What a great experience...from the phone call to inquire if he 'might' be able to help me w'an…read moreantique 'goose necked' floor lamp shade to how he had the absolute perfect shade for the lamp that I remember since childhood in the 50s it was a perfect day! Having worked for 30+ years in the Huntington area I knew of the LONG time store for shades just West of the intersection of #25 & #110 and actually found something that 'worked' but it was a bit too 'modern' for the style of this antique lamp. He did have some very lovely old fashioned shades, w'fringe & embroidery that were very beautiful but a bit too 'much' for my taste! Thinking I wasn't going to find the 'tailored' but 'old fashioned' look I wanted I purchased the shade from the well stocked place @ the top of #110. Since I had looked for other 'lamp shade' places here on Yelp & phoned 'Tomlin' before leaving home, and the man had been so helpful on the phone & it was on the way home I figured I might as well stop there also. I am so glad I did! Perfect shade for my lamp, 'old' looking but not 'boudoir-ish'! I had been unable to find an antique brass satin finish chain & fittings for a found on the curb on trash day 'Tiffany like' chandelier that I had looked high & low to match @ the 'usual' places w'no luck. I mentioned it & low & behold a few trips to the back & he came up w'all the parts I needed! One of the nicest & accommodating store owners I have EVER met! THANK YOU Sir! In this day of 'mass produced', while seemingly ever increasingly cost & uncaring store owners, Tomlin Lighting is a REAL find & a ONE stop store for ALL your lighting needs! Only bad part of day was I had to drive back to Huntington & explain to the first 'shade' shop owner why I needed to return his shade!

Cannot recommend Sundown more highly enough! First and foremost, they're a family business and…read morethat comes through with the friendly and attentive service no matter what you're shopping for. Our most recent visit was for a new set of skis, boots, and poles for my wife. Admittedly we were lured in by the Black Friday deals, and despite the store being a little bit crowded, Jonathan was extremely patient and helpful throughout the entire experience. We were on the fence between seasonal rentals, rent to own, or just outright purchasing, and Jonathan explain the math and available equipment for all the scenarios. We started off with an advanced boot fitting, complete with a 3-D foot scan, and then Jonathan whisked out a few different boot options (one for each foot) asking my wife to walk around in them for 5-10 mins each. After going through the exercise a few terms, she zeroed in on a nice pair of Nordicas. From there, we went to the skis, and they were running a great deal on brand new equipment from last season, so we bagged 40% off for Blizzard skis paired with Marker bindings, then grabbed a set of Leki poles to complete the set. Their prices are competitive to begin with, but they do price match in the off chance you find something cheaper that's in stock (same size, year, etc) elsewhere. From start to finish, it was a great experience, and we both learned a lot through all of it...Even got some great tips for layering so don't be surprised if we're back in a week or two for some new base layers! PS, and just as a heads up, they charge you a $50 fee upfront for the advanced boot fitting they do (3D foot scans, etc) but that is applied towards any boot purchase, or if you decide not to get boots, you can still walk away with a $50 gift card to the store to use towards something else, so no matter what, there's no loss. I presume they do that so people don't come in, spend a couple hours of an associate's time, and then not purchase anything, and it makes perfect sense.
