Today was my first visit to Anthony Vincent's Salon and the first thing I noticed was the beautiful and serene environment. Anthony and his staff are top notch professionals with a huge side of kindness. I felt like I was in heaven. Kristin, known as "T", colored and cut my hair to perfection. T is a beautiful person inside and out, and I loved that she absolutely heard me as I explained the texture of my hair and my issues with color. I loved the results! I will be back to see her again. Looks like a good place for nails, but I do not recommend for a blow out! My mother and I were in town for my father's funeral and wanted blowouts. The salon confirmed that they could take both of us at a certain time. When we arrived, we found out it would be just 1 woman doing both of us, so we felt rushed (didn't want to be late for the funeral!). I told the stylist that I have VERY long, thick hair and that I recommended doing the curls very tight and very hot so they'd last. I went first and by the time my mom was done, my hair had a slight wave. By the time we got to the funeral, my hair was straight. The stylist blamed it on my hair cut and said I didn't have enough layers. When I curl my hair it lasts a few days. I wouldn't recommend this salon for blowouts. I have been coming here for about 2 years and this salon was recommended by a friend who has been coming here for many (not sure the exact number) years. Tara colors my hair and does an excellent job. I often get many compliments on my natural-looking highlights (Thanks, Tara!). Raymond cuts my hair and does a great job. I like that he takes his time and not only blow dries my hair when he's done, but always offers to style it with hot rollers, curling iron, etc. I have seen other stylists also give great hair cuts. The salon has a very casual feel, you will not be "pampered" with wine as you may in other salons. The salon could use a little remodeling, the couches in the waiting area could use updating and each hair station is directly next to another which seems crowded. I have seen the salon packed on a Saturday and every station was being used. I think the salon does the best they can with the small space. read more

I met this salon (more specifically it's representatives) at a recent bridal show and I could not be more disgusted. They were offering free "mini makeovers" for the brides. I was seated in a chair and a woman started doing my makeup. I told her i was interested in airbrush, and she basically told me i didnt know what i was talking about air brush is a "horrible idea". When she finished my makeup, it didn't look good, it wasn't blended and my mascara was clumped. I moved on to the hair which I told them I was planning on getting an updo. The woman told me "i want to see you with side swept curls". I told her I wasn't interested in that because of the time of year for my wedding (august when it's hot and humid and I worry about being too sweaty or it being too humid for my hair). The woman told me "this is a free trial, if you want to see that you can pay for your real trial. This will look better anyway". I wasn't happy with how it looked, even if it was free. To make matters worse, when I finished getting my hair done a man who I believe is the owner told me I should get my makeup done by his "professional" (I had just had it done and made it clear my face looked like that because of his "professional"!!!). It wasn't until after I was done that I realized she was USING THE SAME BRUSHES ON EVERYONE! Mascara, eye liner, lip stuff, face stuff was all just reused on every person without being wiped down. This is at a bridal show with over 50 women getting these makeovers with the same brushes! So unhygienic and unprofessional. And while I understand these were "free mini makeovers" they were less than professional quality in every regard. read more

Mara is an amazing, gifted stylist. As someone who has curly/ very wavy/ cowlickie hair, I have searched endlessly (until now) for someone who can cut my type of hair- she's extraordinary! I live in Naples, Florida and travel to East Windsor, NJ ( how bizarre is that!) just to get my hair done by Mara!!!! But bottom line- the salon and Mara are worth it! OVERVIEW REVIEWSCame for my appointment on time. The stylist I was supposed to see just started a haircut. Her station all the way at the end of this fairly large place...never bothers to come to the front to inform me how long I'll have to wait, offer a place to sit (their sofas are turned away so you can't sit) or even acknowledge my existence other than asking if I need help when I walked in. Gave her a chance. Waited 10 more min...nothing...so I left. On top of that I observed that a jeep with the salon logo is parked in the only handicapped parking spot in front of the salon. Yes, it had an handicapped tag but if it's your business car and you park there the whole day that rubs me wrong. Not to mention the fact that even a person who's not handicapped would have great difficulty climbing into that jeep with the super large tires. If this was the only salon left on earth I guess I'll have to change my name to Rapunzel. I have been going to Anthony Vincent Salon for the post 6 years now. The quality of craftsmanship and skill that Ashley brings to the table is top notch. She is an excellent colorist and stylist and works with me every time to make sure my hair is cut the way that works best on my face and with my hair's nature. We've been slowly taking my hair lighter and I am completely in love with the color. I trust Ashley implicitly! As for the owner, Anthony is a sweetheart of a man who us always happy to offer a hug and a smile. read more

