I found that almost all of them are up to par with the latest bookkeeping programs and are eager to help in any way they can. Not just in teaching but in giving you information on recent job openings, networking and organizations to look into for further guidance and help. I was unfortunate in landing Charlotte as my instructor. She knows her stuff when it comes to Peachtree, which only accounts for a fraction of the curriculum. However, when it comes to Quickbooks or Excel, and even manual entries, she falls short. If I were to ask a question based on a hypothetical situation, she would dismiss my inquiry with, "Oh don't worry about it. Some things are easier left to a CPA." Which she is NOT. Her lever of professionalism is much to be desired. She once told a student to "Use your brain." On days when we as a class are busy working on one of the mock companies, she will sit at a computer watching YouTube videos on financial reports, debits and credits and so forth. As if she's learning what she needs to teach us. I still have to say, this school is an excellent institute. Despite my instructor's lack of motivation to teach, I was able to use these programs and tap the other instructors for help whenever I needed it. I hope you consider this school. I learned so much. But if you do, I recommend you ask for any instructor other than Charlotte. Took the STCW Revalildation course with George Baldwin on 6.14.19…read more Let me give you a play-by-play PARKING: Although the lot has abundant parking, there are specific spots that the school has assigned for their student to park. To have this go smoothly, please pull up next to the door where you will see a podium marked with a sign for parking passes. There will also be an attendant to guide you to where you need to park. LOBBY: Once you enter the building you will immediately be facing the counter where students check in. Help out by having your ID ready. On the day I arrived multiple staff members were checking in people, so I will reiterate, do have your ID ready because I wouldn't blame them if you were skipped over because of a line of students... I had mine in my front pocket before I came in the door. Follow suit, you can put it back in your wallet later. CHECK-IN: After the staff photocopies your ID and answers any questions you may have concerning check-in and the class specifics, they will tell you where your class will be held. This might possibly include receiving a map of the facility which may be highlighted, displaying the route you will need to proceed along to arrive at your assigned classroom. LUNCH: The staff will also inform you that you can order lunch and it will be delivered but, you have to order before 8 A.M. Although, I will admit to not paying much attention to the lunch order details, due to bringing my own lunch, I will try to relay how things progressed. So, they have menus, which were located on the counter to the far right. I believe they stated that it was cash only. They will also inform you that several other options exist in the area and that you will have 60 minutes (1 hour) for lunch... That is long enough for lunch and a nap, if you bring your own. Trust me, I witnessed at least one guy napping, lol. STUDENT LOUNGE: This well laid out area, is located to the right of the check-in counter. You will find two drink machines and a snack machine here. You will also find complementary teas and coffee. There are plenty of tables, most with 4 chairs per table, but a few two-toppers as well. There are two microwaves here, and they were spotlessly clean when I arrived. Please be respectful and leave them in the condition that you found them... or better. There is a full-sized refigerator here, where you can store your lunch while you are in class. Do note that stickers have been made available, so that you can add one to your belongings and then mark it with your name/date (and I'd toss in the name of my class). They have sink, dishwashing liquid and hand sanitizer for keeping things clean. I would also like to point out that they have utensils, paper plates, napkins (open a napkin, or two, up fully and cover your food if you are microwaving items, be respectful of others and keep in mind that those who are hired to clean up are not specifically hired to clean up after you), and finally they have a decent stock of condiment packets like hot sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup and such. So, what I am telling you is that this was well thought out and properly designed to make the most out of their space. If this was an Olympic event I would give them a 10 for organization and imagineering. CLASSROOM: Although I took only the STCW Revalidation course (6.14.19: $600), I did look into other classrooms, such as ones that was designed as an engineering operating station (EOS)/control room. Very well and simply laid out. THE FACILITY: Although this facility would not be confused with or compared to a college campus in sheer size, like campus buildings, the rooms are labeled with numbers and some with specific functions, i.e. "Testing Room" the aformentioned map will assist even the the most navigationally challenged individuals. MY CLASSES: After the classroom instructional, the class was bussed over to two different facilities for firefighting and watercraft survival. The classes progressed smoothly and by the days end we all had our certificates. END GAME: I liked the school but, I did price out these classes elsewhere. I signed up for the 1-on-1 sessions with Maureen in addition to the "mastering" set of zoom group classes, and I also got her PT, essay, and MBE books. The books were half as thick as the standard prep materials but chock full of templates and examples, all of which help you to figure out what the examiners are looking for! The "mastering" group classes are on zoom, and include mastering essays, mastering CA pt, and mbe minutiae. These were definitely worth it to get acquainted with the different approaches to certain topics, and common MBE slip ups. As for the 1-on-1 sessions, some weeks included more essay practice, and some weeks had more PT practice, but all of it is tailored to you. MBE practice is constant throughout the whole prep, and the amount of practice sets will ramp up once the first two weeks or so has passed. The workload can be mid to high intensity depending on the schedule you adopt, but overall as long as you follow the initial schedule Maureen provides you with it will definitely be manageable. Also she keeps it real with you. If you ask her if she feels whether or not you'll pass she will be straight up with you to let you know where you stand. And if something popped up like you had to go to the doctor or something she will work with you to reschedule a session. Last note, the black letter law quicksheets are a lifesaver when it comes to memorizing the rules!

