Sam and the gang are great people, They have strong Christian vibes which I appreciate for people taking care of my dad. Dad enjoys the good food and the staff are kind to him, he also does some light work by his own choice which the staff allows to give him that sense of home. He likes to blow leaves and he says he occasionally assists with trash or drying dishes. He feels very at home. For me I notice that he gets good medical care and the team is very communicative with me. Many services are performed on sight. Initially, I looked at a ton of reviews and toured a few different facilities for memory care around the valley. This was the only place that I could see myself being happy if I was to be living in a memory care facility or group home. It feels like a regular very nice house with caregivers. It's a difficult decision to put a parent in a home, but in this case I felt I made a great choice. Dad is not capable of living with me as I have too much responsibility at home and his care needs are vast, and yet, he is not so sick that he needs to be in a hospital setting and I'm sure he doesn't want to feel he's in some sort of institution. Anthem Senior Manor has been amazing. The staff is what you look for and evaluate at these types of facilities. Then you look to the environment, including the Home itself, the amenities, and the activities that are coordinated. This home checks all the boxes. The chaos that has become our life stopped after stepping into Anthem Senior Manor and meeting Sam, the owner. I was also welcomed immediately by managers Carlos and Tracey. Both of my parents were living in Washington and after numerous health emergencies, enough was enough, I needed and wanted them closer. My mother suffers from Alzheimer's, frightening for the person as well as the family. My father has many health issues including dementia. From the first day he was placed in ASM, I never questioned my decision. I instantly felt the love, comfort, and reassurance from Sam that my dad was in good hands. Sam expressed several times I could always reach out with questions and concerns, and he would be there. Good to his word, he has been. I can't sugar coat my dad's personality. He is strong willed, quick to anger, and stubborn. Giving up your independence and moving into a home with others is a big deal. Despite his many flareups, the caregivers have always treated him with respect. My dad arrived with his prior caregiver from Washington at deaths door. Jana, the houses NP, quickly, efficiently, and professionally diagnosed and ran tests to get his health stabilized. I have never met any medical professional more on top of geriatric medicine than Jana. She is persistent and never gives up. Tracey and Carlos are always working behind the scenes making sure everyone receives the best care possible. After getting my dad settled my mom arrived, moving her from another care facility having finally settled in her previous home, I was worried she would have a hard time adjusting to the move. You see my mom is an only child that went from college to marriage never living alone. Her Alzheimer's is very advanced to the point she was forgetting who my dad was. It was hard to be patient waiting for another room to open at ASM. My parents have been married for 66 years and are now reunited living under the same roof at ASM. They have been together for a month now. The house sends pictures showing me the activities my mom is involved in. She is not one to sit still and likes to be involved, which can be taxing on anyone, but the skilled caregivers pick up on those cues and redirect and focus her attention on other things. A cute story, once she was having a bad day when my dad was out of the house. Carlos put her in the car to run errands and played music from her generation so she could sing along. All her worries in that moment subsided. That's just one of the many sweet gestures that I have witnessed. To say the least, my mom has adjusted well. For anyone seeking a place for a loved one, look no further than one of Sam's homes. Each is operated by people who will treat your loved ones with love, care, compassion, and dignity. Sam and his care team have developed a culture that is incredible. It can only be understood by experiencing it. The difference in their operation is noticeable in small details. My Father is a resident at ASM. My sister and I transferred him from a LTC facility in Texas to ASM which is a beautiful home to up to 10 residents. The staff is amazing and caring. My dad's hygiene is kept very well!!! He's has a regular shower schedule that he enjoys and before he came he refused most daily cares. The meals are prepared fresh and the home is always clean! Anthem Senior Retreat is the best care home in Arizona. The residents receive tailored care to their needs. Best of all, it is a loving home for my Mom. Everybody treats her with love and kindness and she is not alone but around other people her age. The meals are fantastic and always make the whole home smell wonderful!! The home is a beautiful place to be and I am always so happy to bring her back to her home after an outing. The caregivers welcome her with open arms and she is loved at her home!! She spends her days around people and with activities that are perfect for her.