I went to Anthony Vincent to get a balyage/Ombre. I was recommended to Kristin who completely destroyed and ruined my healthy hair. Since it was Christmas eve and the salon closed while I was inside, I wasn't able to do much. I was told by Kristin that I need to have a hair cut soon too (I only opted for a balyage without a haircut). When I came back home and inspected my hair, they were completely fried!!!! The ombre seemed like a horrible job plus she charged me $250 plus (excluding the tip)!!! Moreover, the atmosphere in there is highly highly unprofessional. People were eating pizza and cookies while hair was flying everywhere. Cellphone personal calls were being attended, loud talking and hairdressers stepping out for a cigarette break while their client is on their seats! I do not recommend this salon to anyone! Save your money and time! Find a better salon! read more

I got my hair done a few years ago and the lady destroyed my hair. I asked for balayage and instead she created a dip dye look. It was nothing like I asked for. The owner was super nice and let me come back. She then re dyed it to what i originally had. It looked fine but the dye washed out after a few months leaving my hair fried. Waste of $200. read more

I discovered Anthony Vincent after I turned my hair green while attempting to colour it on my own. I walked in without an appointment and was placed into Salome's care. Aside from the colour disaster, I have very curly hair and was using a straightening iron to it daily at the highest temperature. This left my hair completely damaged. I left the salon with my colour corrected and a new anad healthy haircut. I have since moved to Boston but I will continue to go back to NJ just for Salome. I don't trust anyone working on my hair because most stylist do not know how to cut very curly hair. Although, Salome blows out my curls when she is done, I can deal with that. As soon as I wash it, the curls come right back. Salome is the best! read more

After struggling for years trying to find a hair stylist that I can trust not to chop off several inches of hair every time I visit, I finally visited Anthony Vincent Hair Salon and met Mara. I explained my concerns, as I've done with every other hairstylist I've gone to, and for a change, she actually listened and gave me a "hairless hair cut". Sounds weird but all it meant was that she would trim minimally what was necessary and not touch my long locks when it wasn't. I have pretty long hair and like to keep it that way and always feared going to the salon because I always left with far too much cut off. Now over a year later, I'm still coming to the salon to see Mara. We often change up my style and color but she never cuts more than necessary. She's great at matching the styles and colors I bring pictures of every time! A year of planning a wedding requires the right hair stylist as an accomplice. Love her! read more

After my 2nd visit to the salon, I can say that despite its convenience and flexible hours, I will not be returning. They do an okay job, but it is not the relaxing salon experience that I expect/want to have. The stylist is VERY friendly, but it feels very fake and she constantly said things like "oh my gosh, isn't this the best haircut you've ever had? omg, omg omg, i'm obsessed with this" which made it strange and uncomfortable when I wanted to tell her that I didn't like something. Also, she tried to charge me for a whole head of highlights when I only asked for a half head, and she told me she was going to give me a "couple of extra" in the back. The girl at the front desk did not make me pay for the whole head, but the entire experience turned me off. read more

