You of course are a rose, But were always a rose." Robert Frost (1874-1963) I forgot just how good Watanabe Floral is.... Been a few years and many miles but they're still the number one florist on Oahu for me. It's staggering the amount of flowers, leis, haku, etc are offered here. Needed some fresh flowers for someone's birthday and I didn't want to play "roses roulette" with the typical less-than-stellar selection at the...ah... neighborhood grocery stores' inventory which is very convenient, but comes at the expense of quality. Ms Emma at Watanabe was absolutely brilliant, kind, patient and helpful with my questions. She engineered a most lovely arrangement complete with 2-dozen South American long stems, baby's breath, and St John's Wort flowers! Not only did they look amazing the day of the event but a week later they were still intact and blossoming slowly. Most other florists the petals start to fall on day 2 or 3. Will be back. Highly recommended. Mahalo nui for reading.

Watanabe Floral is Hawaii's largest full service floral shop since 1946, and my favorite shop. I try to visit here at least once a week to pick up roses/florals for my 2 vases, this help me think of a special person in my life who Loves floral. This place is such a happy vibe place/feeling, once you enter you will know what I mean. I just love the decor, so colorful, cheerful, so happy! I remember the very first time when I brought my mom here, I could see her happy face, I had to snap a photo of her at front of store. My recent visit I picked 10 colorful roses for my vase and also had to pick up a Birthday gift. Loved looking at all the orchids, picking one was hard. Watanabe has everything here, not only floral needs, you can just do your one stop gift shopping her. Like a local Hallmark with all the trinkets, gifts, snacks, jewelry, some very unique items that I never seen before. I came across the handmade crochet items and couldn't pass up on the bird and flower key chain, had to get them. They have very great vendors they purchase from, that's a great for supporting local! All in all, I just love shopping here! Don't forget - Mon-Sat. 9-4 & closed on Sundays! May your life be as beautiful as the flowers you give, spread happiness and joy with flowers!!

Someone called me to get more details for a smooth delivery process and that was definitely appreciated. I'm so glad I decided to keep looking for the perfect florist that provides unique floral arrangements - it was the first time I browsed the selection and couldn't decide because each option was a true work of art! Keep up the amazing work and I can't wait to order from you again. Mahalo from California!

Their tropical designs with protea, unique flowers, and lush foliage felt natural, artistic, and truly reflective of Hawaii. I loved the variety of styles & colors, and the arrangements felt generous and thoughtfully designed for the price. There was a delivery charge, but honestly it didn't feel like a deal breaker because the overall value was so good. Ordering online was easy, delivery was on time, and they even sent a photo of the final arrangement (I asked), which was absolutely beautiful. They made a couple substitutions, but I trusted their design sense completely. I'm already looking for reasons to place another order

My husband and I were beyond blessed to have had such an attentive, thorough and detailed florist…read morefor our special wedding day. From the beginning, Todd made us feel very comfortable and confident in his work. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the tropical flowers to be expected during our wedding season. Todd went above and beyond, bringing the exact vision we were looking for on our wedding day. My bouquet was phenomenal. Todd was always available for questions and responded in a timely fashion, which was quite valuable for our destination wedding. We were quite sensitive to the preservation of the flowers, so we were most appreciative of recycling our ceremony flowers to be reused for the reception as well. Due to covid, our wedding did have to be postponed once. Todd was incredibly reassuring to us during that difficult time, providing thoughtful and sincere words of advice. I will never forget our heartfelt conversations and his generosity. Todd has a wonderful heart. He is considerate, compassionate, kind, detail oriented and was a wonderful asset on our wedding day. Our special day would not have been the same without him. We loved all of our vendors. I hate that I have to give a bad review and the unfortunate events of this business and the owner…read moreand I appreciate the things that Todd assisted me with, but I needed to share my experience. Sorry this is going to be long one - This business was on my venue's preferred vendors so I first reached out in January 2026 for my October 2026 wedding. Todd was great at responding at first when we were both trying to get an idea of what I wanted. I'm not big on flowers in general but I still wanted to have some floral for my wedding. I sent over a wishlist and inspo pictures and he priced it out, but I didn't realize how much floral costs so we were able to remove and adjust. He recommended repurposing all ceremony floral for reception to help with my lower budget and for certain flowers to be silk rather than fresh flowers due to the climate. We went back and forth on the phone making adjustments until we came to my final order. I thought it was kind of weird that as soon as he sent me the final invoice, he called me immediately and asked me to look it over and give my card information to pay without giving me some time to look it over on my own then send over my payment. I get he wanted the business but it was a bit of too much pressure, especially considering it is a lot of money and I wanted to make sure everything was good before I handed over money. After paying over the phone, I asked for a receipt and after still not receiving it 2 days later, I asked again and finally got it 3 days after paying. Because I gave myself a lot of time to plan my wedding and started reaching out to vendors early, of course my vision changed as time went by. At the beginning of June 2026, I wanted to change the bridal floral (lei for bride & groom), I added 2 flower girls and one of my bridesmaids had to drop out due to her job so I asked to adjust my order and an updated invoice. I was expecting quick replies from him since that was my previous experience since interacting with him. The final design for floral was coming up on 6/21/26 and I asked about what is needed and again, for an updated invoice. He just replied that it was confirmed but no invoice. At the end of June, I got to the point that I asked my coordinator to step in and check in with Todd. He finally gets back to us on 6/23/26 and says his assistants had some health issues come up so he was backed up with work and would provide an updated invoice shortly. Okay, I gave him grace and patience especially with it being wedding season too. About a month and a half (!) passed by, and I still have not received an updated invoice and final payment was coming up. My coordinator finally got a hold of him and she updated me that he had some health issues himself and found himself in the hospital. She was able to work out a plan with him and she had a floral friend, Patricia (@808patticakes), who knew Todd and they agreed to have her friend take over my wedding under the Always Flowers 808 business. Since then, yesterday 9/2/26 my coordinator updated me that Todd has filed for bankruptcy and is not planning to finish the contracts he started or refund any deposits he has already collected. Luckily my wedding order was already transferred to Patricia so my wedding will be progressing as planned. SO GRATEFUL for Patricia and please consider her if you need floral or cake for your wedding!
