I was especially impressed on the most recent project that included mounting of a digital photo frame. Carlos simply "wasn't having it" to mount the frame with the electrical cord showing! He expertly drilled holes and snaked the cord through the inside of the wall and back out just above the electrical outlet for an amazingly clean look. He had the finishing caps to cover the entry and exit holes too. Carlos and the crew also took a very personal interest in mounting my career memorabilia (22 plaques and awards!) beautifully in my home office. And they are undaunted by "oddball" stuff like mounting clips for a tapestry in my media room to cover unsightly electrical panels. Their excellence starts with the manager Marc who gathers a LOT of information from you (pictures, model numbers, installation videos, etc.) so that the crew arrives fully prepared. Not only are their prices very competitive, but Flatpack offers a flat RATE quote so that the crew stays until the job is completed. I'm very pleased to have found this amazing company.

Everyone makes mistakes, (I had specifically requested 6 brackets be installed; was told that was overkill, 4 would be plenty; it wasn't) but you communicate with your customers and you fix them. This company was interested in doing neither. Within two days of completion, the shelves they built came crashing down, inflicting further damage on my wall, closet, and adjacent mirror that was knocked off. Of course, I reached out immediately, asking that someone come back to make the necessary repairs. (Mind you: I couldn't even access my closet during this time without making it worse, nor could I move my dresser to plug back in my nightstand light, which had been knocked out in the crash as well.) It took a week to even get a response, which was basically "Oh, I didn't see your email." (Note: Their full page invoice does not include company phone number on it, so I assumed email was their preferred contact. I'm sorry you were out of the office, but maybe your business could set an auto-response email at the very least?! And maybe when you return, check your in-box?? Or better yet, follow up to assess client satisfaction after project completion?) Marc informed me that he wanted the same worker to come out and handle the repair, but that he was out of town and would reach out to schedule me by Friday of that week. I asked that he respond by phone or text (wanting to get this resolved quickly). He didn't listen, and instead emailed again, declining my request to please just send whatever worker was available sooner. I followed up a week after that, only to understand I'd been forgotten about again. I tried a third time. Three weeks later (it has now been a month since shelves fell) --nothing!!! I gave up and had to hire another company to come fix everything, paying them to undo the job I paid Flatpack for, AND repair (i.e., remove damaged metal strip along closet, mud and tape drywall, re-paint after re-hanging shelves securely) the further damage they caused. Completely unprofessional company management. Lesson learned. I had at least three more days of work for these guys ready to go, but would never hire them again. If you want to feel unvalued as a customer by a company that doesn't stand by its work, this is the one.

The handyman Ali Kharamesh was scheduled to arrive at 8:00 a.m., but on the day of the appointment I received a text saying his car broke down and asking if he could arrive between 12-1 p.m. He eventually showed up with an additional handyman, which I never agreed to. All three closets were built incorrectly in the exact same way and did not match the reference image or instructions. When I pointed this out, I was told it must be a manufacturer defect. He throw away pieces of the installation without consent. The closet manufacture confirmed it was incorrectly installed. There were incorrect drilling and the back board was all incorrect. I contacted FixTman customer service and was told to call the manufacturer and that FixTman would pay for replacement parts. However, the store's only option was a full return, which I accepted. FixTman sent another handyman Chris the next day who looked at the previous person's job and told Nihal he could not fix it because some of the primary tools that came with the closet were missing. After that, FixTman - Seattle attempted to charge me extra for the additional handyman I never approved. I was initially promised a full refund, but later received a call offering only a 10% refund instead from Nihal. This company does not stand by its word and does not take responsibility for poor workmanship. I am still trying to obtain the full refund that was promised, and they are unwilling to honor it. Avoid this vendor at all costs. The company proceeded to deny my refund and I filed with Thumbtack who saw the incident gave me $284 fully back.

I like that they saved what I sent to Aziz in my email and he sent me my receipt (not sure if this is automatic but I requested a receipt). The technician said his method of payment would be cash and he didn't create receipts. But the technician called Aziz and we confirmed that I paid the money. Aziz emailed my receipt as an attachment the next morning. A little issue with that because I was worried for a minute that he wouldn't respond and give me a receipt. I wanted to make sure no one would accuse me of owing money later. After talking to Aziz on the phone then sending an email later, I was glad to see Aziz's email with my receipt the next morning. I would also like to suggest that the technicians bring a ladder to every appointment. I said I needed pictures hung and the technicians said some of my pictures were too high. They said they were not told to bring a ladder. As a customer, I wouldn't think of that. I did think the picture could be hung and I offered for them to use my step ladder but I guess they felt it wouldn't work so I have to hang some of the pictures myself. But, otherwise, everything else that they did was great. I'm not sure if the price was fair because Any Assembly was the only quote I received for the work. I sent inquiries to 2 other places. I still haven't heard back from those 2 other places. I'm happy with the work that was done. Any Assembly sent 2 technicians and they put together 2 loft workstation bunk beds, hung up 4 wall lamps from IKEA and hung about 10 pictures. They worked from about 2:30p (arrived promptly on time) and ended at 7p. $400 for very fast, professional service. At some point, the technicians were even asking if there was anything else I might need. I didn't feel like they were rushing or trying to hurry to leave. And the technician even fixed my broken drawer when he saw it was broken, free of charge. I would definitely contact Any Assembly again and recommend them to a friend. I'm glad to have found a company that can do what they do. It definitely leaves me with more options when I buy things for my home. I don't have to worry about how I will put furniture together or how I would find time to hang up a lot of pictures in symmetrical balance. I am a Very Satisfied Customer! :)

Three guys arrived right on time. Super respectful -- when they saw the row of shoes near my doorway, all three of them immediately took off their shoes before they entered the apartment! I didn't even ask. They're quite speedy. With time to spare after hanging the painting, they helped me out with a handful of smaller framed photos and two big curtain rods. And when the curtain rods broke -- because they were pretty cheap and the threading on the screws had been stripped -- they MacGyver-ed it back together simply using a piece of string I would definitely hire them again.
