Tonight we decided to try Annie's Cafe. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere seems welcoming, and the menu is enticing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a chingona burger, which the menu stated normally just comes with potato chips. The in-restaurant menu gives the option of ordering fries, onion rings, or a cup of soup for an extra charge ($4.25 for soup). So I ordered a cup of the French onion with my burger. My wife ordered the Monte Cristo crepe with the French onion. I really enjoyed the burger, which was spicy and flavorful. My wife did not like the Monte Cristo crepe, which was lacking in texture and not very tasty. Apparently a Monte Cristo doesn't work as a crepe? The French onion soup was a glutenous ball as the bread became incredibly soggy in the broth. But the broth itself was flavorful. The food was mixed, but the bigger problem came when it was time to pay the bill. I was shocked when it turned out to be almost $20 higher than expected. I was charged $12.95 for each soup. I pointed out the discrepancy and the server took one of the soup charges off the bill. I pointed out that this was still an overcharge based on the listed price of $4.25 on the menu, but apparently the "cup of soup" on the menu did not include French onion, which is something that should have been clearly shown on the menu or at least explained by the server when I ordered it. Not wishing to argue the matter further I paid the bill with an abbreviated tip and left. Given the lack of communication and the exorbitant prices charged for middling food, we will not be back. read more

Annie's recently started serving dinners, in addition to the regular breakfast and lunch fare. We came in on a Friday night and were seated right away. The eight page menu leans towards French inspired food, but plenty of other dishes are available as well. The iced tea service was surprising. A small carafe of freshly brewed hot tea is served on top of a larger carafe with ice. Then a tall ice filled glass is placed alongside it all. Very effective and a great presentation. For the main meal, I ordered the flank steak crepe. Really it was more of a flank steak salad, but with a very good cheese filled crepe on the bottom. I went in at 6 pm and waited 15 minutes to be served despite being one of three groups in the facility. As soon as I sat down, I showed my waitress the promotion they were running on Facebook that I was there to receive a buy one get one burger. I said which two burgers I'd like to get and waited 10 more minutes. The owner came out and had me pull the promotion back up. Here is all of the wording of the promotion: " Valid: Wednesday, July 8, 2026 Buy 1 Get 1 Free Burger buy any burger get 1 quarter pound cheeseburger free, up to $10.95 in value, upgrades and add ons extra. One-time use. One per party. Cannot be combined with other offers. Show this to our staff." The owner explained to me that I could only receive the smallest possible burger, which is $10.95. That's valid and fair. She then asked which of the "craft" burgers, which are twice as expensive, I would like to purchase. I said I would like to buy the $10.95 burger, since it is buy one, get one free. She said it had to be one of the larger, more expensive craft burgers, since they only run the promotion to get people to spend more than they are receiving. I was pretty surprised she phrased it that way, and I said that nowhere in the promotion does it include the word 'craft' anywhere. She said that because I had placed an order i had to choose one of those two. I told her that the moment I sat down I explained which promotion I was utilizing and showed the staff. She said since she was the owner, she could add whatever she wanted as a requirement and that I could pick a burger twice as expensive or she reserves the right to refuse service. I chose to leave. I had eaten here once before and thought the food was entirely disappointing, but was willing to give it another shot since they were offering what I was lead to believe was a fair deal through their false advertising. We went to Annie's Crepes and Cake for breakfast. This place is surprisingly upscale for Bountiful as we don't have many fancy places to dine. The restaurant was busy but the service team was very attentive. My only nitpick would be that our drinks arrived after our food, but we had water so it wasn't a huge deal. I got the margarita crepe with breakfast potatoes and fresh squeezed orange juice. My husband got the monte christo and a latte, and my daughter got the Nutella bubble waffle sans everything but bananas. The food was fresh, delicious, and well plated. Our bill came in around $80 with tip, but the food quality, service, and atmosphere make this place worth the price. I'm excited to come back for tea service some day. Our server Anna has been friendly, efficient and has made us look forward to coming again. I happened to be in the area for my first time, when this place caught my eye. I was in a breakfast-y mood, so I decided to give it a try... and I'm glad I did. Okay so let's talk about the positives! Annie's is the cutest small business. It's warm and cozy inside with the loveliest welcoming vibes. I feel like I'm in my British grandmas sitting room getting a lovely cup of tea. However, we got here and were seated at 11:55 AM and it's now 1:39 PM and we are just getting our food. I know, we should have left when we had the chance. But they kept coming and saying it was almost done and being very apologetic. I don't know if this is how it always is, or if Annie's was just understaffed today, but it's been a bad experience. Only half of the tables in the restaurant are full and every person here has waited over an hour for their food. Even for things as simple as a crepe. Also the food was fine. Not bad, not great, just totally average. Also we ran out of drinks within about 20 minutes of sitting down and they haven't refilled them once. Like I said, maybe it's just a bad day for Annie's. Maybe they are just understaffed. They only have one server on the floor and he is busting his butt. But this is bad. I am deeply embarrassed for Annie's Cafe. Maybe just go for a cup of tea? Cause the 2 hour wait for food is NOT worth it. read more

We ordered the burgers based on the photos and the 1/2 lb promise on the menu. McDonalds has more meat on their quarter pounder. It's not that the food is bad, just not what is promised. The service was phenomenal, Austin deserves all kinds of praise. (Looks like I ate at their food truck before so that's the outdoor picture. My memory is horrible which is the main reason I started writing Yelp reviews ) I feel bad giving three stars but this food was so mediocre! I let social media sway me and I regret it once again. I got a gluten-free margarita and actually preferred the gf texture to the regular dessert one I got later (my bad, totally forgot to order gf). The filling was like a centimeter of almost straight cheese which therefore had almost no other flavor. I wanted pesto's brightness! And see that tomato garnish? That was the best bite of the whole thing. The tomatoes inside are tiny and not ripe or just low quality so they are flavorless. I would have loved half as much cheese, WAY more pesto, and the yummy garnish tomatoes throughout the inside. And put the balsamic on the whole thing. The banana crepe was better but needed way more filling. The service was great. Everyone was so nice. The red headed new waiter was endearing. I enjoyed having him as my waiter.
