A/C went out in the middle of the night, first got a quote from NJR (really expensive). then called Anthony. Answered the phone immediately and was at my home in less than an hour. Within 20 minutes he quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the faulty part. While looking at our system he noticed an issue with the chimney and recommended that we get it looked at, without us asking to inspect the system. This guy is the BEST. We had a major problem and I called him up and he was over within an hour. It wasn't just that, he was "a regular guy". So nice, explained what was wrong, clearly discussed pricing, timing, etc. We agreed to move forward with him, and he fixed it even quicker. He didn't try to rip us off with other items saying "this or that needs to be done also" and he was a pleasure to hire. We then were having another problem about 5 days later - he was over the same day, and fixed the problem in no time - and then looked at a possible problem for us without a charge. We didn't have to pay him immediately as he sent an invoice to us when he did his billing. My boiler is acting up and I contacted Anthony and he was here within an hour. Turns out my pump might be failing. Instead of immediately selling me on getting a new pump installed, he oiled it up and suggested to wait a few days to see if it just needed to be oiled. He even left a bottle of oil for me to continue to oil it. He took the time to explain everything to me. My heat went out on a cold Saturday in February at 4pm. I looked up some Yelp reviews and found Anthonys Mechanical. His ad said he was open Saturdays until five. I'm thinking "who is going to be calling me back at this hour?" Incredibly, he called me back and told me he can come by tonight or tomorrow morning. We agreed that he would come on Sunday morning at 8 AM . . Needless to say he was there at 7:55! Anthony went into my attic, and did a complete diagnostic. He wrote down everything that he saw that was wrong with my electrical work . Unfortunately, he told me I would need an electrician because he could not do all this type of work. I was disappointed in the fact that he could not complete the work for me, but I was astounded at how honest he was, how responsive he was, and I was so impressed That I told him that I will definitely write him a wonderful review on yelp! A couple of years ago I called Anthony because of a problem I was having with my LG gas dryer. After diagnosing the problem, Anthony told me due to a lint fire that occurred, he wouldn't (not couldn't) fix the dryer. His reason was he couldn't guarantee it would function safely. I was very impressed with his honesty because he didn't profit by making the repair. I called Anthony again (two days ago) when I was having a problem with the freezer on my LG refrigerator. Anthony explained to me that it was an easy fix that I could do myself and it turned out it was. Again, he took money out of his own pocket by not making the service call. Anthony is a rare breed in today's dog eat dog world. I'm still amazed of how helpful and honest Anthony is. Well, Anthony is very nice, we've used him on our fridge years ago when we had a Freon leak. Been fine since. We needed service again for a leak. He came right out thankfully. To stop the water flow without a shut off, I cut the factory line to cap off the water supply to the fridge. He said he cannot reconnect the line without the factory end piece and would have to replace the whole filter housing to get the water line attachment I cut off ($300ish) I wanted to do a temp repair on the line instead of replacing the whole part to determine if the leak was internal or not. If it was or wasn't repairable, because I don't want to spend $300plus if I have to get a new fridge anyway....well it's been a week. no response to texts until today he tells me he's too busy now to do it, so he left me hanging.... NOT a good way to handle a "service" call. Obviously, some jobs are too small for him. Off to find a new repair company now. read more
