They are really good with their time management during their tutoring sessions. Jason's response time to questions and concerns are quick. The initial meeting was very simple. My daughter took an assessment and Jason when over the results and discussed the best placement for her. My daughter does need the one to one instruction or small group due to her learning needs and this was the best place for it. My daughter has been a struggled learner with inattentive ADHD. It is very difficult for her to retain information and I have noticed a difference with her in processing information and her academics. She has picked up some learning strategies that I know she wasn't getting from me or her school. She dreads reading, but I have noticed that she is independently looking at her surroundings and trying to read words more. She is blending and chunking words a lot better since she has started at this center. When she is reading I noticed that she is actually using context clues and making inferences about what she is reading. She also comments about her tutors outside of the center, which is really positive for me to see and hear because when a child talks about their school day, it shows that they are being engaged and intrinsically motivated. My daughter enjoys coming here and she loves the incentives they provide.

Our child has been going to Mathnasium Milpitas for about five years, starting in primary school…read more We began onsite and switched to online a couple of years ago. The flexibility has been a real plus -- you can move between onsite and online anytime, and they've been very accommodating with last-minute rescheduling and pausing during vacation. Their approach: they assess your child's actual level, follow the California curriculum, and won't advance to a new topic until the current one is mastered. That cuts both ways. It can get repetitive and boring for the child at times. We raised this with the center and they worked with the child on it. The big upside is that gaps don't get papered over. Worth mentioning: they don't assign homework. All the work happens in-session, so it doesn't add to the pile your child is already carrying from school. Every kid has their own way of learning, their own preferred subjects, and their own motivation. Mine has not expressed much love for math -- but the grades ended up being A's, and I believe Mathnasium contributed to that. It's not the only factor, of course there are very important ones: daily parent support with school homework and test prep. For a while it felt like my child was going backwards, working on older topics while school has moved on. The Mathnasium team has been responsive whenever we've had questions. Choosing an after-school math academy wasn't an easy decision. It's a long-term commitment of both time and money, and we struggled with it. Sharing our experience in case it helps other parents weighing the same choice. Recommended -- as long as you understand the method and aren't expecting overnight results.

Carla was incredibly professional and responsive from the very start. She answered all my questions and provided detailed information right away, making the entire setup process smooth and stress-free. The tutoring sessions are held via Zoom, and Carla (or sometimes one of her team members) works one-on-one with your student, accommodating your child's schedule. What really stood out to me is how much care they put into understanding what your child needs. The approach is highly personalized, with a clear goal of setting students up for long-term success. It's also very clear that Carla is passionate about what she does--and based on both my experience and the many other glowing reviews, she's also truly excellent at it. My only regret is not finding this service sooner. Bottom line, highly recommended.

During the Covid-19 situation, they started to have online MPM and that really works out a lot! MS Tang is such a wonder teacher!!! She will use different ways to guide my boys when they are confused about math problems. She won't get mad when my kids are trying to skip math problems but encourage and guide them to think and solve the problems together. My older one also joined the writing class and the teacher really had very good interactions with kids.  I never thought my kid could remember so many vocabularies and he really did!  So proud of him!   I really love this place because my boys love to come.  This is really important for me!!!  I believe that only a welcome learning environment can help kids grow and so far this place really helps them a lot!

They pay attention to details and work 1:1 if your kid has issues with specific concepts or subjects. If you have reached this page, you are curious about Best Brains and checking Google for any information available. My 6 years old has been going to Best Brains since July 2016 and so far I am satisfied with results. They offer English, Math, Abacus and other classes at few days a week. The owner(Sylvia) is a friendly lady always willing to offer answers. I have seen the same teachers with my kid for a while, meaning he doesn't have to adjust based on new teachers. Fees is reasonable based on other places I have seen in Bay Area. Its very closed to India Bazaar, you can do grocery shopping while you kid is gaining skills. Parking can be challenging sometimes but its available most of the times. I have seen improvement in my kid in last 4 months and I hope he will continue improving at same or greater pace. Good luck with your decision. Message me if you have any additional questions. Disclaimer: I am not paid or compensated in any way for writing this tutoring center. I want to give this place a fair review and just share my experience…read more Pros: I think this place has a lot of potential. Multiple subjects, small tutoring size and good price, and seemingly good curriculum. The location is convenient. It's clean inside and many students. Cons: here is my experience: I brought my daughter in for the assessment. The owner was coldly polite. Did not introduce herself, say hello or anything but merely directed my daughter to take an assessment test. I felt a little put off by just the lack of warmth but I wanted to give the place a benefit of the doubt. When she is done and the owner asks my daughter her name. My daughter has a soft voice and the owner said "say it! You need to talk louder". She had just met my daughter and already is reprimanding her? ...bad taste in my mouth but again, benefit of the doubt. I decide against my gut to sign up (never again will I not trust my instincts). After we leave, my daughter pleads with me "please do not send me here. Please!" She was in tears. We had a long talk, I was shocked and conflicted bc she LOVES school, has been to many tutoring programs and camps over the years and has always loved them. She is 9. Feel free to PM me if you want to know details. My daughter's experience is only part of the reason for the bad review--most of it is the owner's response and my own feeling about the place. Anyway, after much deliberation, and consultation with my husband I decided I would try to see if we could get our deposit back or, I could voice my concerns with the owner and see if there could be some kind of reassurance or solution. Two days later I go back to the center and ask politely can we please cancel, it was two days ago, she has not started yet. Owner says no, they already "bought the materials." Really? Ok so plan B, let's see if we can make this work. I shared with her my daughter's experience and she became very defensive. I told her it may be the center's focus on education (vs development of the child's love for learning) and not a good fit. She said I cannot say her "center is bad," shoved me the money and non-verbally said "get out." I walked out and realized she gave me more than what I had paid. It was a measly $30 more and no way I was walking back in there after she treated me that way. Plus it was her mistake. I drive 5 minutes and she has the audacity to call me! "You owe me $30!" At this point I am laughing in disbelief. I kind of felt anger mixed with pity for how crazy she was acting. I wanted to be the bigger person and not stoop to her level so I drove back to give the dumb $30 back. I calmed down and went back and tried to reason with her. I told her she is obviously doing something right bc there are lots of kids here but she needs to listen and be able to receive feedback. She just got more and more defensive saying my daughter hadn't even tried it, how can she listen to me? I said if you are not listening now, what makes me so sure you're going to listen once we try? She was not hearing me and just being defensive. I tried. I'm sure this place is working for a lot of families but I just want to warn those who are looking for a higher level of customer service to beware. My take home: trust my instincts!
