It is just a short walk to the historic Dundee depot museum. After being cheerfully greeted I was left to explore. As I looked around I was impressed with the artful arrangement and staging of furniture, art, and household goods throughout several rooms. Some of my favorite finds were the many vintage Christmas decorations, especially the sweet deer, beautiful furniture, a wreath made out of succulents and flower pots, and the adorable rabbit ornaments that adorned a tree. Prices ranged from just a few dollars to many hundreds. There is so much to see here that brings back memories. Find a one of a kind gift or that perfect piece to finish a room.

Upon entering Southern Gentleman Antiques it became clear the owner definitely appreciates all that visit - after a gracious greeting and invitation to explore every area of the shop he also offered refreshments and made us aware of the public restroom which is rare these days and although I passed on the refreshments I did visit the extremely clean and well maintained restroom I can't say enough about the customer service here. we were encouraged to ask any questions on the merchandise and we were left to explore this beautiful shop at our leisure. Every square inch of this space is neatly organized, very clean and everything is easily accessible and well displayed. There are several rooms full, absolutely stocked full of goodies, and it does not look that roomy on the outside of the store. There are all kinds of old school knick knacks, a ton of really beautiful glassware and themed salt shakers. Of course, your pick of gorgeous and unique furniture, locally made prints of Lakeland and even antique shaving sets. As several people asked just in my one visit, this did used to be the location of "What's New" consignment boutique. But clearly, it is not there anymore because they moved locations. As most places, it's really hot in here so take a fan to enjoy your experience properly. The husband and wife team are very personable and comfortable with their customers. They can be somewhat hard to find but once they spot you they will welcome you and answer any questions you have. It was unfortunate to hear that due to the coronavirus, they may be going out of business. If they do, it will be a shame but if they don't, I hope people in the area (and those visiting) will stop and buy something! It broke my heart to leave this gorgeous leather push-pin sofa that was something you would see at Restoration Hardware, for $900! And I'm sure they would've negotiated! The hours posted were not exactly correct. We went by when it was supposed to be open, but it was not. We walked by a couple hours later and they were opening up. The owners were away today (7/21/19); the older gentleman (dealer) who replaced them was a sweetheart-- friendly & helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. (Truly a great guy:) There was vintage furniture here, including antique furniture (100 years or older). There were even some really nice primitive pieces, such as a butler's sideboard (see pic). The glass items sold here are beyond reproach-- so many quality glass pieces (such as Fenton) in mint condition. Lots of Roseville & Hull pottery as well. Impressive collection of glassware & pottery at fair prices! Lots of vintage silver jewelry here, along with some 10k, 12k, & 14k pieces. I saw an extensive coin collection, & many vintage dolls & toys, Disney collectibles, as well as camping cookware, vintage tools, vinyl & CD's, mid century glassware, clocks, & lighting. (I could go on & on:) As someone who has spent considerable time antiquing over the years, this is a shoppe I would visit quite often if I lived closer.
