Walked into Wonderland Thrift Shop, lots of random things in no particular grouping, carousels of small children's clothes and odds and ends. The ladies were busy but stopped to ask if I needed help. "Do you happen to have a hand mixer?" "Funny you should ask, something came in this morning", walking over to a box filled with random items and handing me a very nice stainless, Cuisinart one. She advised me to plug it in to make sure it worked and out I walked with a $5 mixer and a beautiful stoneware serving platter for a $1. Highly recommend this spot, you might get lucky too.

I follow this story on Instagram and I am addicted, pretty much every piece they post. The location is in cute Dover and the store is pretty large so I encourage you to go and look on every level, in every nook. I have gotten a few items from here and have never been disappointed. If you see something online they have and cannot get there immediately, just reach out to them and, if not already taken, they will hold one day for you to get there to see if it is what you want to purchase. I also have to say the prices are very reasonable. And, sometimes they do these 20% events - when they do, I try to go up even if I don't think I want or need anything. It is just a fun place to visit and imagine how something would fit into your space.

Unlike other antique stores, this one does not have any musty/dusty odor. It's very clean, well organized, and while the selection is large, it's not "cluttered". You can find everything from small collectable figurines, to china and crystal stemware, to large furniture. Everything for sale was in great quality. The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions - certainly one of the nicest employees I've ever met at an antique store. After browsing the isles, I found a set of green thumbprint goblets, wine glasses and sherbets - all 36 in perfect condition. After a quick call to the dealer, I was offered an even lower price and each glass was wrapped up for safe travel. Before heading there, double check the hours of operation because we were told it was the last day of the season for their store (November 12th). I can't wait to stop back on our next trip to Southern Maine to see what other great finds there are!
