DO NOT EVER go to crystal. It took her two hours to do a simple plain color set. She filed them for 45 minutes and there are still bumps. I asked her multiple times to please file the sides because they looked like circles and they look genuinely so awful and she told me she was unable to file sides, but then filed the top so short to where it is literally pointless to have a tip added to the nail. They double checked on what I wanted and made sure I liked it before proceeding. Joe handled my feet with so much care, the massage was amazing and the hot rocks and towels felt so good. Ok, so I went to get my nails done at Annie's Sky Nails and Spa A basic pedicure and manicure plus gel polish. They quoted me $80 at the register. The Nail Salon had a pleasant decor and was very welcoming, the service was Ok. They offered me water twice and I declined. Then I asked if the water was free and she replied yes. I said ok I'll take a bottle of water. Toward the end the price changed to $95 not including tax. When I got home I realized I got a rash from the oil she used to massage my arm. I was visiting my Mom and needed acrylic fills. Went to Annie's where I got the man that sits at the end, married to the lady next to him. All he did was talk about how wonderful he is and ladies love the way he does french nails. I showed him a picture of how I wanted them painted. He DOES NOT PAINT. He used pink acrylic! These are my nails after THREE days! This is completely unacceptable. I have gotten my nails done here for the last two fills. The first set were fine until day 5 then after an accident I was in, I lost two which I understand was probably because of the accident. The staff was friendly. I ended up with a girl that was not wearing gloves, yet every other technician was. I didn't like that she wasn't complying with safety guidelines. Also, I asked to keep my mail length but she filed them down anyway. The technician told me a gel manicure was $30, only to find out at the register that she was wrong and it was actually $35 for a gel manicure. Also, there was no manicure part of this service. It was literally just filing and then clipping. Nothing else. That's not a manicure $15 service. (Regular gel no manicure is $20). Also you will see in my pictures that the polish is see through. Annie's is the absolute most unsanitary nail salon I've ever been to. The tools look like they have never once been cleaned. There is dust about a half-inch thick all over the surfaces. However, I've tried a few places and this is the only one that comes anywhere near to supplying a satisfactory service. Still way too high! After spending anywhere from $80-$100 many times for services, while having the technician not listen to me at all, I will check out Ulta for supplies and do my own nails. Finally, technicians at Annie's Nails treat customers as though they should feel privileged to sit before them in the over-crowded space. How this is the "Best of the Boro" is beyond me. This certainly cannot be the best statesboro has to offer. An honest review of my service start to finish follows. I will begin by saying I get SNS every 2 weeks and this service typically takes an hour, whereas at Annie's the technician spent about 25 min on my nails. The entire service felt rushed like she was just trying to get me in and out. Upon arrival I sat down, waited 15 min after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. While waiting, I heard the staff rudely refuse to give multiple walk in patrons an estimated wait time. Once seated with my technician, the first thing I noticed was how filthy her gloves were. She clearly had not changed them all day. Rather than allowing my SNS to soak off as other salons would (it takes time), she immediately used the drill to sand it thinner. The brief moment she did allow them to soak was in a used dish that was covered in remnants of all the nails soaked off that day (gross). She then sanded the rest of my nail off with no regard for my cuticle or surrounding skin. Moving on to the actually doing the SNS, she dipped my nails in and out so quickly that none of the powder stuck to the side. She did nothing to fix the sides or the fact that the white of my nails is clearly visible through the powder. She rapidly filed my nails leaving them uneven and misshapen. Then she was onto the next customer before the top coat was even dry. I advise everyone to visit a salon where the nail technicians actually take the time to do a good job. read more

I had asked for an acrylic full set and it was probably one of the worst sets I had ever had done. I showed my nail tech a picture of what I had wanted which was a pretty simple design nothing too crazy or too difficult. The lady who did my nails was extremely rough cutting my skin on my fingers trying to do it too fast. My ring finger is longer than my middle finger. The lady doing my nails kept asking her coworkers if they knew how to do the design I wanted bc she didn't know how to. Which was very unprofessional because how am I spending my money at a place that doesn't even know how to do a simple design. She sent me over to another lady where she just slapped on some paint and used remover to make the lines not as thick. They gave me what I did not want and something that looked nothing like the picture. I kept telling her I did not like it and for her to fix it and she just kept saying it looked good. THEN proceeded to charge me $80 for a short set that was uneven with some paint slapped on it claiming to be a "design". Talk about the slums! Customer service