This is a true gem in Santa Fe's world of hospitality. There is so much to like here that it is very difficult to describe in a nutshell. The location is ideal, just 3 blocks from the Palace of the Governors, the center of old Santa Fe, yet it's sufficiently away from that area to practically eliminate road noise and produce a quiet, restful sleep. The inn is an adobe brick structure built before 1910. The interior walls are plaster, covered with rubbed beeswax, resulting in a very interesting, very smooth surface. Part of the original adobe construction in on display, behind glass. All doors are hand-carved in the motif fitting that particular room. Rooms contain unique, hand-carved furniture. Orchids are everywhere.
April, Elida, and Laine go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Cookies and various -ades (lemon/lime) are available in the kitchen area. Gourmet candies, various nuts, and a small, upscale assortment of bottled water and soft drinks await you in your room. Rooms have 3D HD TV, DVR, Blu-Ray players, and several internet apps.
Breakfast is wonderful. My Huevos Rancheros was the best I've ever had. Thank you, Elida! Coffee was very rich and flavorful, and not at all bitter. Fruit offered was at the peak of ripeness.
This inn is great for so many reasons, including touring the city, taking a 2nd honeymoon, or just pampering yourself for a weekend. We hope to be in Santa Fe again soon, and when that happens, we will beyond a doubt book our room here again. read more