I wish I could give this place a higher rating as Maureen MacManus is knowledgeable in her method and approach in teaching. It is also evident that she tries to stay up-to-date with the latest information for the CA Bar. As background information, I signed up for the 10-pack graded essays and the "Mastering Essays" class. In the "Mastering" class, she thoroughly goes over an essay and her method of how to approach it from start to finish. She also provides access to old recordings of other essays she has gone over as she chooses different essays to review each bar cycle. The website is a bit disorganized and hard to find specific things. The recordings are not labeled to let you know which essay is being covered so you just have to click through them. With the already limited time I have, this is a bit frustrating. My biggest gripe is the turnaround time for the essays. While Maureen does provide meaningful and detailed feedback, I have had to follow up on an essay that I submitted two weeks ago. This is an inconvenience as the test is fast-approaching, and it would be helpful to know what I can change and practice this approach rather than practice it incorrectly several times. Moreover, I did not even receive an apology for this. I just got a "here is your essay" message. From the comments and date stamp on my essay, it looks like my esssay was graded within a week. So I assume it was just lost among other assignments to be returned, but I find that this is still inexcusable. I think I would be forgiving if I was at least given an apology instead of a short email.

They were awesome from start to finish. Tuba helped with the condo sale with incredibly valuable staging advice that helped us get a very good offer, above our asking price, on our condo. It took a week to stage and a weekend to sell. Every contingency was released early. Every detail went off perfectly. They helped us look at many places, before we chose and bought our house. They set alerts for the exact neighborhood, school district and dimensions we wanted. We were always first to look, when anything hit the market, because they were so on top of the new MLS listings and communication. The market was very tight. This rapid response was a huge advantage to us. Sinan was so funny and helpful. He's awesome to look at new properties with, because he'll have you cracking up with his stories and observations, as you drive and look around. Whenever my husband and I had any tension or disagreement with each other about our priorities, Sinan's humor was there to save the day and keep us on track toward our common vision. It's almost like having a couple's therapist on hand to work with them, because as a couple themselves, they seem to get the ins and outs of marital negotiations. ;) Tuba was very thorough and knowledgeable about all of the paperwork and stayed on top of a fairly complicated sale, that had four owner/sellers, who didn't get along, and kept stalling on responses to spite one another. Their agent wasn't as knowledgeable or good at getting them to cooperate, so the sale could go through within the required timeline. It could've gone south numerous times, because of the sellers' issues with each other, but Tuba kept pushing things along, like a champ. She caught every missing date and document the sellers threw at us, and made sure everything went exactly on schedule and by the book. Rely Realty found a very thorough inspector who helped save us time and money in escrow by catching problems with the house that got us money back from the sellers at closing. They recommended a very smart and helpful loan officer and made sure we were preapproved, knew our exact budget in a number of possible scenarios. We were ready to roll within days, and before we saw properties or listed our own home. Tuba and Sinan were also helpful and knowledgeable about excellent and affordable contractors and vendors to assist in our remodel of our new home. We wanted to buy a fixer and make it totally our own. We saved a bundle of money by working with Rely Realty to find and finish our dream home. They got those tricky sellers to allow us to bring in vendors to the home, before closing, so our plan of action and materials were all completely in place the minute we closed. We finished our remodel on time and in budget. It was like a construction miracle. If you're looking for a realty company that is a one stop shop to connect all those intimidating real estate dots, Tuba and Sinan at Rely Realty are the best! Call them! However, when we spoke with her more and explained to her our budget and my fears, she took it upon herself to really help us. I completed the 52 hours and signed up for the state exam thru their link which redirected me to PSI exams. I decided to buy PSI exams practice tests just in case. Well, if it wasn't for their practice tests I might have failed the state exam. The questions Mike Russ trained me for were really nothing close to what the PSI exam was asking. I barely passed the exam which I can attribute to the PSI practice tests but I gotta say that Mike Russ needs to update their training. Their practice tests need to be aligned more to what the state exam is going to be like. For that I thank PSI. Hopefully the program gets a review an update for future students

I took the crash course for my P&C test, and the man (I believe it was Jake Russ) leading the class…read morewas so disgustingly sexist and unprofessional. He constantly went onto tangents about his personal life with unrelated and inappropriate anecdotes, bashing his ex-wife, women in general, and making crude, sexual, and harrasing jokes at the expense of women and the other students in the course. I paid for the course and I deeply regret that I had to sit here and listen to this unhelpful lecture. I don't feel any more prepared for the exam because he doesn't go over any info with substantial coverage, nor does he discuss anything that isn't already covered to death in the standard pre-licensing training or offer any unique insight. He also would make the jokes repeatedly and then claim that these are all just jokes and to not take them seriously, in an obvious attempt to protect himself.
