us all the room options. We chose one of the 3 that have a/c. It's cool at night there so a/c's probably not very important. Our room was fairly clean - not spotless - and had a mini-fridge & microwave. There was a picnic table right outside the door where sat & had a glass of wine which was pleasant. Be aware that the office is only open from 9 am to 9 pm. read more

Basic motel, nice manager, clean but old. Showed us accommodations first. Bathroom clean and plenty of linens also. Very reasonable! Would stay again! read more

The people who run this are great and very helpful. They are remodeling and working very hard. They need to be supported by working people and tourist alike. read more

Nice place to stay. Front desk is friendly. Room have been redone, bathrooms are new. Inexpensive

If you have a choice, I would look somewhere else. Room smelled funny. No AC unit. It was hot in the room. (Summer Time) There was a ceiling fan, but it almost ripped out of the ceiling when turned on high. It also hit the curtains because it was too close to the windows. It was like a practical joke. But, do realize you are in Kemmerer, WY. There is just not that much to choose from. Make reservations when you come to this town. I learned my lesson. read more

This is for sure an old motel. We were one step above camping. We stayed (or should I say camped) at the Antler motel in middle of march. When my husband and I walked in the room I wanted to cry. My husband hurried back to the front desk for our money back and it had closed 20 minutes early. There are a few things that you pretty much know you should get for you money at any motel. Here is a list of what we got. 1. No central heat but a small loud plug in heater on the floor(that made it hard to sleep), didn't do the job we were cold, and in March in Wyoming it gets that way at night. 2. Curtains ripped and would not close all the way. Light from street shown in all night no blackout curtains. 3. No glasses to drink from but there was a ice bucket. Wonder if there was any ice to be found. 4. When we turned on the sink in the bathroom rusty water came out.Glad we had our own water bottles. Used that water for brushing of the teeth. 5.If you dared to take a shower you had to fill your hand with liquid soap from the sink and go back and forth until you had finished your shower. Small towels. OH the window in the bathroom had clear glass we had to hang a towel for privacy. 6. Night stand was dirty with cup marks. 7. Bed was a double. We said at desk we needed a double occupancy. No queen in this room.(when checking out we told the man at the front desk we said we asked for double occupancy. He said we didn't say we did. Then why did we get charged for double the night before?) Bed spread was old and faded, and I sneezed and coughed most of the night. Who knows when it had been either air out, cleaned or dusted last. 8.My office computer screen is bigger than the TV. It looks like it is run by some man that doesn't need much from life and doesn't think you should get it either. We checked out what some other motels in town were charging and looked at their rooms and Antler was in the $50 dollar range like the others( but the Best western way up the road). So money is what is important here. And guess what they had what a motel should have bar soup, heat ,queen beds etc. Antler motel needs to tell you what they have or don't have and let you make that choice. Buyer beware unless you like to camp! read more