is nonexistent! Their attitudes are awful. I was in a pickle and needed my toes done for an event I had later that night and they were the only salon that could take me as my usual location didn't have any openings. I entered the nail salon as was greeted immediately. The host said that it would be a ten minute wait. Almost an hour later, they are ready for me. I sat down to get my feet done and watched as the person who was supposed to do my feet move to my chair to start on my pedicure attempting to use the same utensils that they had just used on someone else! They did not sterilize or wash the utensils! The nail tech got a whole attitude when i mentioned and asked me if I wanted someone else to do my feet. College students be careful! My daughter went in yesterday and had SNS removed and nails painted for a total of $25. She was one of the technicians last, if not the last, customer of the day. She sent me a pic of her nails and while at the time I thought they looked like they had been done using a home nail polish kit, I didn't tell her so. This morning at 9 AM she called and told me that 4 of her nails had ripped on both sides to the quick/ nail bed. She has worked so hard to grow out her nails and has never had long nails having been a nail-biter in the past. She doesn't know anything about what is best for her type of nails. I told her to call the salon and let them know what happened and that they needed to redo them. She asked for the owner, Tom to do them. She explained all of this to him when she got there and he made her feel as if it had been her fault such a bad job was done. "Nails were too thin for polish, side of one nail had been filed almost to the quick, etc etc..." Here is the thing... if her nails were too thin to be polished, the nail tech should have told my daughter that- that is part of the nail techs job. Today, after they were "fixed" she paid (let's be real here-I paid) another $35 to get them done again. She is young and I feel like she was taken advantage of because she is a student. Maybe they think students have unlimited sources of money they can dig into every day-who knows. She was not given the student discount yesterday or today- and no discount or anything for having to return to repair the service she had done yesterday... well she did leave with something, feeling like it was her fault that polish didn't work on her too thin nails. Statesboro is a small town, a great town. Businesses like this rely on return customers and word of mouth customer recommendations, and online reviews. With service like this, I don't know how this is the best nail salon in town. She chose this salon because it had the best reviews. SMH, because that is unbelievable given the experience we have had there. It is NOT okay to pay to have your nails done and them just look "meh" or "good enough I guess". Statesboro ladies- you are paying Atlanta suburbs prices in rural Georgia. The quality of work and the experience should be high for the pricing in the Statesboro area. Hold them accountable for how the service and experience provided is done- or it will always stay the same and not get better. It may seem that I am quick to judge this whole money draining situation, but I have had my nails done there once on a visit to see my daughter at college. Never. Again. During my visit, tech was not friendly, didn't smile and my SNS was thick like acrylic. I had them redone 4 days after I got home from that visit because they looked so bad I was embarrassed. I went in for a full set of acrylic nails. I waited about 45 min for a tech but I didn't have an appointment so that's not bad. While I left thinking I was satisfied with my nails, upon getting home I realized a few things. There is no consistency in my nail lengths. Some are quite a bit longer than others and the shapes are also inconsistent. I had one cuticle that is pretty bloody and the edge of one of my nails was super sore this morning. After looking it's my actual nail and it's also cracked and bloody. I'm super disappointed. I don't remember my nailologist' name. She was polite and professional, had just had a baby boy and talked about he and her partner, and I was very comfortable with the conversation. The place was EXTREMELY busy, however, they got people in and out quickly... Now, I see how. The work is sub par, you can't tell how horrible the manicure is because of the polish, but, when the polish starts to peel off three days later you're able to access what a shotty job was done. Uneven filing, cuticles not pushed and picked properly. Expensive and truly not a great job. I chatted with the owner, I think her name was Kelly. She has complete and total control of her area, teach your technicians to TAKE THEIR TIME, this is not cattle prodding. Your customers deserve to be pampered not ushered in and out to ensure you make enough cash to cover expenses. My first few experiences were great. The last few times I've gone, the nail tech completely ignores what I ask for. I tell them repeatedly what I would like and they don't listen. I work in healthcare and need shorter nails. Most of the nail techs complain about filing my nails because "it doesn't look good short." I usually just get a basic pink gel polish. A shorter length should not make this more difficult. The prices vary from each visit. This past visit, I had a lady that normally just does waxing services. She didn't put much effort into my nails. They are extremely thick and bumpy. It was almost as if she was bothered that she had to step away from waxing to do nails.