Not sure where to start here - was a awful experience and I cannot say anything positive about Anthony Vincent Salon. As the old adage goes: when it starts bad, it ends bad. To start, my stylist, Fran, didn't even come to greet me until 20 minutes after my appointment time. I tried to look past this but things unfortunately just when downhill from there. When booking my appointment a week and a half earlier, the receptionist on the phone assured me that my haircut would be completely a scissors cut - and that Fran did great scissor cuts on men's hair. Great, I had thought at the time. To give context to the situation: Fran was apparently coloring another customer's hair simultaneously to attempting to cut mine. I assume this was the reason for the delay, and was also the reason that she would abruptly step away from helping me. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do with my hair but I expressed that I did *not* want a buzz cut, but instead wanted to trim and thin. Fran proceeds to buzz (and a number 2 at that) all sides and back. So much for the non-buzz cut and so much for the all scissor cut. I can't complain too much about the shampoo process, although it did feel a little rushed (no surprise with that, trying to help two customers). After finishing the shampoo I was told to go back and sit in her chair while she helped her other customer. After coming back to finish up my cut, the scissors finally came into play (combined with more buzzing, of course). After another 5 minutes or so Fran believes she has finished and proceeds to put product into my hair before (1) asking if I wanted any and (2) - the bigger issue - asking if everything was ok. I asked her to shorten the top more due to the fact that it looked like I had a bowl of hair sitting atop a buzzed side & back cut. Fran tells me that it is, in fact, as short as it can go. She proceeds to cut some more off my bangs, which did help slightly, and tried to even my sideburns which are still left uneven as I type this review. I'll be heading to Supercuts before this weekend is over to finish up the buzz cut. At this point there is nothing else to do with it. At least my hair grows fast, right? Head to Anthony Vincent's at your own risk. read more

The ventilation in this salon is horrible and you begin to cough as soon as you walk in. The cuts and color are just average. I would not return because I don't want to inhale those chemicals and I always feel rushed when I am there. read more

