It is located right across the street from the historic courthouse that has been turned into a history museum. The Krazy Kricket was started by Lee Putnam and Susan Blenk who had a love of decorating and repurposing furniture. They started out selling items in a tent before graduating to a space in an antique store. In 2014 they were finally able to open their own store in the spot formerly occupied by the Appleseeds gift store. According to their website they carry mostly new gifts, a sprinkling of antiques, Ce-Ce Caldwell's  Natural Chalk + clay paint, Spartina, Mud Pie, Haute Baby and a variety of other brands." As soon as I walked into the store I could instantly see it was full of all of the things I love starting with the gorgeous flamingo chair. They had the line of Spartina Florida purses and totes that I adore. They had many beautiful home decor items, candles, funky jewelry, colorful scarfs, clothing, and cool bags. In the back of the store they have machinery that can custom embroider anything you want. You could literally pick up anything in this store and it would make the perfect gift for me. It's a good thing I don't live in Bartow because this store would be seriously damaging to my bank account. If you like girly things and you are in the downtown Bartow area you will definitely want to visit the Krazy Kricket.

Upon entering Southern Gentleman Antiques it became clear the owner definitely appreciates all that visit - after a gracious greeting and invitation to explore every area of the shop he also offered refreshments and made us aware of the public restroom which is rare these days and although I passed on the refreshments I did visit the extremely clean and well maintained restroom I can't say enough about the customer service here. we were encouraged to ask any questions on the merchandise and we were left to explore this beautiful shop at our leisure. Every square inch of this space is neatly organized, very clean and everything is easily accessible and well displayed. He even offered me a water while walking around. And this place has so much. It's like a giant treasure chest for adults. There are several rooms full, absolutely stocked full of goodies, and it does not look that roomy on the outside of the store. There are all kinds of old school knick knacks, a ton of really beautiful glassware and themed salt shakers. Of course, your pick of gorgeous and unique furniture, locally made prints of Lakeland and even antique shaving sets. As several people asked just in my one visit, this did used to be the location of "What's New" consignment boutique. But clearly, it is not there anymore because they moved locations. As most places, it's really hot in here so take a fan to enjoy your experience properly. The husband and wife team are very personable and comfortable with their customers. They can be somewhat hard to find but once they spot you they will welcome you and answer any questions you have. It was unfortunate to hear that due to the coronavirus, they may be going out of business. If they do, it will be a shame but if they don't, I hope people in the area (and those visiting) will stop and buy something! It broke my heart to leave this gorgeous leather push-pin sofa that was something you would see at Restoration Hardware, for $900! And I'm sure they would've negotiated! Unfortunately the owner was not able to reach the person selling the sofas but such a shame! Hopefully they are in business when I return in a few weeks! Support local everyone!

(I'm unsure of how many vendors are represented here.) I saw few antiques in the form of jewelry and furniture. There were lots of miscellaneous smaller antiques and vintage items. This flea market is also across from home depot. Next door to racetrack gas station. The surroundings is outdoor and sand / dirt when you walk around. It can get really hot and warm at times so prepare to wear sunscreen sunglasses and a hat and cool clothing. They have a few mexican trucks here serving tacos etc. I have also seen kettle corn as well. So this flea market also has indoor booths. I have seen fresh produce being sold here , vintage used items, incense sticks booth, Asian booth selling misc items from kids toys to garden gadgets etc. I have scored a precious moments figurine (used) for $1. I mostly tackle used items because they are cheap when you negotiate. I cannot say much on the food being sold here but they get busy.

Looked up local thrift shops and the flea market popped up.. To my surprise it has both indoor and outdoor vendors. They have a little bit of everything. Mostly used (it's a flea market) but some antique treasures, dishes, tools, etc... to appliances, and a pet stop with fish and birds! Honestly, if you're looking for something that you don't even know you're looking for, you might find it here. You know what they say, "one man's junk is another man's treaure". Sellers seem nice, they greet you as you walk by. If you get hungry, there's a sitting area with a few food trucks. I went at the end of the day so it wasn't filled with a lot of shoppers and some stands were even closed but it was a nice little walk around. Lots of parking available but the walk path for the outside stands is sandy so wear closed toe shoes.
