She is not a pediatric dentist, but she is great with children. My daughter loved her so much as we were leaving she said, "I can't wait to go back!" Literally. We were looking for a dentist for a second opinion since the pediatric dentist I had gone to previously said my four year old daughter had two cavities, and that to fill them I would not be able to go back in the room with her, and that they would need to strap her down (something I was not going to allow to happen to my child). We went to see Dr. Mary Beth yesterday, and she was wonderful. She talked to my daughter and made her feel completely comfortable, then she explained everything she was going to do in a very calm way. She said that she only had one small cavity, and was able to fill it without using Novocain (so no shot). I'm so glad we went there. I was practically having a panic attack when picturing a dentist strapping my daughter down and drilling in her mouth. Everything was pleasant and presented in a non-scary way with Dr. Mary Beth.

The toys, video game consoles, and movie in the waiting room are definitely a huge part of the appeal for the kids. That said, it's really starting to feel run-down and unloved. The video game consoles are always broken or offline, the movies are too quiet to hear, and those toys have dwindled. The reception desk staff seems harried and doesn't have time to make sure the kids are excited to be there. The radio in the lobby is much louder than the movie, and the seating in the waiting room is downright gross to sit on- it's filthy. Where it used to feel clean and cared for and welcoming, now it feels shabby and broken, and that almost subliminal feeling of it not being cared for starts to translate into it feeling like a place that is uncomfortable. I do know that my kids still don't mind going to the dentist and they get good, solid care from a dentist who is well-regarded by the profession in this region. That is hugely important. But we also carefully seek out pediatric dentists that make our feel children comfortable and safe, so they don't take a fear of going to the dentist into adulthood with them. I hope that they give their physical space and waiting room some TLC so it can continue to welcome kids and help them have healthy attitudes toward their dental health.

The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. They made sure my insurance was accepted and set me an appointment on the spot. Yesterday was my first appointment. My hygienist was incredibly thorough and communicative through my X-rays and cleaning. She took her time to make sure she not only got my deep cleaning completed but provided me with very helpful information for self care and maintenance at home. My doctor was excellent as well. Again, she took her time to ensure my teeth and gums looked good and had no issues. She also suggested a more comprehensive scan to assess a wisdom tooth suggested for extraction and took the time to explain things and made sure to address any questions. My check out was friendly, professional and quick. The front desk explained they would reach out to my insurance provider to pre-authorize a procedure and set me up for my follow up appointment. The facility is beautiful, everything is so clean and updated and the technology at Signature Dental is top of the line. She has always been straightforward, kind and tells me what she would do for her own child if he were in the same situation. When I wasn't keen on using fluoride on my son's teeth, she didn't shame me, she shared her brother did the same with his kids. I wish I could be her patient. Our previous pediatric dentist was too aggressive for my liking, charging us nearly a thousand dollars for 2 fillings ON BABY TEETH. Dr. Kaur takes a much more conservative (and modern) approach: one son has 2 microcavities that she recommended treating with silver diamine fluoride instead of fillings; the other has a new cavity on a baby tooth that she'd prefer to just monitor until he loses it. The office is very welcoming and the hygienist was so nice to my younger son, who was a little bit scared at first. I wish it wasn't only a pediatric practice - I'd make an appointment for myself, if I could!
