Waitlisted on a Friday morning and it stated 40 min. Took us 30 mins drive there and park. We were told 15 min wait- OK. After 20 mins, we ask again. Sorry- 15-20 more min wait. You JUST PAGED US! It's on the iPad in your hand! We said 5, she gave us 3 menus... seriously? The server was awesome and cheerful. The food was amazing. But again ... customer service. 2 plates came out, 5 mins later 2 more plates, 5 mins later the last plate. Why is our food not coming out all together? We ask for the check and get it promptly, but it took another 10 mins for her to come pick it up... Lots of room for improvement for the customer service end of it, and even though the food was absolutely delicious, it wasn't enough to outshine the poor initial impression with the lack of hostess skills and wait time. read more

Came here after a visit with my niece as this is in close proximity to the University of Alabama. Parking is free and there is a lot as it is in a storefront area. But even though there is a lot of parking, there is also a lot of people, so snag a space if you see it and walk a few extra steps, if you can. There was a short wait when we arrived that was approximately 15 minutes. We opted to sit at a table outside. It was a sunny day, but could have been a bit warmer to enjoy outside more. The outside seating has a great view of a river, which is nice. Our serve was Alana and she was extraordinary! She was attentive, has great recommendations, is very witty and funny and has fantastic people skills! Looking around at the other table she was serving, they were equally as happy with her service. I ordered a southern scramble and a side of lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes. Those pancakes stole the show. Everything tasted great but I didn't put much of a dent in the scramble as it is a good size portion and the pancakes deterred me from eating more! Lol! Avoid- This used to be my go to place but it has gotten dirty. Also, they apparently had a no parking sign that was not visible at all because of bushes. No one was in the lot, just our car and a few more. A sham business in town came to tow the car. Cost $100 bucks to drop it and broken egg did nothing. Let's begin with the menu which changes seasonally. I've got a few favorites on last season's menu but this one is just as good! I started with the Classic Bacon burger which was two (hand-formed) beef patties, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato, and pickled onions on a brioche bun. The parties were juicy and perfectly seasoned and the pickled onions bacon and cheddar cheese played beautifully with the other flavors. It also came with a kosher dill spear! I mean who doesn't love pickles?!?! Then I had the Southern Chicken Sandwich, which you can get fried or grilled, mine was grilled and came with bacon, tomato, pickled onions, ( held the ranch) on a brioche bun. The two chicken tenders were cooked just right, the pickled onions?!?! Scrumdilliumptious! And the thick-cut, crispy, bacon made this sandwich a HIT! It also came with a kosher dill spear. Now to the Ridiculously delicious Goat Cheese, lemon, and blueberry pancakes. Light, fluffy, savory, with the perfect amount of lemon kisses all over them! Do yourself a favor and get 100% Real Maple syrup! DO NOT DISRESPECT these pieces of culinary mastery with table syrup, you will be found guilty of high treason. We don't eat here often because it's always so busy and there is always a wait (breakfast time.) When we do eat here, it has always been good. It's right on the water which is nice. You can sit inside or outside depending on what kind of ambience you want. The service has always been good for us and the food has always been very good as well. We do enjoy coming here. Kinda gross, but scraped it off and had my normal pancakes. My friend wanted the inside from an omelet without the egg and they were able to do it over grits. It was amazing! Our server was attentive and made sure we got what we wanted. I don't know that I would wait in line here, but I would absolutely recommend getting to go if it's busy or going when students are gone. I've been coming here forever and it is usually a great experience! Me and my friend's, group of 7 came in and were told a 25 minute wait. We waited for over an hour, and went back up to ask and they said it would be a little longer, we ended up deciding to leave and as we were walking out of the door all the servers and one of the hosts started yelling yes and clapping as we left?! I am in love with their cinnamon roll French toast!! My boyfriend and I came here and I ordered cinnamon roll French toast. It came topping with a rum butter sauce and cream cheese icing, whipped cream, and fresh berries. AMAZING!! the best breakfast I've ever had. The sauces are so sweet and delicious and the fresh fruit/ whipped cream are the perfect complement to lighten up the dish. These are a must try if you like cinnamon rolls. They even come with eggs and a meat of choice (bacon, sausage, maple apple chicken sausage, ham) and eggs, but I substituted them for breakfast potatoes. My boyfriend got biscuits and gravy which comes with breakfast potatoes, sausage patties, and eggs, but he subbed the eggs for an extra side of potatoes. The biscuit was nice and fluffy and the sausage tasted good; however, the gravy had a very weird texture/taste. It was thick and almost pasty, and tasted like meat. I wouldn't recommend this dish. Although we weren't too happy with the one dish, and the potatoes were a bit dry, there are so many other dishes that sound wonderful, the service was good. We didn't wait too long to be seated but I've heard they're pretty packed on the weekends, the waitresses were nice, and we left full !! They have great portion sizes. They also have a variety of spiked coffees and drinks which sound good but I wish they made more specialty non-alcoholic drinks. Overall great experience. Been to a few places called a broken egg. I believe it's a chain. It's always been good. Most recent experience was excellent unfortunately they wouldn't allow our dog inside even though it was extremely hot. He's a very road trained dog quiet lays down. We offered to sit in an empty area, but we had to put the dog in the vehicle and then we finished up Mail left.