My mom and I went here for the 1st time this morning. Getting same day hair appointments was a huge win for us. Both Ashley and Maria were welcoming, courteous and highly professional. Both my mom and I have thick long hair so needless to say it took both the girls a bit to get the wash, blowout and styles done, but they showed great patience and skill to make us feel and look fantastic! We are from Atlanta originally, however, have close family and friends who live locally and will be sure to recommend your salon. Full Disclosure: I've been going to this salon for years, but my last appointment was beyond amazing! Fran did such a great job on my color, cut and highlights that people are saying that I've taken off 12 years overnight! Alyse is a Nail Goddess and probably the nicest person I've ever known. Nancy, who does all the waxing, makes you feel very comfortable and even RELAXED while she's taking your hair off. I can say that I would feel comfortable using any stylist there. Finally, the owner and the manager - Anthony and Dana - go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience in their establishment. This was the worst place I've ever been to for a salon. They deserve ZERO stars. I went with a friend for a mani/pedi. There was hair everywhere and the person who was sweeping half-assed her job and only swept large hair pieces. The hair was flying up everywhere - it was disgusting. The pedicurist was nice but easily distracted. She disappeared for about 5-10 min while my feet sat in the water. Then she asked if she could pick up her cell phone call and what am I supposed to say? No? This is a professional business - your phone shouldn't even be out on the floor with you. The massage is the best part and in comparison to other pedicures, it was very short. I was disappointed since I was looking forward to relaxing. I was told that the pedicure price is so expensive because it includes the massage. The manicurist was the worst. She ran out of the nail polish for my friend and so she couldn't do both mani/pedi in the same color as she wanted. When my friend came over to show me her nails, I noticed the sides of her nails weren't covered in any nail polish so I asked the manicurist to polish the sides as well so you can't see her nail. She tried to justify the fact that it was gel nail polish and can't get close to the sides or else it will peel off. Nonetheless, she went back and "fixed" the nails. Then, for my french manicure, she got a bunch of polish underneath my nail and when I asked her to clean it out she claimed she couldn't because, again, it would peel off the whole nail. I wish she would've cleaned the whole nail completely and started over. The entire time, the manicurist was distracted by her colleague (and owner) with personal drama between them and barely looked at me or the manicure she was performing. Instead, she had her eyes glued to her colleague across the room. Towards the end, I was super pissed when I asked her to fix some of my nails and she half-assed the job in fixing them. As a native New Yorker, i am accustomed to higher end salons, but I was reccomended to Anthony Vicent's Salon by my boyfriends sister. As a birthday gift my boyfriend decided to treat me to a cut and to try something new. I had never colored my hair before, and tried ombré. It was too extreme for me, but I returned to Anthony Vincent when my boyfriend was getting a quick haircut. I noticed Mara was cutting and colouring someones hair and by the care and attention she was giving to her client, she knew what she was doing. I decided to make an appointment with her to fix and soften my ombré and add some balayage. I loved the results. I was so thrilled and all my friends and family raved about it. She got the color perfectly and added much needed dimension to the color. I think I have seen her 4x and have yet to be disappointed in the slightest. She is also an excellent makeup artist too. If you want excellent service just ask for Mara! Dana is also excellent at squeezing me in since I am usually a walk in. The staff is really nice, but the owner isn't very welcoming. He isn't rude, just not welcoming to me everytime I've visited. Its a salon, so it is somewhat understandable. My only true complaint.... the music is ALWAYS stuck on the oldies. The salon doesn't look like much from the outside, not like the fancy salons I'm used to, but I really needed to get my nails done. When you walk in it looks like the owner is trying to make it 'chick' and 'modern', but it still has a long way to go until it gets there. The place is very outdated and not very stylish. Alyse handles the nail portion of the salon. She is very nice but if she doesn't like you she will decline doing your nails or asking you back.. So one day you are welcome and the next your not. She is also bit more expensive then other local places and does your nails using only a nail file so it takes a lot of time. She also likes to gossip and gets involved with the gossip in the salon. They also tend to make fun of customers after they leave. It's not very professional. Alyse also runs late most times so you may sometimes need to wait more than an hour. So between waiting an hour and another hour for your nails to get with an addition half hour to dry (they do not have a drying station), it can take up to 2.5 hours just for your nails. The owner of the salon, Anthony, is a very attractive guy that greets all visitors with a glowing smile and makes you feel welcome. But with that smile comes a cost. He likes to 'personally' get to know the younger woman that come in. It will start off by him asking you questions about something and when you answer he then asks for your cell number so he can call you if he has an issue with whatever. Then that leads to him using every trick in the book to get you to sleep with him. The funny part is that he is a long term 'girlfriend' that he lives with and flat out tells you that he likes to sleeps around. It's a wonder that his girlfriend hasn't figured this out. And don't ever tell him where you live...he will show up with coffee or some other beverage and ask to 'just talk'. Then he makes his move. I'm not saying that he has any diseases, but he does get around and everyone who works at the salon knows. It's like a joke when an attractive woman walks through the door. They all want a look at the next woman who will fall for it is. I almost did, but was lucky I didn't. Although I haven't fallen for his charm he still continues to try. Se beware ladies. The salon offers a number of different services and if there is a stylist that you don't like, you can always try another one. Each stylist has their own special talent for something, but everyone comes out looking the same. A majority of the clients are all very old, not many young people. The young people I have seen are always the children of the old people that go there. Yes, the owner still hits on them as long as they are old enough and pretty enough. The stylist also spend a majority of the time talking to each other and gossiping about this and that. They all act fake and will say whatever they can to make up for the bad hair style they give you and the uneven cut. All they want to do is blow-outs and no one knows how to style curly hair. Overall, if you want to get hit on by a creepy old guy trying to regain his youth and stylists that talk the whole time about gossip, then this is the place for you. At one point they were talking about getting their own show on tv, like that other Jersey hair salon. I go there for the entertainment and nothing more. It's like being on a different planet for a few hours. The funny part is these people think they are all that and much more....too funny!!!! read more

On one occasion as a result of nail extensions and nail acrylic being applied improperly and not in a clean manner two of my nails had green fungus and they fell off and I lost a nail due to it. When I have gotten my hair cut there by Ray it was a long process as he is not always sure what you want and he fights with you and ends up doing what he wants ...Anthony is a terrible stylist and hair colorist.... read more

What kind of salon doesn't have temperature control? The two hottest days so far - 90 degree days - and I'm getting my hair done in a place with no air conditioner? How does a salon operate like that? Blow-dryers going everywhere adding to the heat, sitting under a cape, warmer and warmer by the minute. My poor hair-stylist! And the others as well!!
